Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Went for the New Year doo, paid 14 pound per ticket and went with 5 families and all the Children,I would think with spending alot of money we would be appreciated, kids got told they had eaten enough food when it was the first time at the buffet, not allowed to reserve seats but because there was alot of us we got moved into the conservatory so the locals and friends could have the comfy seats, then to top it off staff wanted to take some seats off us for locals and when we refused they was not polite, will not go back here unless you are a local or regular.

We went there this evening. Nice atmosphere, good furnishings and decor. the staff were polite and smiling. My wife had the meat pie and chips and I had sausage and mash. Both meals were fine and at a fair price. We'll go again I'm sure, this place ticks all the boxes.

The reason why I gave 3 out of 5 stars is because of service and prices. The place itself is clean, it's a nice decor and great idea with open kitchen. We booked a table in case it was busy and we celebrated a birthday so we wouldn't want to left disappointed. The place was completely empty yet we had to wait about 20 minutes for drinks then about 45 minutes for the food. Also prices are too high considering the steak price same as my favourite steakhouse place and it's not even same level.

Went for a lunch with friends, it was our first visit so were curious to see how it went. The inside of the pub was very well decorated and had a nice ambience, we were met with cheery smiles and shown to our table which was very nice. The lunch menu offered the normal meals you would expect along with an over 60's menu from which we ordered. The service was great and cheerful and fast although this did slow considerably as the pub filled up to a point of being slow. The steak pie's arrived but the chips tasted like frozen chips and seemed very salty, the pies looked good but also tasted very salty. The vegetable lasagne had a crust that could not be breached and tasted far too strong of tomato sauce and not of the vegetables. All the portions were good sizes (even though it was over 60's). The desserts were tasty and were enjoyed. On balance the food was not to our taste and so will be unlikely to go back which is a shame as the place itself was nice and the staff cheerful

Visited for the first time today for lunch which the four of us enjoyed. The staff were welcoming, the decor pleasant, the food was reasonably priced as were the drinks. Last came here about twenty years ago. Definitely a change for the better. Coming back again soon.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay of only 2 nights whilst visiting family locally. Very reasonably priced at £65 per night. Room was very modern and well maintained. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Didn’t get an opportunity to eat but everything that we saw others around us eating looked very appetizing. Would highly recommend.

The meal was very good, Sunday lunch. Very helpful staff at the start of the meal. Let down at the end, 3 staff stood talking near the door we waited about 1mins to order another drink and view the dessert menu ,but no one approached us. Went to the till to pay and left without either
