This hotel is brand new, everything is new and very modern and for the price of £56 per room, including breakfast this was a great price.

Due to Covid, the hotel was nearly empty, we had only seen one other couple in the hotel whilst we were there. The downstairs bar was empty and unmanned.

The check in was rather odd, the hotel had locked the main entrance, and were only allowing people in after being buzzed in. This is fine if you clearly display this, but its not very clear. Check in was fine, I was upgraded to a slightly larger room as I have Bonvoy Gold status.

The room was lovely, it was on the 7th floor and was clean and cool.

That night I had contacted the main desk to ask for some ice cubes, I wasnt able to get through to anybody on the phone or with the Marriot app. I gave up calling after a while and did without. Interestingly, the next morning someone on the live chat wrote that they hoped my request was actioned.

We had been advised that breakfast was in the form of a breakfast bag which consisted of a port of dry porridge, water and a piece of fruit. It was pretty bad, so we left it.

Location is in what appears to be a renovated area of the city, there are a number of high rise being constructed. The car park is right beside the hotel and is fairly cheap at £6 a night.

I used the express checkout, so I've nothing to report here.

It is a simple, clean hotel located just outside the main shopping center (Arnade) and downtown activities in the older part of the city.

When I arrived, I noticed a large construction project next to the hotel. They already assigned a room that was on the other side, but during the day, you can still hear the construction.

I was provided with an upgrade, so I think the standard room is fairly small here.

They don't do daily housekeeping due to Covid. I think the note said every 3 days. I had to ask one of the housekeepers for more shampoo.

There is a small fitness center and a tapas restaurant.

The one annoying thing is the shower. It is very narrow and they placed a little metal soap tray at a location that when you are under the shower head and washing, you hit it with your elbow. I would suggest placing the soap dish away from the front.

There is a lot of construction work going on around the hotel with many of the roads being worked on and so with the construction work came delays travelling around the area. There is roadside parking nearby but we were advised against this by the receptionist and so parked in the nearby Printworks NCP for £22:50 for the night. Ther area around the hotel has seen better days although its in an area that appears to be getting gentrified ,with some of the old industrial buildings being converted to flats. The hotel itself was nice, with a contemporary and modern interior throughout. Its in a good location as its within walking distance to popular restaurant and bars. Since we arrived late saturday afternoon we were surprised to see only one receptionist as there were quite a few people trying to book in. We were eventually allocated a room however on entry discovered that the room hadnt been made up. We were allocated a room and later went to the bar for a drink. Again it was obvious that they were light on staff numbers as the receptionist was the same person who had to serve at the bar. One thing that should be noted is that this hotel due to its central location was very popular with young couples going out to the bars and clubs. We returned to the hotel about 10:30 pm to discover that a nearby room was masquerading as a pre club venue with what sounded like a lot of people n the room and a decent sound system, if it was in a bar. About 11:30pm they obviously all headed out, only to resume during the early hours when they returned. Another member of our group suffered from a similar experience although they were 4 floors below us. To summerise the hotel is obviously very popular with young couples going out for the night in Manchester City centre therefore if you are after somewhere quiet to stay where you'll get a undisturbed n ight of sleep this place is probably not for you at the weekend. The hotel is modern and clean however the staff were in short supply and werent overly freindly.

Good Afternoon Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. I apologise that not all areas of your stay met with your expectations. We are in the Northern Quarter which is an area of development in Manchester currently. I am pleased to see that your room was quickly rectified by the team and you were able to check in. The team are happy to assist with any guest issues that may occur and I hope this was the case for your stay. I do hope that we will see you at the hotel in the near future With Thanks Clare Price Duty Manager

Arriving at 10.30pm, at check in to be asked for a £40 deposit for “room charges” at the bar. Not for possible damages etc. Been to many hotels and have had to give card details but not a FULL transaction of £40 taken out that you have to wait for 3 days after check out. They tried to inform that they hold the money and it’s released straight away which is untrue.

To get to the room, a little confused as to why we were given a disability access room as we weren’t informed & with no city view that we paid for. We had no issue with that style of room with we were made aware when booking but it’s not what we paid for, we paid for a different room. To further discover, that we couldn’t even shower because it was too low and couldn’t be adjusted. Lock on the door broke, door frame hanging off so much that we could even fit the tv remote between the gap no problem (didn’t give secure feeling), and marks over the floor.

We rang down to ask what has happened, spoke with night duty manager Dante, to be told well that’s the room and if it didn’t suit he could help to find another hotel. Not ideal at 11pm. Dante wouldn’t come up to room to speak with us to show and explain the issue properly, sent a poor girl up twice until we explained we were sorry, it wasn’t her fault as she couldn’t do anything and it was best we speak to the duty manager as this was unfair.

Dante came up with a very poor attitude. Told us well that is a city view (looking into a building site) and what did we expect. Explained shower situation to which we were laughed at in our faces, to take it off the wall (which was bolted & we wouldn’t be) so he told us to tilt it and to try bend under it. Which still was NOT possible. He told us the door would be fine while continuing to smirk at every comment made.

We moved to another room still disability access so we still couldn’t shower & the room was still no better but we had a door that locked to make us feel a bit more reassured. Dante told us to speak to Louise the general manager in the morning.

Louise seemed to try rectify the situation, upgraded our room with a bottle of Prosecco & free bar. She also told us she would discount us for the first night of our stay & we would have the money sent back to us with an email by the next day. A week later we had to call 3 times, to which Louise refused to ring us back or follow up with our calls & we were then told we would have the money back - which appeared the following day. This process shouldn’t have taken a week, and promises shouldn’t be made if can’t be followed up.

A lengthy review but not in half as much detail. But I wouldn’t recommend this hotel at all!!! As a Christmas present to someone to see Manchester/match, very let down & ruined the start of the trip. There is far better hotels.

I was in Manchester to watch a game at the Old Trafford, The hotel’s conveniently located near train and tram stations (Piccadilly and Victoria).
Rooms are clean and comfortable. The hotel doesn’t have harder pillows even though you can request for one through the Bonvoy App- they only have squishy feather pillows, I’d to stuff a towel in the pillow case to suit my need. The hotel offers 20% discount on F&B if you’re in town for an event but sadly doesn’t have a restaurant so the only place you can spend is the bar and the 7-8 items they’ve got on the bar menu. The barman, Drew, is a hearty man to chat with. It was good talking to you Drew.
The front office team failed to impress - unauthorised charges on my card and billing issues even after I checked out. The lady at check in wasn’t welcoming at all. The night manager Dante was more pleasant to talk to.

Good Afternoon Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. I can see that some of the team left a lasting impression on you and to hear this is great news we will be sure to let the team know! However I am disappointed to hear that the front desk were less welcoming and I would like to assure you that this will be passed to the Head of the Department for her to tackle. We want all our guests to feel at home with us. We are opening a restaurant in the near future so I do hope we will see you back at the hotel to try this out With thanks and kind regards Clare Price Rooms Division Manager

In August me and my girlfriend went to stay at the AC Hotel by Marriott in the standard double room and was very happy with our overall experience.

On arrival, the service was excellent and reception was very quick in checking us in. The room was very modern, spacious and clean with a huge double bed and bathroom. The shower was huge and a good pressure and the air conditioning was easy to use and maintain at a good temperature. The bar on the ground floor of the hotel looked clean and modern, however, we didn’t use this service.

The hotel is situated in a great location where the city is easily accessible. Although there is not parking provided, there is cheap public parking nearby at the euro car park.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the Marriott hotel and would recommend to anyone visiting Manchester.

I came here last weekend for a night stay alone.
From arrival to departure every staff member I encountered was polite and friendly.
Check in was quick, i had a room on the seventh floor. Which had some fantastic views across Manchester.
The room itself was modern and stylish, spotlessly clean and had fantastic air conditioning!
Which was definitely needed.
The bed was massive, sheets crisp and clean I just melted into it.
Definitely one of the most comfortable hotel beds I’ve ever slept in.
The bathroom although behind a frosted glass door offered enough privacy and again was spotless.
The shower is huge and the pressure and temperature spot on.
The towels were super soft fluffy and large.
Breakfast in the morning was delicious, served in the restaurant/bar by two lovely members of staff who were also very friendly.
The quality of the ingredients stood out also in comparison to other hotel breakfasts if had.
All in all i had a fantastic time at the hotel and cannot wait to return

Rooms were somewhat fine, only issue was that the switches were all wired differently so some you had to flip up and flip down to switch the various lights on. The room relies heavily on natural light so unless you're travelling during the summer it will be very dark in the rooms.

Now the main gripe I have is the showers, I would just like to point out that my shower at home is nothing special, just a normal shower head with decent pressure and warmth which is enough to make me feel clean and ready for the day, however, the AC Hotel in Manchester's shower did the complete opposite! The first time I hopped in I was greeted with a leaky shower head with virtually no water coming out of the holes from the shower head, instead it was just dribbling down the bit that screws into the flexi pipe. I called reception and they had someone come and fix it whilst I was away. I came back and tested it and it was working so I thought great, tonight I will be able to nice hot shower..

Turns out the shower is not hot at all! Lukewarm is an understatement, I was struggling to warm myself up as I was waiting for the shower to heat up, I waited and waited, finally after almost a minute I realised it wasn't going to get any hotter. I then stood under the miserable shower head to only realise the water pressure was horrendous. The barely warm water was struggling to come out of the tiny shower head so I had to huddle close to the wall right underneath the shower head to feel any water hitting my body. Then there was the drip tray, holy moly whoever designed this probably had a few too many to drink before submitting the plans to the builders, the drip trays waste pipe is right next to the outside of the shower, water is CONSTANTLY LEAKING and you absolutely have to put a floor towel down to soak up the water (see picture attached) were they too cheap to not put a folding bit of glass to stop this? Did no one test this?! I guess that is probably why the pressure is so piss poor, if it had decent pressure the whole bathroom floor would probably end up flooding!

Then there is the little shelf for the gels, shampoo's etc. My oh my the amount of times I have knocked my elbow on the corner of this thing is a joke, as I mentioned the pressure is horrendous, so you have to huddle real close to the wall under the shower head, which means you are the within a inch away from the shelf and whenever you are scrubbing yourself down you are constantly whacking yourself against this thing! Couldn't they had drilled it to the opposite wall?!

I have stayed at a few hotels, both in the UK and around the world, and I am telling you that this has to be, the WORST hotel shower I have ever used. I feel even more dirty after using it!

Nice hotel, contemporary and modern interior throughout. Good location, walking distance to popular restaurant and bars. Room was exactly what we expected, modern furnishing, comfortable bed, big tv etc.. Staff was welcoming, but don’t see the need for taking a £40 deposit, as I’ve been to many hotels and never had to leave a deposit. The room also lacked a few amenities, and could have been cleaned more thoroughly as there was visible dirty handprint all over the inside window.

Great location with parking being £8 nearby. Staff all wearing masks but no other guests seemed to bother (not the hotels fault!)
Breakfast was abysmal. A tiny breakfast bag with an apple, banana, pot of porridge and a croissant in a packet - if you're thinking of paying extra for breakfast don't do it. I understand COVID19 has its restraints but it was one of the worst breakfasts ive ever had from a hotel.
Rooms were clean however the A/C in our room didn't work so we literally didnt sleep at all on our first night. I eventually got fed up and rang reception at 2am to see if we could move rooms. They let us move but we should have been put in a room with functioning air con in the first place.

If you're after a cheap budget hotel, visit here. But if you want a more pleasurable experience there are plenty of better hotels at the same price.
Really disappointed!!

Depends on what you mean by nightlife. There are lots of restaurants and pub within 10 min walk towards North Quarter and Arndale. I don't know about dance clubs if that is what you are looking for but with Covid, could be a challenge if that is what you want to do.
