As others have said some parts of the hotel are a little tired, but there are obvious signs of investment, just a shame Marriott couldn't invest more, to make staying at the hotel an outstanding experience. Public areas are very clean and modern looking and guest rooms in general are of a good standard. Staff are very friendly and helpful,...

Upon arrival the staff were very friendly. I was given a map and showed were the places were that I wanted to visit. When I got to my room I was very happy. It was a very generous size and it was only me staying so I loved it! The bathroom was standard but very clean and the shower was...

Stayed here for a family weekend in Manchester. Such a lovely hotel and the staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The hotel was extremely busy with football goers and they handled that brilliantly. Every interaction with all members of staff was a pleasure. Special mention to David and Dean. Hotel was very clean although bathroom a little dated....

Stayed two nights over Easter weeekend. Great location as others have mentioned. Decoration we can understand isn't to everyone's taste but we liked it. Rooms are a little tired but downsides for us were tissue packed into the eyehole of our room rather than it being fixed - may not be the hotel but it should be checked as routine....

Spent a couple of days here for business and found hotel to be very pleasant, the service was excellent. The hotel had very recently been updated throughout. Can't fault the hotel based on my experience.

Friendly staff which made a very big difference to our 1 night stay. Very flexible to extend the check out time. I like how the staff is so helpful to attend to you when you needed their help. The staff had helped us with printing of our Europe itinerary (yes, we are very old-school and still believed in written and...

Well located city centre location. On site car parking which takes the stress away from trying to find somewhere to park. Staff polite and service very good. We did not eat or drink in the hotel but it appeared popular most of time during our visit. The hotel décor is looking tired and the hotel is in need of refurbishment....

Always try to stay at the Renaissance when we are in Manchester. It's convenient, car parking easy, close to the Arena in Manchester. So no need for taxis when going to a concert or show there. Rooms are spacious, we always go for a junior suite, always spotless. Breakfast is buffet style, it's great. Staff always welcoming and friendly Never...

Second time I stayed in this hotel. Plus points: central location, large rooms (with river view if you are on the right side) and breakfast is as expected. The rooms however, are in need of a referb. All the lights in the room didn't work and the bathroom looks dated as if it hadn't been touched since the 70's, apart...
