Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Held my husband's 40th birthday party here with exclusive use of the hotel. Absolutely AMAZING venue- perfect spaces, bedrooms, party food (all delicious) , breakfast, staff- just incredible. It couldn't have gone better. The perfect way to get friends and family together. We had 60 people stay and another 20 come along in the evening. Everyone had a brilliant time. Jess and Georgie were amazing to work with to make the party happen. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone. Will be back to stay as soon as we can!

This is a beautiful boutique hotel. But what made the event was the staff. They were the nicest and most welcoming team that I have ever met. From the moment we arrived until our departure, they were always happy to help. Thank you to you all for making it a wonderful wedding.

Wow! This hotel is beautiful! Our room was large and had a beautiful bath inside the room. Tastefully decorated with really thought through room amenities. The staff are courteous and very helpful! Always a friendly face at the reception.

We stayed here for 2 nights while settling our daughter into Manchester uni. It is a lovely boutique style hotel in a good location, near to didsbury with its restaurants and bars within walking distance. The hotel is spotlessly clean with the most lovely decor. We stayed in room 43 which was tastefully furnished and very quiet and comfortable. The breakfast is cooked to order and delicious, we will definitely return next time we visit our daughter - perfect - thank you x

Stayed for 2 nights on a work trip. With my booking I requested access without too many steps and quiet room. I got a room at the top of a steep staircase. First night noise level ok except banging doors. Second night I didn’t sleep at all. I could hear everything from the person next door. When they used the bathroom it sounded like they were using my bathroom, all through the night. I told reception on checkout. The person I spoke to was high handed and everything was my fault, no apology at all. She said if I return to ring and ask for a quiet room, admitting the one I was in was not a quiet room. Of course I won’t be returning. Things can go wrong when travelling but I judge on how a complaint is handled. I insisted on a reduction in the bill and she decided to take off one nights room service. She went for the cheapest item (cheese and biscuits). They had randomly added another item to this charge, when I queried it and said the extra dish I was charged for was not available she loudly shouted in to the chef to ask if I was telling the truth. A serious case of needing customer service training.

Dear UkDodger, Thank you for taking the time to review the hotel, had you treated the receptionist with the respect everyone deserves whilst simply doing their jobs then she may have been a little more willing to discuss your concerns. You stayed for 2 nights with the same guest next door, only on check out did you shout your issues at us with your foul mouthed tirade. It’s disappointing reading your 10 posts that you use TA only as a tool to vent your anger without offering anything balanced or positive in return. Thankfully you are only one of the twelve one star reviews we have received in 21 years and close to 1000 reviews to date. We can only hope readers look at your 10 other posts and take a balanced approach on your comments about your stay, we will continue to look after all our other guests with the same professionalism we have always demonstrated in all our positive reviews. Kind regards, Andrew Hughes General Manager

Attended a wedding here, from the minute we arrived to leaving it was amazing. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our bedrooms we beautiful, I assume as we were single occupancy we were given a snug room, which is really the wrong description. It was far from Snug. Beautifully decorated, a very comfortable large bed. A full drinks bar, mini bar, the fridge was full of everything anyone would need. The bathroom had a full size bath with a good shower overhead. The food was amazing, The whole of the hotel was clean and very tastefully decorated. If I needed to have any negative comment it would be the car park spaces are a little small, but that is the only thing I can be negative about.

Stayed overnight when our flight from Manchester Airport was cancelled late in the evening (1015pm). There were no hotels available around the airport and I found this one on booking.com. Booked it online and got a taxi immediately. It's a fair distance from the airport (£25) and so it was late on when we arrived. However, the welcome at reception was brilliant, sympathetic and helpful. We were checked in quickly and shown to our room. The room was fairly basic but comfortable and clean. The bed was a joy to sleep in even though we were still wound up about the cancelled flight. The breakfast was superb and so filling that we didn't need a dinner but next ate at about 6pm. The receptionist gave us some handy tips for walking around the area. A lovely hotel.

Dear PandPBlackpool. Thank you for your five star review. I am so pleased to read we made you feel at home and that we have been able to accommodate you for a late flight cancellation. It is great to read that you found the bed to be a joy and breakfast superb. I hope you made it on your holiday in the end! For the reference of any guests trying to reach us from Manchester airport we are located approximately 6 miles away. Alternatively to taking a taxi there is also a direct train service from the airport which takes 12 minutes to reach East Didsbury and costs between £1.6 to £4. Kind regards,

My now Husband and I got married at the Didsbury House Hotel. It was a small intimate wedding with 15 people and this was the perfect place for it. In the run up to the wedding Jenny from the events team did a brilliant job of understanding what we wanted from the day and ensuring it was all followed through on the day. The staff were lovely and so helpful ensuring anything we needed was in place. They tirelessly worked away in the background to make it seamless. The food was delicious and I stayed the night before at No Eleven (Part of Didsbury House but down the road). The Veranda room was beautiful, very comfortable and the breakfast very tasty. It was everything we wanted for our wedding day and so glad we held it here.
