Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed here for one night before a flight from Manchester Airport the following morning with parking at the hotel for 4 days which was a decent price but have to note the following points: - Tap water in rooms not safe to drink (never experienced that in the UK before). - Have to pay £7 for WiFi in Rooms. (free in lobby) - Shuttle Bus to airport is £7 per person each way and only runs once every hour (taxi is cheaper). Showed up 20 minutes late on airport to hotel transfer. - Not in the greatest of areas if you’re looking to venture out for a meal etc. - Car park very tight and limited spaces. - Was told there would be a 20 minute wait in the hotel restaurant for a table when there were only two tables currently occupied. - No plug sockets next to the beds which is no big deal but inconvenient when relying on an alarm/fully charged phone in the morning.

Stayed here for one night prior to early flight. Hotel was good. Bar was excellent and Rasta Michael was a star. Room was good, clean and quiet. Car parking was very secure. I would ignore the poor reviews. There is nothing wrong with this hotel.

Stayed 1 night before a Leeds game. We arrived just before midnight but check in was no issue as there was a 24 hour reception. We found the room to be clean with comfortable enough beds. The room was only €69 & was exactly what we expected. Staff were friendly & it is a decent budget hotel. Buses to yhe city centre go from outside every 30 minutes.

From start to finish the experience was awful. Was told to park in the street opposite the hotel. I’m sure the residents would have loved this. We got to the room late and at first glance was basic but we were ok with that as it was a brief stay for our early flight the next day. It got worse from there, the cups were disgusting so couldn’t have a cuppa then when we went to climb into bed we noticed it had blood under the sheets, and also on the floor at the bottom of the bed. At this point it was already nearly 2am and we needed sleep before the long haul flights the next day, so we moved into the other double bed in the room which thankfully looked clean. The customer services had the cheek to say it was satisfactory and more or less called us liars, but offered us a good will gesture of a discounted stay at the hotel again… Never in a million years would I stay back there.

Firstly the car park is horrendous with tight spaces and we had to drive round to find a parking space and ended up not parking in a space at all. The room smelled awful of smoke even though it is supposed to be a none smoking hotel. Thank goodness we were there for only one night before our flight. We arrived early evening but the restaurant is only open until 8pm. The bed and pillows were comfortable and plenty of hot water for a shower with shower gel. The cooked breakfast consisted of cheap sausage and other breakfast items. This hotel needs a refurb as it’s dated with old furniture and foisty smelling carpets. Saving grace is it was quite cheap for a last minute booking.

I am still in the hotel as I write this but do not even bother. When we arrived the reception and bar area looked lovely. We got to our room, again, lovely, dated and could do with a bit more of a clean but lovely. We had booked a travel cot which was no where to be found or seen. I went down to reception to ask for said travel cot “You can take it up to your room.” Now I was very surprised because I’ve never been told by a hotel company I need to take the travel cot upstairs myself and set it up. Anyway, I did. Doing this I found there was no mattress or sheet included with this for my child, just the hard board so I improvised with blankets. This was red flag number one. The bar area was run by two teenagers who looked miserable and were not bothered about customer service at all but the food was okay. Then, the night time. Here’s where it really got bad. I ran a bath to unwind as we had an early flight. I don’t know the last time this bath was run but black specs came rushing out of the tap, filling the bath. So I emptied that and didn’t bother. The neighbours in the room next to us started blaring music so loud that they woke my child up. I attended reception and explained and they came up and politely knocked and said “can you turn the music down” the people in the room next to us said yes, to which, the receptionist left. The people in the room next door then continued so the other adult in my party went down to complain and was told “we can move you room.” This was 9pm. I’d just got my child to sleep in my bed because she wasn’t sleeping on a wooden board and to be told we can move you room when we weren’t the problem felt unacceptable. My 70 year old father was nearly in tears. The walls are like paper and I mean, paper so if you are staying, take ear plugs because you can hear every door slam and everyone’s conversations in the next room. Half the people staying there do not give an absolute toss about anyone but themselves (you know the types). The staff don’t care. No security. No manager to be seen. If you want a good nights sleep before your flight, book somewhere else and pay more because as much as pictures look nice, that’s about it.

Took this hotel on a Sunday night ahead of an early flight on a Monday morning. I recognise Britannia Hotels are at the lower end of the market, but this was very poor. I went for an executive room since I feared the standard rooms maybe not so great. However the executive seemed below the standards expected for even a standard. TV not working, dirty carpets and overall very poor. Staff were really nice and helpful but management really need to invest in the property, it reall my was very very poor.
