I stayed with my partner in this hotel as
had booked a gig at the Albert Hall which is literally opposite this hotel.

The hotel itself is outstanding, the interior of every part of the hotel is carefully thought about.

The location was so convenient for us, especially with us visiting the Albert Hall. It is also within walking distance to many of Manchester’s attractions, we walked to the Christmas Markets from here which were great.

Upon arrival, we were checked in by friendly staff, and then approached the lift area. There is a lovely touch near this area of complimentary sweets and water to have in the reception area.

Once in the room itself, the rooms are very spacious and modern. The blinds are electronic and blackout, alongside having a Nespresso machine in the room itself.

The nearest car park to this hotel is the NCP Car Park Manchester Gt Northern Warehouse 1, which is quite pricey but convenient with it being so close to the hotel.

I would definitely stay again and recommend this hotel to others wanting a luxurious stay in Manchester.

Stayed here for one night as part of a friends birthday celebrations, the reception area is very nicely decorated and the staff were welcoming.

We had a Premium Deluxe room which had everything you could need, Nespresso machine and a couple of bottles of water provided (more were left later on during the turndown service which was a nice touch). The bed as is standard for Radisson hotels was excellent. Could not fault the sleep quality.

We had a couple of drinks in the bar before bed which were reasonably priced for this calibre of hotel, and the barman was very friendly. We did however find it odd that last orders were called around 15 minutes to midnight, in similar grade hotels we've stayed in drinks have been available into the small hours for residents, even if served by the concierge or night porter.

Breakfast the next morning was a little underwhelming, certainly if we'd paid the £24 each for it we would've been very disappointed, as the case was that it was included in the rate, it was acceptable enough. The hot items were sausages, smoked streaky bacon (which was very salty, not pleasant), beans, tomatoes, hash browns and scrambled eggs. I was surprised by the lack of back bacon and fried eggs. Premier Inn manage that and they charge half the price.

We were otherwise seated and shown the menu with the included items, speciality coffees and chargeable extras. The staff were more interested in clearing tables than asking if we wanted anything however, I had to collar someone to order a couple of coffees, by which point we'd almost finished eating.

All in all, we would probably stay again, but I definitely wouldn't recommend the breakfast unless it's part of your rate. The hotel is located close to plenty of bars & restaurants where you can get something a lot better for a lot less.

We spent one night in the hotel as we were in Manchester for the weekend. We booked last minute on the day and saw that check in is not until 3pm but turned up at 2pm hoping for the best. We were told our room wasn't ready but that we could pay an additional £70 for a city view room which was ready immediately. I felt that was a lot for less than an hour when we would hardly be in the room and it felt like a money making opportunity for them as there were still plenty of rooms available online so the hotel was clearly not at full capacity and I'm sure there were rooms that were ready. Anyway, we left and came back later where we had a better check-in experience. The 8th floor room we were given was nice (we had a reasonable city view anyway despite not paying for one) and it was clean and smelt fresh. The mini bar was not refridgerated, and unfortunately we were charged twice for a very warm drink that we actually put back, but it seemed easier to just accept this than to waste time at checkout disputing it. The bed was comfy although we only had one low pillow each and couldn't find others. I'm sure we could have asked for more but I think it's nice to have the option without the hassle. The location is what makes this place great, really central and walking distance for everything you need. We paid to park in a small secure underground carpark just round the corner using Justpark (about 30 seconds walk) which was really convenient. We got back to our room late on the Saturday night and ordered some food for delivery. Unfortunately, the hotel wouldn't allow the delivery man upstairs or wouldn't bring it up to us, which meant having to change out of our nightwear to go to reception to collect it. I realise it's probably for security reasons but it was just a little inconvenient. We had breakfast on Sunday morning which was a little cold but a reasonable choice of cooked and continental options and lovely fresh juice. There were two options of where we could eat and we opted for the quieter room but it was very cold in there. I would never say the stay was a 5 star experience but the location is great, the hotel is clean and the staff were pleasant enough, always greeting us as we came in and out of the hote - it's just a shame they don't push themselves that tiny bit further to make it a 5 star experience, and that they use things like the 3pm to make more money.

We booked a Superior Room with a King Sized bed (as per Expedia), however on arrival we were told the Superior Room was a twin and the King Bed was merely a request, despite the rooms still being sold on Expedia as such (see pictures).
I booked this room in July 2019 for a valentines night with my wife, given the reputation, location and brand of the hotel I thought this would be a nice stay.
But spending Valentines night in twin beds separated by a fixed table, in a room with an adjoining door was far from expectations and incredibly disappointing. We’d sooner of saved £150 and stayed in a premier inn.

The hotel itself is very nice, great location and breakfast was very good, however the cleanliness in the room left something to be desired as we found hairs on the bed, a dirty cracked sink and a damaged toilet. Not to mention the very uncomfortable mattresses, that my wife likened to sleeping on a concrete floor.

All in all, it was a very disappointing stay and really ruined our one night of freedom (We’ve got small children and very rarely get the chance to get out).

Dear Lewbo85, I was truly concerned in reading your comments and I will discuss the points you have raised with the relevant departments as what you described is definitely not up to our high standards. I do apologise for the room allocation - unfortunately third party bookings have the option for a bed type request that depends on availability. I do understand this disappointed you and I would love for you and your wife to give us a chance to restore your faith in the hotel by booking directly with us. We were made very welcome for a weekend stay just before the national CV19 crisis took hold. Even better the hotel accommodated our teenage daughter in our suite at short notice and very efficiently.

The suite was incredibly spacious with a huge bed, lounge area and pleasant patio. Whilst the hotel provided a single bed for our daughter the huge sofa was actually a sofa bed.

Thoughtful and luxurious touches included handmade macaroons which tasted wonderful. Coffee was via a nexpresso machine and there was plenty of bottled water. The bed was very comfortable (I’m very fussy!) and pillows and the duvet were lofty goose down.

There is a lovely spa and pool area plus a hotel standard gym all in the basement. We didn’t use them on this occasion.

The breakfast was amazing. Really high quality ingredients and some unusual but welcome touches like flax seeds and a lovely lemon and mint infusion. The breakfast service was attentive and it was clear that staff took a great pride in their hotel and wanted to make their guests’ stay special. Nothing was too much trouble.

The hotel is superbly placed with NCP parking 5 minutes walk away which can be prebooked via NCP at a lower advance rate. We made use of the very low cost tram system to travel directly to the Lowry to watch opera. All the shops you could possibly want are within a few minutes walk as well as some of Manchester’s iconic buildings.

Thank you for such a lovely weekend.

I have stayed here a number of times in recent weeks/months and all stays have been perfect.

From the moment you walk in and greeted by Mark, you feel welcomed. All of the staff are friendly and attentive.

The rooms are a very good size, very comfy bed, separate area for relaxing and a small work space. All rooms I stayed in had a separate bathroom with a walk in shower, bath and high quality toiletries.

The gym is a decent size, the bar has a good vibe to it, although the music was probably a bit loud for 6pm on a weekday and the breakfast is really good value.

I do like the facility that you can check in/out online, however the email function doesn’t work, so you still have to call the accounts team if you need a copy of your bill.

My husband and I checked in on the 31st Dec 2019 to celebrate New Year for a 1 night stay. As soon as we parked at the front to off load our luggage the concierge came straight away to help us and direct us to the offsite parking which is a 3min walk away.

Concierge took our luggage through whilst my husband went to park the car, I checked in online prior which made the whole process seamless too I had room keys in my hand within a couple of minutes (no ridiculous queues)

Jonathan and Gary in concierge were absolutely amazing very helpful, they went the extra mile in when they managed to find a nail salon for me to get my nails done on NYE :) and even booked me the appt it was very last minute. Thanks guys for the very very warm welcome you’re both great representatives for the Radisson brand.

Hotel decor and rooms were all very lovely, comfortable beds and the rooms had all the amenities you typically require.

The Library bar was also another great place with lush cocktails, bar snacks and fantastic friendly staff, service was 10/10 .. you must try the 5th Avenue Tiffiny & Co cocktail.

Overall superb stay, wish we could have stayed longer will definitely be back again very soon 😁

We decided to pick this hotel because of the great reviews and location.

It was of a high standard with the staff and the hotel both great. The location was ideal as really central and very easy to walk to either the Deansgate area or the shops.

The room was furnished to a high standard and was also very clean and you could also tell that they were taking the pandemic seriously which meant you felt comfortable whilst within the Hotel.

Would highly recommend.

I stayed here with three friends on a weekend trip to Manchester. The price we paid included breakfast and a discount in the bar and restaurant so it was great value for money. The hotel was very busy so service was a little slow on the first morning for breakfast. There were a couple of issues unfortunately during our stay but we didn’t let it spoil our weekend. They were problems that could have been avoided and also dealt with easily. However, the duty manager actually dealt with us very poorly, he was so rude and condescending that it made me question why he was working in the leisure industry. He did make a feeble apology when we checked out but I believe only because he knew that I intended to report his behaviour. The majority of the staff were friendly and polite and the rooms were generally clean and comfortable. Do make sure that on check in, the reception team explain the light switch system for room service and that the room keys are working properly. The breakfast is definitely worth having.

Me and my partner stopped here for two nights and stayed in a premium city view room. The hotel is in a central location close to bars and a short walk from Oxford Road Station and a bit further to Piccadilly. We found the staff curtious and helpful and the hotel to be very nice and posh. We had a couple of issues in the room the first being the electric blinds were at different heights so when one closed the other still had some way to go causing damage to the lower blind. We contacted the customer services who said they would send someone but noone arrived meaning I had to go to reception and ask again. When the maintenance guy did arrive he said he would come back when we were out that night but he never did, again I had to ask at reception, for a 5 star hotel I wouldn't expect to have to ask for a fault to be resolved as many times as I did. In the end the problem was solved the next day. We also had a mark on the duvet cover which we left a note for the cleaner to change and they did. We made use of the spa facilities which are very nice and also had a drink in the bar which was also lovely. You get £15 per night complimentary credit on the city view rooms to spend in the bar or restaurant which is also a nice gesture.

Apologies about the poor communication between the maintenance team and reception on the first day when you raised your initial concern, its unacceptable that your issue with the blinds wasn't rectified quicker after you initially reporting this to us. Thank you for your patience and I'm pleased we were able to rectify your problem on the second day. I'm happy to read that you enjoyed the majority of your stay and the first day dint detract to much from your overall experience. Personally I would avoid this hotel at all costs. If you scroll through the reviews you will see that when things go wrong they go badly wrong and you will get absolutely nowhere with the staff in terms of sorting things out. Beware also fake reviews. There are too many really bad reviews for there to be so many entirely different experiences at the opposite end if the spectrum. The pool at the spa is also tiny with damp bench type seating around it because there’s no room for loungers and there is no flexibility as you have to pre book and if it’s booked out you won’t get in. . For better value, wonderful rooms, really lovely staff and a wonderful restaurant, I recommend the Dakota. Our flight home was cancelled and we would not have even considered staying another night in the Edwardian and moved to the Dakota, which was a whole different experience.
