The hotel is ideally placed within a five minute walk from Piccadilly train station and is perfectly suited for a visit to Manchester. On entering I received a warm welcome by the desk staff. Everything was explained very well about meals and procedures. It felt very safe. The room has a seal on the door and was immaculately clean with plenty of towels. I ate on the terrace and cannot fault the food or the service. The food was very tasty and excellent value. Breakfast was delivered to my room at the requested time by a very friendly member of staff. Despite it being room service the coffee and sausage sandwich were piping hot. I had to check out early to return home and the staff were very helpful. Overall a great stay and great value for money. I would recommend this hotel.

Hotel's Favourite
I stayed here twice, once for two nights and then again for one night. The digital key is great. Loved choosing my room and going straight to the room. You have to remember to collect your free drinks vouchers if you’re a Diamond member, I don’t understand why they cannot be placed in the room. The distancing procedures are great and at night I saw they had a security guard insisting everyone in the public areas wore a mask. The room was very clean and I noticed a lot of stuff that is normally there like the kettle and cups and glasses were removed, not sure why since surely they can be sterilized? I also noticed they stopped providing free newspapers, you used to be able to collect them from reception but obviously they have been removed but I would have expected my personal free copy to be delivered to the room. The restaurant is well set up and distancing was good. Staff all wore masks which was good. Overall, I think the hotel is great with lots of great adaptations. Pity some things that could still be available are not. Recommended!

Hello Phil It is so wonderful to get such a a great review from you especially recognizing the new measures in place to keep everyone safe. Being a Diamond member we value your comments especially on the drinks vouchers. We have made some changes to the room with some items removed and the tea and coffee facilities including kettle are now hiding in a draw with Paper cups at this time. We have stopped hard newspapers but have a online newspaper site that our valued guests can access - I will check that the team are fully aware of how to access this for your next stay. Let us know when you are visiting again and we will make sure that we have everything ready for you. Thanks again for recommending us.

This is a strange combination. Public areas are up to Doubletree brand standard, but they are attached to rooms/elevator/corridors that are done to a much cheaper 'Premier Inn' standard. The hotel is open to key workers during lockdown, and rates were very reasonable (sub £100 which is low for a Doubletree standard hotel in Manchester pre COVID). However, the restaurant charges £18 for breakfast (fair price for the standard) against a room which was £70 (actually fair for the standard). That's not a normal balance. Pros: - friendly efficient staff - great location opposite the station, whilst not suffering from being a congested station hotel. The restaurant backs onto a pedestrian area, with a nice terrace. My room overlooked a canal and historic buildings. Great overall combination. - the hotel is taking very visible COVID measures without just shutting down. So you can get a full cooked breakfast (but you have to preorder), and you can use the gym (but you need to ask for a quantity limited pass at the front desk) - food quality was high (great croissants) Cons: - the rooms are not good. Small, scuffed, cheaply furnished. It is still very new, and so it looks clean and fresh. However, everything has been done to the lowest standard. For example the flush mechanism in the bathroom is the sort you practically need to pump to make work. - 3 elevators but one was out of order. They were also very slow moving. I could imagine congestion if the hotel were busier. I would definitely stay again if the price were right - the rooms were clean, and everything else is good. However, if the price were well above £100 per night, I wouldn't consider the room product good enough. Note - I am Hilton Diamond and was therefore upgraded beyond the basic standard of room, to a deluxe.

They said the hotel was only for Key healthcare workers. But we saw three business check out and we asked them and they confirmed they were on business. Receptionist said they have no manger or GM and no complaint procedure , To be frank they didn't want to work. We checked into another hotel. We called back afterwards to make a complaint and the receptionist just hangs up. I think this is a franchised hotel. We contacted Hilton Head Office who said they couldn't get hold of the GM they were off for a week. We contacted Amex that did the booking they also said when they called the Hotel they staff were abrupt. I am very sad as have never had a bad experience or incident before at a Hilton.

Dear Mr Harrris, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback online. We are looking forward to welcoming guests back to our hotel without the frustration and confusion of the Government guidelines. We understand that the customer journey at our hotel is very different at the moment, and we apologise that expectations are not always met. I hope that you are not deterred from staying in Hilton Hotels in the future. Regards
