Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Cute little place for a 2 night stay. Inquired early about checking in before 2pm as we had landed early from a flight from US. They accommodated an hour early, thank you. Meg whom had worked both days we were there was absolutely lovely. Very friendly and helpful, they hired a gem. Breakfast was part of our stay and was delicious. Wish we had time to have another meal during our stay. Room itself (loft) had enough room for 2 people. Downgrade to 4 is due to following: 1. Overall cleanliness of room. Absolutely needs a good deep clean. 2. Lighting in room could be improved, hard to get ready. 3. NO HOT WATER for shower. Luke warm for first few minutes then straight to cold. Unacceptable. 4. Add facial tissues (Kleenex) to room.

This hotel is above a bar just near the back of the Arndale centre so central. Room was comfy and nice. Breakfast is served in the bar and was a bit slow and eggs a bit under done. They have gluten free options. There was a slight smell of drains in the bar and up the hotel stairs and the staff were a bit unwelcoming at first as we arrived about an hour before check in, but the bar staff were nice at breakfast. The TV woke us up at 7 as someone had set an alarm on it and workmen were working in the street from 7.30 so not ideal, think we just timed it wrong.

We had a lovely 1 night stay, the hotel was perfect for our needs and price point in a great location, would definitely stay again! The room was very clean and modern, it had a good size tv and the bathroom was very clean. It’s a very short walk to the arndale centre and just a good position in general.

We booked the Abel Heywood as it is ideally located in the Northern Quarter. The room was nice but the hotel smelt musty. The down side was the shower had no hot water just cold. Not ideal. Toilet needed a good clean as it looks like it had been missed.

Overall extremely well located, room was lovely, bathroom let it down slightly in terms of cleanliness and decor. Lovely pub, breakfast was fab. Close to lots of great paces for food, close to tram (Sudehill).

Took a long time to get someone’s attention on arrival. Room tiny. Double room, but only enough room for one bedside table. No hot water in shower, so couldn’t use it. No staff around to alert and couldn’t hang around as had train to catch. Glad it was just a one night stay.

Arrived here and was welcomed by the receptionist who explained everything.the bar had a good atmosphere. On going up to the room it smelled like raw sewage and this continued into the room.when entering the room it was dark and very small no room around the bed the bed was up against the wall.the room was that small you could not pass each other. As for the bathroom you could not get in without going sideways in.if you look on the pictures this room is not shown so avoid if your travelling as a couple.

Nice little hotel in a great location, close to bars and restaurants of the northern quarter. Lovely bar area where I believe the food to be good although we didn’t eat here on this occasion. Nice for a nightcap though! Staff friendly and great cocktails at a decent price. Only comments were, we didn’t have any coffee in the room, although we did have tea and the water temp wasn’t really hot enough to shower and pressure was very low.
