We stayed for one night with our dog, after arriving in Colmar to find that our original hotel was closed due to COVID.

The hotel staff were friendly, and the hotel is centrally located. We parked the car in the secure car park on the edge of town (5-10 minutes walk) for 15 Euros/overnight, and then walked everywhere we needed to go.

We had a regular double room - it was spacious and charming. Bits of the room were worn - the toilet bowl had staining from the water, the window nets had a few holes, but the hotel was clean. We slept well, although in the summer if you need to sleep with the windows open, the rooms along the road would be louder.

My brother and I had planned to stay here for one night in February, while we toured around Alsace on the wine road tasting the marvelous Alsatian Grand Cru Rieslings throughout the area. But, we loved this hotel so much that we ended up staying almost a week there and using it as the base for our regional explorations. Absolutely wonderful hotel, and very low prices for the quality of the lodgings, service and breakfast (which is included). The location is great, just a few feet from the picturesque canals of the Petit Venise, with attractive buildings and shops all around. The staff is very cordial and accommodating and the breakfast is over the top in terms of variety and quality. I cannot recommend the Hotel le Colombier highly enough!

We stayed at the Hotel le Colombier Suite in the main street for 2 nights this summer. The location is very central and right at La Petite Venise, a few steps from the river and bridge. The suite is very clean and secured, with multiple key enabled doors. I like the design of the interior very much, simple design with a mixed use of leather and wood in the room. We stayed on the top room, so extra high ceiling with moon roof, very spacious. We enjoyed the stay very much.

Correct, but with a lot of shortcomings
Hotel in the very center of the city. Very big problems with parking. Either you fill in the parking meter every day or you stay far away from the hotel. Quiet hotel, slightly older clientele. A small gym (only a bike and treadmill and two dumbbells) and a sauna. Nothing to do for the kids. And most importantly - very poor breakfasts. Poor choice of dishes. Only cold scrambled eggs (not rotten eggs, but powder). Ready-made pancakes unpacked from a supermarket package - NOT HEATED. No warm omelettes, sausages, etc .... no possibility to order anything hot. And the eternal queue for one coffee machine. Overall a bit too expensive hotel for such conditions.

Arrived at the hotel to be given a room in their building across the road from the hotel. The room was the size of a prison cell with dark green walls, which was very depressing. Could hardly move, let alone get our 2 suitcases in. They gave us a room which was bigger in the hotel which was fine. The mattress was like laying on a brick, but they put a blanket under the sheet, which did help a bit. The toilet was in a little room next to the bathroom with no sink which became a total pain as you had to keep going into the bathroom to wash your hands. The shower was very good, lots of room and the room very clean.
There was a coffee machine, no milk and no tea even though the description did say tea and coffee in room. For €177 per night I expect better. The breakfast was really disappointing. Very tight area and too many people around one coffee machine and quite frankly nothing special. A small 2 hot plate to keep eggs warm and a pot wit bacon which was swimming in fat. Really off off putting.
If you are staying in Colmar I think max 2 nights is enough. The hotel is really central to the old part of Colmar which is great, however if you want some hospitality this is not the hotel to stay in. We felt that the hotel was just a money machine with no character and really very little in the way of service. On checking out, we weren’t even asked if we’d enjoyed our stay, so no didn’t feel we were a valued customer.

Dear Guests, We thank you very much to take time to share your feeling after your stay at le Colombier. It is nice for us to read that you find our hotel very central in the city. All the rooms are different, we have 3 buildings in total, so it is good that we make the changing to give you a room with more space and other colors. Do not hesitate to ask some assistance for milk or tea in the room. We will share your good words about the cleanliness of the rooms to the service. Concerning the breakfast, we have note your comment. we serve a buffet breakfast with large choice of several sorts of cheese, charcuterie, yogourt, juice, bread, seeds... with a large part of local products some of them bio. We are sorry if this one did not meet your expectations. Your comment about the hospitality caught our attention and we will make sure we will have no feedack like this in the future. We stay of course at your disposal for any other questions you may have. Sincerely yours AS Heitzler

Stayed 3 nights in a good modern decorated and appointed room. Worth paying the extra cost for such a perfect exploring location in the heart of Petite Venise
Staff very helpful and friendly - highly recommend.
Parking is difficult in the area and the hotel's garage is expensive.

As you indicate, we are ideally located in the heart of the city, starting point to visit the center on foot. We take the liberty of informing you that the price of our garage is about the same as a parking space in the street or in the closed car parks of the city. We hope to welcome you another time in our charming hotel. Best regards Claudine FLEITH

The hotel has two buildings located across the street of each other. Our building was newly renovated and had a sauna and the gym. The parking was on the street, though, but it didn’t cost a lot, the travelers could also use one of the parkings located nearby.

My sister and I planned to stay a couple of days in Colmar on our 2 week trip. We were greeted by an unpleasant man who was too lazy to help with our bags. He asked if we needed the luggage rack, then said we didn’t. He shoved us in the elevator with our luggage and we were left to fend for ourselves. My sister asked to park our car the garage, but she was told it was unavailable, so we had to pay for street parking and move the car to avoid a ticket. Once we were in our room we noticed how dirty and disgusting the floor was. Our refrigerator was broken and the mini bar options were limited. We were only given 1 towel. Needless to say, we checked out the next day. No wonder the hotel was vacant. The desk reps were pleasant and checked our reservation, confirming that the room we originally ordered was changed. The town itself seems quite charming. We will definitely visit again, just not at Le Colombier in Colmar, France!

This is one of the nicest, coziest hotels I've visited. It was such a treat and pleasant surprise that we had connecting doors with our children, as we first thought our rooms were on separate stairways and floors. Our dog was treated to bowls and treats. We got a free bottle of water. Very clean, staff is friendly, enjoyable breakfast. What's not to like. Only minus was the parking - the parking lot was full; You have to order a space beforehand - we didn't know and had to park publically in front of the hotel.

We wanted to have a comfortable nice stay with little extra so we booked a suite. What we got was room 512 "the rip off room". Facts; long dark hallway, huge bathroom (takes most of the suite m2) 2 armchairs under pitched roof as your livingroom, little round table with chair as you workplace, the rock hard bed with tiny shelf on the side and some spotlihgts upp in the ceiling for all the lighting in the room. Complimentary stuff suite level; 1 little bottle of water,2 coffecapsules, 2 tiny bars of soap and 2 bodylotion and 2 bathrobes, both size M. Nothing luxurios or welcoming in this room, no ambiance, no cosy lightning or any decor elements just dark, uncomfortable, cheap and not really user friendly. Looks like gymnasium with a boxing ring. Designed by somebody who never staied in the hotel before? In the morning we discovered the reason for bad night sleep and back pain; bedmatress turn upside down instead for replacening it.This is not OK! Actually we tried to change the room immediately after check in,but got som lame excuses from the woman working at the front desk. She was arrogant and not accommodating so we just gave up. Breakfast is not worth the money. Served in garage, not a big selection of food and "somebody" thougt it was a good idea to put allt the cold fooditmes under big industrial heating fan.Cold cuts looked like freshly out from an air fryer, all crispy on edges.Such a waste of products. We paid for the suite but this room was not a suite in a 4star hotel, the best they have to offer(just read their own description of the suites on the hotel website). We travel a lot and this was the worts suite we ever had. This was total rip off.

Dear Guest, We took good note of this second online review after your stay in our establishment. So for the second time, we will reply to you. Once again, we are sorry to read your dissatisfaction concerning the Suite in our renovated building. We always do our best for our client but unfortunately, we were fully booked that day and all our clients were already in at your late arrival. That is why, we were not able to propose you another room of the same category. We thank you for the photo of the drawing. However, please note that all our rooms are well equipped and perfectly reflect our standard and services. Same as it perfectly match the photo presented on booking.com where you made your booking. We also showed you on the website the photos of this Suite to demonstrate you that it is the correct room category. Regarding the complementary amenities, we put all in the room for two persons. Please note that it is with pleasure that our reception can provide you some other coffe capsules, soaps or towels (if you ask for it)… Our staff is at your entire disposal 24h/24hours. We are currently undertaking renovation works in our lobby, reception area and breakfast room and we are sorry for any inconvenience this might cause. That is why the breakfast room moved temporary to another space (but you can find exactly same products as usually). We can understand your dissatisfaction for this point and for that reason, we offer you the breakfast as compensation. However, we inform every client of this renovation before the stay and we do our best every day to make the stay of our client more comfortable. Regarding, the bed mattress, after to have checked with our houskeeper it is true that itw as in the bad way (but there was no cleanliness problem with it). When we are wrong, we are totally fine to admit it and we are really sorry for this problem. We can assure you that the only thing that matters for us is our guests’ satisfaction. If you want to come back one day in Colmar and in our establishment, do not to hesitate to contact us directly. We are sure that we will be able to do something for you. Best Regards, Marie Front Desk Manager
