My husband and I planned to stay in Strasbourg for two nights, before embarking on barge cruise. We narrowed our choices to the very modern five-star Le Regent Petite France Hotel (where the cruise group was meeting) and the nearby four-star Hotel Le Bouclier d'Or. Both hotels were perfectly located in the historic section of town called La Petite France....

Stayed two nights in this beautiful hotel in a picturesque setting in its own little compound. Extremely comfortable and well-appointed rooms, gracious owners and staff and it's close to everything in Strasbourg. Exceptional breakfast service in a sunny, gorgeous dining room. Only question is why this has "only" a four-star" rating.

The choice of hotels in Strasbourg is simple.....stay at Hotel Le Bouclier d'Or. No room for disappointment here. The staff was welcoming and eager to help in any way, both prior to arrival and during our stay. Special thanks to Fleur for arranging restaurant reservations and answering questions about things to do in Strasbourg. Our rooms (on the 4th floor)...

We stayed four nights in Hotel Le Bouclier d'Or on the first leg of a two week trip to France in April 2017. We arrived by train directly from Paris (CDG airport) and it was a short taxi ride to the hotel. Although our room wasn't quite ready at 1:30 PM, by the time we'd gone for a stroll and...

On our recent tour of the Alsace and Switzerland this hotel was truly outstanding. Hotel Le Bouclier d'Or was beyond immaculate and furnished with beautiful antiques. The staff went above an beyond to ensure that our three day stay was comfortable and that we had dinner reservations at wonderful spots. We have traveled to France many times and never have...

We spent several days at another hotel on the other side of Strasbourg, then spent several days in Colmar, then several more in Interlaken, Switzerland. This hotel was my favorite of all the places we stayed. The decor is beautiful and the staff is exceptional. Our room, Chambre 7, overlooked the courtyard and, though we could hear music and activity...

Our trip from Frankfurt to Luxembourg and through Alsace and finally to Heidelberg, allowed us to sample new hotels along the way. Hotel Le Bouclier d'Or was by far our favorite! Located in adorable Petite France and within walking distance to the Cathedral, shopping, and restaurants, this boutique hotel was a wonderful experience. Not knowing where to park our rental,...

Well, I don't claim to have the last word in authenticity, but I definitely felt like I was on vacation here. I absolutely loved the spa (it's included with your room booking btw) and it was the first place I stayed on my entire eurotrip that had a hot tub. The classic interior made me feel like I was staying...

Our stay was perfect from start to finish. Upon arrival, we were greeted in the courtyard by a cheerful valet who took our car for parking nearby. The property is absolutely charming, from the sunny breakfast room to the richly decorated lobby and bar, to our elegant room that overlooked a small cobbled street. The center patio area is pretty...

This hotel is perfect. Clean, stylish, appealing, warm, welcoming. The bar serves great drinks and small eats in the afternoon. Room service available and is fairly good. Breakfast was the only thing that didn't feel quite up to snuff, but that's more our preference for hot breakfast items-- Europeans will likely love the selection. Service is excellent, spa is beautiful,...
