Set in Bordeaux, only 5 minutes away from the train station, "La Halte Montaigne" (built in 1870) boasts a terrace and views of the garden and has been hosting customers for more than 5 years. Each room is air conditioned and features a flat-screen TV. Every room is fitted with a private bathroom equipped with a shower. Extras include free toiletries and a hairdryer. Providing private parking, "La Halte Montaigne" also features free WiFi throughout the property. We strive to offer you a unique and memorable experience in Bordeaux, the heart of French most famous wine region. In particular, people tend to remember: - our delicious home-made breakfast every morning (fresh orange juice and viennoiseries guaranteed!) - the welcoming atmosphere throughout the property - our quiet garden that offers a great place to rest in the shadow (or not) after a day spent walking across the city - and our rooms, of course... Do not trust the reviews. Come and check for yourself!

Detailed Reviews
This is the second time I have stayed at this Bed and Breakfast and even though it is under new management it didn't disappoint. This time visited with family and so we had an extra bed in the room for our daughter. The room was still comfy and very clean. The breakfast was great and filled us up. It is just a shame that is was raining and so we couldn't make use of the lovely hidden away garden.
It is well located being near the train station. There is a tram stop nearby, but you can also walk in to the centre in about 30 minutes.
I have recommended La Halte Montalgne to a number of people and I wouldn't hesitate to do so again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Isabelle Gevry lovely La Halte Montaigne. Close to the main train station, it was a perfect place for us to relax after turning in our leased car on a Friday and taking the TGV to Paris on Saturday afternoon.
Isabelle has created a clean and well-designed maison d'hôtes. The garden is perfect for a picnic of foods and wine from the local shops, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the breakfast worth getting up for. Plus Isabelle herself is a great source of information and assistance with regard to the local resources and sites.
Highly recommended!

I stayed with my mother for 4 nights. The house is as beautiful as it looks in the photos. Isabelle could not be nicer, she marked out places and routes for us to visit and her breakfast was delicious with lots of strong coffee and great bread and cheese among other things. There's also facilities to make tea at other times in the little kitchen for guests. I was wondering how comfortable it would be to share a bed with my mum for four nights but the bed was good and big and very comfortable, felt like a foam mattress. The location is 5 minutes walk to Gare St Jean where you can get the tram into the centre of the city or trains out of the city. Would definitely stay again.

We booked this B&B because of its convenience for the station, and were not disappointed in any way. Our room was very comfortable and the proprietor - Isabelle - provides more than generous breakfasts with bread, croissants, and pain de chocolat all bought at 7.00am each morning from the local boulangerie (Desre).
The town centre is about 20 minutes walk away (alternatively, a tram ride from the station), and Isabelle gave us good advice on where to find a range of restaurants for our evening meals.

+1
In the end, all my concerns about street noise staying a short distance away from the train station dissolved as soon as we arrived at La Halte Montaigne and settled into our corner room at the back of the house on a narrow side street. We could not have asked for a more pleasant and comfortable two night stay in Bordeaux, early check-in was available, the hostess was very accommodating, friendly and a delight to talk to. Our ensuited room was spacious, plenty of fresh air and light, a small TV (didn't use), good WIFI, comfortable bed and pillows, and peaceful at night. The B&B was a five minute walk to the train station, trams and a great restaurant and Canele store recommended by the hostess. The walk into the centre was not picturesque, took about twenty five minutes. The highlight of the stay was the delicious breakfast, good conversations with other guests and the hostess, as well as spending a relaxing time in the rear enclosed courtyard with a cuppa and a book. Highly recommend and would look no further if I was to return to Bordeaux.

We only had one night in Bordeaux, between two train trips. We chose Halte Montaigne for it close proximity to Gare St Jean. But when we return it will be because of the warmth of the owner/hostess, the delicious breakfast, and the comfort of the room. She helped us with tram information to see La Cite de Vin, a fun and educational modern museum and recommended a restaurant by the train station, Bouillon St. Jean, where I had the best dinner of our trip to France. Their Beef Bourguignon was great and only cost 10.50 euros!
We will be back to Bordeaux as we did not give it enough time, and we will be back to Halte Montaigne.

We stayed 7 nights and had a most enjoyable stay. The hotel is about 5 minutes walk from the station and about 25 minutes to the main town. There is a tram service at just under 2 euros.
The room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was substantial (usual French breakfast). There is a small kitchen area for guests to make tea/coffee with a fridge. Guests were also able to eat in the evening in the patio area.
Isabelle runs the hotel and is very friendly, helpful and good fun. She speaks good English as well and will offer good advice on the various tourist attractions. If we should ever visit Bordeaux again we would only stay at this hotel. Duly recommended.

We stayed 4 days at B&B La Halte Montaigne. Our room was lovely, roomy, quiet and comfortable. And the location was very handy to the train station and the trams to the middle of the city. But the thing that made this B&B stand out was our extraordinary host Isabelle. Isabelle is a wonderful host who takes a sincere interest in her guests. She went a long way out of her way to make sure our travels went well. We strongly recommend this B& B for anyone travelling to Bordeaux

This B&B is very well-located, maybe 5 minutes from the Central train station. The hostess is very helpful with recommendations for meals, walking tours etc and she is really terrific about accommodating food sensititivies. Didn't hesitate about ways to be helpful.
The rooms are spacious, clean and well-furnished.

This excellent B&B is some 10 mins walk, and reasonably easy to find, from Gare St Jean railway station where you can link into Bordeaux's tram & bus network. The airport shuttle also terminates at GSJ. Stayed for 5 nights in a downstairs room which whilst basic was certainly both quiet and comfortable. Good breakfast. Nice host who can point you in the right direction for restuarants and things to do. Would definitely recommend.

Guter Abend
Sorry aber mein Deutsch ist nicht sehr gut ! Die Gegend, am Abend, ist sicher. Das Haus ist in einer sehr ruhigen Strasse.
Viel Spass in Bordeaux.
