The road system of Pau, like many other cities, can be a problem. Finding Parking Clemenceau had us circling several times but once we got in life became simple. A kind English lady took pity and guided us to the appropriate exit for Hotel Le Bourbon. Yes the entrance does lie between a corner cafe and a shop - but... More

THE ROOM: We had a pleasant surprise at our arrival, as we had booked a double room and we were given one for three persons. Despite this, we were pretty disappointed with the actual state of the bedroom: it had a very outdated feeling (windows that don't close well, mushy smell that comes from either the carpet or the curtains...).... Good location on Place Clémenceau but impossible to approach by car given the incomprehensible road system, sat nav almost imploded! Finally abandoned car at Parking Clémenceau and walked short distance to the hotel. Hotel looks impressive on the booking website, but then.... don't they all? The reality is a little different, tired room, strangely configured bathroom although the view across... More

In haste, I mistook the star rating on a booking website for the hotel's star rating. Thus we arrived at a tiny entrance to a lobby at the foot of a flight of stairs to reception. A two person lift was round a curve to the right. All the photos of the hotel tell a charming story: the reality is... More

The hotel is very well located downtown Pau within the pedestrian area. So it is convenient to explore the town. Nothing more. The hotel is very old and not well maintained. Problems with the windows that do not shut properly, and with the shower that does not stick in position. Furniture is old in the bedrooms. Very old and not... More

The location of this hotel seems ideal, but the Square was very noisy all night with drunks etc. The room was nice, staff were OK ( not over friendly) but it seemed a very impersonal place. Would not stay again. Lots of other places to choose from. Pau is a lovely place to visit.

I came in late, got my room an went to bed. The room was clean and quite pretty, neither big nor small. It was on the first floor, facing the square, and since it was warm, I slept with open windows. There was sometimes a little noise from outside. Close by, there are lots of cafes and shops, even a... More

Great staff, a nice and well-priced breakfast with delicious coffee, and a nice view in a central part of the city. The rooms could stand a renovation, but are clean, comfortable, and quiet. The hotel is quite close to the touristy and nightlife areas, so you won't need to drive. Pau is a good base for exploring this region of France,... More

In a traffic free zone (except to locals) you need a SatNav. Reasonable rooms for a cheap price. Very High tech in an old building. No real views. Excellent Breakfast with good coffee. Good and friendly receptionist (The Proprietor I think). Who is a 'propeller head' Car parking is under the main square and 200metres from the hotel. your bags... More

Good sized room, had everything you needed, friendly desk staff, yes it's not luxury but for 67 euro what are you expecting ? AND it has the most amazing view from your balcony of the gorgeous square below but make sure your window is properly closed at bedtime or you hear all the revellers coming home in the early hours....
