At first go we found it difficult to find our way into the walls - which actually is quite easy when you know how. We were fortunate to be able to park the car in their closed garage which has great atmosphere redolent of ancient wood. The hotel is in a tight spot with entertaining curling stairs. The room was... we did not try the hotel. But the restaurant shoulf really be better known. Do not go there for extravaganza, as brilliantly prepared traditional cuisine is the tag line of the place. Whether starters (try the 'emince de tourteau', ie crab meat), main courses (ahhh, the lamb, with its variety of fresh vegetables and frites on the side!), or tasty... More

The hotel was very comfortable with very friendly staff. The room was clean and modern with a nice sea view. The restaurant was excellent and again the staff were very friendly and helpful. Although no lift the stairs were not a problem, We took them up on the secure parking and although not next to the hotel was only about... More

Having been here many times during the 70s and 80s my wife and I had to visit for old times sake. What a difference ! In the past the restaurant provided very good typical French food. This visit was a revelation, in that the food was definitely up market, top French cuisine. We both selected the E43.00 Menu which had... More

This is a tale of two halves..... The real plus is obviously the location, you simply cannot get better. Unfortunately the hotel prides itself on its longevity, but really and truly you cannot accommodate today's travellers in rooms that have seen better days. I would question the "complete renovation in 2011" tagline, Our room was brilliant for the view, and... More

The hotel is in a good spot and the room was a reasonable size. However, I left wondering whether it was really worth the money because the room was small and very hot. When you open the door to the air conditioned corridor the room cooled down but otherwise there was no way of reducing the temperature in our bedroom.... More

This is an absolutely perfectly-situated hotel with a warm family welcome and great service. We had two rooms and both were comfortable. One room had a problem with the plumbing and a member of the family (La "Chef", I believe, they called her) came and fixed it right away, even though it was late at night. The breakfast was delicious,... More

Room on third floor with great view over the sea, yes a bit small but very clean and well appointed. Stairs a bit steep - no lift - but worth it for view. Handy to visit St Malo and only five minutes to ferry port. Staff very welcoming and breakfast in the morning was good and allowed plenty of time... More

We stayed here before and after a ferry crossing. It is very conveniently situated for the ferry and also inside the old city walls for exploring the town. The rooms are very small as you would expect from it's situation, the stairs are steep but it is very clean, welcoming and a great position. The family speak English so ferry... More
