Some of the other reviews may have mixed opinions, but I think I made good choice. The staff were friendly and welcoming at the reception desk and at breakfast and they spoke English when I got stuck :-). The room was clean, warm and comfortable, I slept very well and there was good-sized shower in the en-suite. The hotel is...

Ideally situated near the old town. Be careful, all the rooms do not have a sea viewing. Depending on the price. We get a room over the patio, with the home of Chateaubriand just in front of. Were there to go on his grave too (at low tide). Fantastic

Very disappointed with this hotel. Not much effort made to make you feel welcome. Advert stated 'most if our rooms have a sea view' surprise surprise, no sea view. Bedside lamps not working. Reported to reception. Only fixed one. Tried to call room service as the pamphlet on table said 'dial zero for reception' Couldn't find the phone in the...

It's a shame when one's impressions are spoiled on arrival. I booked, and had evidence of, a twin-bedded room but was shown to a room with only a double bed. It then took a Mexican Stand-Off with the receptionist to obtain the required accommodation, leaving an unpleasant initial perception. Also, when I initially checked my credit card account (no receipt...

This hotel is perfectly situated beside the old city walls, with views over the beach to the old fort, and central for eateries and shopping. We booked a superior room with sea view and were not disappointed with the view. The room was sufficiently large and the bed comfortable, with a desk and comfortable arm chair. The bathroom was fine,...

Chateaubriand is a beautiful hotel located steps from the beach and ramparts. Step outside and you are immersed in Chateaubriand Square with all the lovely cafes. The tourist information office is close just outside the walls. Parking was a bit of a challenge, but we otherwise had a great stay. There was a very nice girl at the desk.

the hotel is ok but the room could be more comfortable. there is no air conditioning in room so you have open the window to get air. however we had a room facing the ramparts so there are people constantly walking along and and able to look in the room. the bed and pillows are too soft. overall the hotel...

Perfect location but that is about it really. It was quite pricey for the room we had and the drinks in the ground floor bar were very expensive. I know you pay for the location of the property but compared to other hotels we have stayed in within the walls of St Malo it very average.

Stayed here last year at the same time so decided to visit again. It's ideally situated in the centre of St Malo and the courtyard is an oasis of calm. We contacted the hotel months in advance to ask if we could reserve the same room, they said no problem and booked it for us. When we arrived we were...

Excellent location is a pretty town. Well prepared room with superb view. Excellent access to St Malo and friendly staff. Glad we chose to stay there - it really made the trip. We recommend the hotel and next time we'll try the food.
