Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I stayed here for two nights while visiting Saint Malo. The room is straight from the 80’s, floor boards make noise every time someone walks by your room. They give you a nice robe and slippers. Room has a super tiny TV and a coffee maker. Only one or two English language channels on TV.
Front desk staff was great and spoke good English, can’t say the same about the restaurant staff where only few people were able to communicate with you. Food at the restaurant was very good! Every dinner received a bite size complimentary appetizer. Wine selection was weak, but wine selected was very good. Breakfast was disappointing.

First night the TV flickered blue and red light in the middle of the night all of the sudden, the next night I returned to my room only to find my window WIDE OPEN. I reported it to the front desk and they were like “it’s fine”. No, it is not fine, not sure if someone had gained access to the room, or if this place was haunted. Front desk girl said it was the wind, but I requested another room regardless, I was not comfortable staying there.

Taxis will pick you up from the street, so be ready to carry your own bags through the garden. And taxis there only take cash.

The hotel is walking distance from the beach, board walk, and 25min walk to the train station.

We enjoyed our stay and, depending on price, would consider staying on a return trip to Saint Malo. But across the board, the property felt more like a three star than a four star hotel. Which is fine, depending on whether you are paying four or three star prices. We paid closer to four star... The staff was uneven, with some super helpful and attentive and others who were not looking for solutions and just trying to "check the box" with their service. Not worth going into, but we had a couple questions/issues that required staff interaction during our stay. Loved the location, solid 25m walk to the walled city, which may not work for all, but worked for us. A friendly, beautiful end of town (still w/ enough restaurants to leave us self sufficient).

Our room number 2 was outdated and the decor was appalling. We were thankful we didn't need tge bed settee as it looked dirty and old. The TV cable was stretched vertically up the wall and there were obvious holes with filler where something had been moved. We booked this hotel as we wanted the last night of our holiday to be special. It wasn't.

We were with a tour group booked into the hotel. Service at the desk was very good and handled our group very quickly. The room was very nice, clean, and well maintained. The hotel amenities were very nice and we ate in the restaurant there on one night. The only thing preventing a five star rating was the fact that the hotel's bar was not open in the afternoon and early evening. Our group liked to have a glass of wine before dinner and that was not available. Very nice hotel.

Good location near to the beach, beautiful garden, very good restaurant. Personnel is very friendly and helpful. Family suites are very small, bathroom also. No real air conditioning. Swimming pool is large, but very basic style. Breakfast buffet nothing exceptional, but you can order extras in the kitchen.

Nice hotel, very close to Saint Malo's main beach. Very classy but ideal for families with kids - see swimming pool. Hotel staff very kind and always attentive.

Very good location, Rooms are very confortable and the garden is very nice to have a drink or lunch. The team is great, warm and friendly. Very close location to the beach and the sunset. You have some shops very close around the hotel like bakery, supermarket and drugstore. It takes around 25 mm walk along the see side to the city center.

We chose this hotel for the spa and relaxation area. Surprise on arrival - Spa closed during the whole of our 2 day stay. Swimming pool closed! No wifi in the bedroom!
Don’t set your expectations too high, this hotel has nothing to do with 4 star facilities.
No comment about the personnel, the lack of facilities is out of their hands and apparently in 2023 everything will be perfect so don’t hold your breath!

Bien cordialement Florence Abadie
