We were enchanted by this small hotel full of charm. Our room on the second floor overlooked the river. There is antique furniture a bit everywhere The spiral staircase is lovely even though a little tricky as the steps are very narrow. The bathroom was spotless, the towels fluffy. The bed was a bit small and not the best and... More

We were here with a group of 16 cyclists. I was very, very lucky to arrive at hotel and the door to be open due in part that there were still lunch guests in the restaurant. During the booking process I wasn't made aware that the door would be locked until 5pm. That all said it took 35 minutes to... More

We only stayed 2 days at Inter-George Sand Hotel but we enjoyed it. However, the check-in at this hotel is quite late (5-7pm) when the reception is open/manned. As we arrived before 4 with two tired girls aged 8 and 2, I would have liked to check-in to allow the girls to rest before going out for dinner in town.

We arrived at the George Sands just after 5 pm in pouring rain only to find the hotel door still locked - our info from Booking.com said reception is only open between 5 and 7 pm. We sat in the car for another 10 minutes and returned - still locked! We tried ringing the bell - it didn't work. We... More

After reading reviews was apprehensive but found it a good hotel in many ways. For the price it compares a lot better than some expensive hotels we have stayed in during our trip across France. The staff were pleasant and made an effort even though our French is minimal. My husband eats a bland diet and they catered for his... More

We booked this hotel last year and arrived at 5 pm to find it closed. When eventually they opened, the room they showed us stank of smoke and was very tatty. When we asked for an alternative it was even grottier and they wanted to charge us more for it. The restaurant looked as if it hadn't been open for... More

An Ok hotel in a very old building. The staires is not for people with leg problems. Great food but breakfast was not the same standard. Nice diningroom with the stream outside. Good with free parking on the backside.

Last minute unplanned stop saw us check in here which was the first hotel we came to open at this time of year. The building is old and quaint. We needed a twin room and it was so cold we turned on the heat then left to find somewhere to eat as the hotel restaurant was closed..... a few places... More

Idyllic location, what a pity the service, food and rooms are not up to it... Stopped for a croissant at the patisserie next door and were captivated by the view, river and park surrounding the area - we decided to ask if there was a room available - and there was, unfortunately. Nobody helped with the luggage up the wonderful,... More

Great character hotel backing onto a canal. The only frustration was the wifi reception, but the walls were very thick as it is a very old building. Just used the desk downstairs by reception, which worked fine. The buffet breakfast was excellent.

“Rooms at the back would be much quieter and would have river views.”

“Always booked rooms facing the river and park. Room 9 on the first floor is of good size family room with a double and two single that you can join to make another double bed. The bathroom lacks proper shower as the shower is fixed 'below the knee' level. The drain cover in the bath didn't fit so we were not able to relax in the bath. Other than that, we had a restful two nights' sleep at this hotel. We would certainly come back again. ”
