We arrived at the beginning of the afternoon not knowing the check in was later. The owner was extremely rude and lectured us on the fact we were too early. As we say in French: “la patronne n’est pas sympa..”. The whole stay was a disaster as the owner continued to be very nasty when we came back after diner.... More

Sometimes in life hotel service and hospitality received is so bad you wonder why people are in the trade, and why you bother to try and stay at their establishment and for these reason I have written on here. This supposed chateau is now in need of major repair and if you want a romantic or family break then give... More

If you are looking to experience "chateau living," then this is the place for you! Beautiful home and property with charming rooms furnished in traditional antique french decor. It feels as if you've stepped back in time to an era of elegance and class. A delicious breakfast was served in the most picturesque dinning room. The chateau owner was very... More

Chambres d'hôtes du Château de Champvallins is a kind of private stately home. Do not await a typical hotel. Go there if you are looking for a unique and most charming place which takes you on a time journey into the glory days of the Loire valley. We were very warmly welcomed by the owner who runs it with her... More

I stayed two days with wife and kid in July 2013 Good points: great pool, beautiful garden, very comfortable room Average: no tv in room, no wifi Bad points: this is not a hotel, so be prepared for zero service. The owner was not the nicest person on earth and always looked bored or unhappy with something. It's the kind... More

We stayed at this chateau when we spent a weekend visiting the Loire valley. It was a pleasant treat to visit chateaus in the day and spend the night in one. The owner, is a very friendly and warm older lady who welcomed us with cold drinks after a long day. Although we didn’t speak much French and she didn’t... More

I think that I would have bored if I stayed at Chateau de Champvallins for more than two days just because of weather - it was raining, and without TV and Internet the place would be too quiet. Also, I can imaging reading some classic book seating at cozy chair next to the fire downstairs. During the summer it should... More

The Chateau is amazing and as good as the photographs suggest. The grounds are beautiful and the swimming pool would be excellent in the summer. The service is very good - tea/coffee and biscuits when you arrive, a drink before you go to bed (after coming back from dinner), and the breakfast was excellent in a dining room of substantial... An absolutely amazing Chateau. My wife and I did a driving holiday through the Loire Valley and then into Champagne and tried to stay at as many Chateaus as possible to try and have a unique and different experience. This was one of the better we stayed at. As soon as we pulled in, our breath was taken away by... More
