Actually it was nice for its price but rooms not clean enough. No elevator so you have to carry your luggage to the upstairs. Walls are really thin so you have to listen every single noise coming from the next room. But receptionist was always polite, helpful, cheerful. If you are looking an average hotel this is the right choice.

STAY AWAY! Room number 14 had bed bugs and I woke up covered in painfully itchy bites that took over a week to go away. I was then transferred to room 19 ("renovated" they said), which had the oldest and dirtiest carpet I've ever seen, tiny bed and was very cold (they said they would turn on the heating, never... Ironic this place is called Moderne. It's a throwback to the worst sort of seediness. My family and I showed up to be shown a room with plumber's glue all over the carpet, no door on the toilet, few functioning lights and an attempt to refurbish the bathroom plainly still in progress. The toilet was, in effect, unusable as it... More

This is a 2 star hotel and it shows. You get what you pay for so can't complain too much but I will outline some things; it looks really dated (as other reviews have mentioned), but it also SMELLS dated - there was a stale smoke smell lingering in the room. And sound problem I imagine depends on the room.... More

old hotel with old funeture, carpet and no elevator (we left one bag downstairs); lady receptionist was very kind and the price we payed around 60 euros justify the 2 stars and for only 1 night it is quite OK. however, to check the castle of loire valle, perhaps Tours is not the best city to stay, we recommend Blois.

Looks nice on the outside and it's on a quiet side street, but inside it is rather outdated. Also, the walls are rather thin and I was near the stairs so I could pretty much hear everyone walking up and down the stairs and people talking. One perk is it's a close walk to the train station, but that is... More

The description of the room and its facilities does not correspond to the reality: - no free WiFi, - so ceiling fan, - no "non-smoking" room. Moreover: continuously running water in the bathroom (the tap is always open!), broken electricity socket, closet dirty inside, the caped is also not cleaned, mini-bar is empty. We have booked a room for two... More

This is a modest hotel, adequate I would say. At the same time this hotel was really fabulous because the owners and staff made all the difference in my trip. I booked the least expensive room in the hotel but was treated as if I were the most important guest there. I didn't arrive until 2am but the owner waited... More

Well I have been traveling in Europe for over 2 months. Have stayed in allot of hotel rooms! not a great first impression here, but have to say management did immediately adress my cleanliness concerns... And yes the room was cleaned. but really not a great place, yuck moldy bathrooms! Needs a little bleach and elbow grease ! would have... More

For the right type of people, on the right type of trip, this is an excellent hotel. If you are on a budget and want to be in the centre of Tours it is a great place for a short stay. It is right next to the train station and very near to the main high street with its variety... More
