I had to have a hotel for a short stay in Montmatre neighbourhood and i picked this one. I walked from Gare du Nord to the hotel. The only thing i saw where indian shops. Inside the hotel was friendly staff. The room was very poor, a very old matress with dito sheets. You had to share bathroom and toilet....

This hotel lies in a central area of Paris and is situated close to 2 Metro stations. There are a few "interesting" shops (inexpensive) in the vicinity, but the area seems to have a "dubious" reputation amongst the locals. In any case, when I asked for directions, the people that answered insisted on accompanying me to the hotel door, because...

So decided for my 18th birthday to go to Paris for a week and in all the hype and excitement I must have lost my mind because I booked this dump to stay in!!! We arrived and the lobby looked allright... perhaps a bit cheap and cheesy looking for my taste... I was a little worried about the "hotel" and...

It was the worse hotel we've ever stayed. The service is awful. The WC are in the middle of the stairs, filthy and small. There is only one shower for all and the rooms are cold and tacky. The staff at the desk were unhelpful and rude... The only point to book here is that you have the metro station...

Good things: Price, helpful staff, location close to Metro station. Bad things: Common bathroom for 2 floors!! I m not kidding..It was quite an experience in Paris. Toilet at room was horrible. No water, no door.

Nice and peacful place with a nice and serviceminded staff who always could tell exactly how to get to a special destination easy and fast. The hotel was quite without any noice from traffic or guests so I had a very good sleep. The hotel is in a stage of renovation so some of the room like mine had a...

Straight up horrible. No elevator, ONE shower for the whole hotel, shared toilet, sink and bidet in the room (dunno why someone would walk with a dirty bum back to their room?!), NO OUTLETS in the room, no lockers, no safe place to leave your things charging, located in the ghetto. Then you escape to the city of love as...

First the good points: It's very convenient if you're travelling by Eurostar; a ten minute walk tops, and it's easy to find. The showers are clean, modern and hot, as was the water in my room (must mention it took me a while to figure out which side was hot which might explain earlier reviews). The bed linen was clean...

55 euro per night in Paris? Is there a catch? Well yes, it was way to good to be true.... just avoid!!! Dirty, falling apart, you have to leave your key at reception "in case of a fire" (very re-assuring). 2 showers (although newly fitted) for 38 rooms and 2 toilets in the staircase. NICE.

Staying in Montmartre

Neighbourhood Profile
Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colours, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
