In this little Parisian paradise on the rue de Verneuil, a privileged address in the heart of the Paris Left Bank in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the Hôtel Verneuil has been given a makeover. The hotel has been completely redesigned and refurbished to offer a house open to the city and to life. If Paris is the city of lights, the Hotel gives it its full place so that the wind of the Parisian spirit blows in all its spaces. A bright, active, cultural and joyful Parisian life. Located opposite the mythical house of Serge Gainsbourg, residence for years of the author James Baldwin whose novel ""If Beale Street could talk"" was adapted and awarded an Oscar in 2019, frequented by artists and authors, the Hotel Verneuil is irrigated by these symbols of freedom, creation, music and bohemian chic. With its 26 rooms, the Verneuil "House" offers a unique place that opens onto a historic and contemporary Paris from the view of the Paris rooftops to the layout of the rooms, from the lounge to the vaulted cellar. The Verneuil plays on the history and original architecture of this Parisian heritage hotel with a respectful and totally contemporary vision of the layout. It mixes design, contemporary works and a real Parisian art of living. This house, like all beautiful stories, is the result of a meeting between Nicolas Nonon, the owner of the property, and Isabelle Stanislas, an internationally recognized French architect, interior designer and designer with a very personal signature. The location of this unique and charming hotel is enhanced by the close proximity of antique shops, art galleries, fashion boutiques, restaurants, cafés (deux maggots, Flore), and major museums. 600 meters to the Louvre and 500 meters to the Musée d'Orsay.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was a return visit to this hotel and we loved our stay for the second time. The location is ideal, on the left bank near the rue du Bac, rue du Université, the antique shop and art galleries. The staff are really friendly and helpful (ordering taxis, bringing tea), the salon is ideal to meet friends, wait for taxis, enjoy a glass of wine at the end of the day. The rooms, though small like many in Paris, are wonderfully kitted out and efficiently arranged. I am sure the hotel will become even more popular, particuarly as it is sited just by the recently opened Maison Gainsbourg, and deservedly so.

Wonderful hotel in a fabulous location on the Left Bank. It is where you want to be, a 10 minute walk to Les Deux Magots and the shopping on Boulevard Saint Germain. The staff really make this hotel stand out from others.

Amazing neighborhood, elegantly decorated rooms, good breakfast with an espresso bar. We loved the view -- fun to watch people mill about below. Very close to the D'Orsay, Louvre, good shops and cafes.

This hotel is in a lovely location, it’s clean, the rooms are pretty and the staff are warm and very helpful. However, if you want to be able to get a good night’s sleep, this wouldn’t be my first choice. It’s an old building so you’d expect some noise but across four days we only got two hours of uninterrupted sleep at any point. There is so much banging in the building because of thin walls and floors and design of bathrooms and drawers etc. so if you’re not noise conscious and don’t mind spending a little more, great, but if you want somewhere to sleep then I’d (regretfully) go elsewhere.

Stayed here with my teen daughter in room 402 which was street facing but still incredibly peaceful. Nespresso & kettle and a few things in the mini bar each day added to the whole feel. Front desk staff always friendly and attentive. Cleaners helpful and friendly. Fabulous location surrounded by cafes and galleries but amazingly quiet and restorative. There’s stairs to the first floor then a lift to other floors but staff helpful with cases if needed. Would highly recommend and would certainly stay here again.

We had another enjoyable stay at the Hotel Verneuil. The management continues to add little touches to make the hotel feel more special - from the floral arrangement in the sitting room to the nosegays strategically placed throughout the public spaces. The breakfast continues to be one of the best things about the Verneuil but the staff is what really makes our stay so special. Everyone is super friendly and helpful and makes us feel right at home. Can't wait to see them again soon.

Absolutely beautiful and charming hotel in St Germain neighborhood in Paris. The hotel breakfasts were absolutely delicious—definitely worth it. We are a British/American couple in our 50’s. The rooms are small (so do not expect a ton of room for spreading out)—but they are charming, stylish, and well appointed. And the shower had plenty of hot water and great water pressure. The hotel is on a side street, and so it was nice and quiet at night for sleeping. The hotel itself is so stylish and classy without being over the top. This is a sophisticated four-star hotel if you’re looking for quiet rather than flashy. The staff were uniformly friendly and helpful—from the women serving breakfast and cleaning—to the front desk. We loved Isabel, Jonathan, and Nazeera—but did not get the others’ names.

Hotel Verneuil is a quaint boutique hotel in a perfect location. We stayed at one of the club rooms with high ceilings and a large window facing the street (#304). The staff is professional, friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean, the bed is comfortable and there are snacks, coffee and tea in the room. The hotel is close to museums, cafes and nice shopping area. Overall a perfect stay.

We absolutely love the Hotel Verneuil! It is our home in Paris. We have been staying there for the past 20 years. It is such a great place. We know the staff and they all know us. It feels like a family. The rooms are small and noise travels but that is Paris. The location is amazing: quite street (rare for Paris) and in what I think is the chicest arrondissement in Paris. A real treat!!!
