Chose this hotel based on the mostly positive reviews. Upon checking in, although I was supposedly given a renovated "Prestige" room, the room itself was tired (peeling wallpaper, chipped paint, chipped furniture), the bathroom was unacceptable (mildew in shower grout + old carpet), the lighting was terrible with all of the curtains opened, and it was right next to the...

This hotel is in a nice, safe neighborhood. There are plenty of places to eat half o block away on boulevard of montparnasse like French, burgers, Italian. The hotel has continental breakfast but if you want a bigger breakfast like omelettes you can go to the corner on montparnasse and turn right or left with many restaurants. We had breakfast...

This was our first hotel on our 10 day vacation. This place is conveniently located a few blocks from a metro stop and within walking distance of many good restaurant options. The best part about our stay was the free upgrade to the single apartment. This was wonderful news after almost 10 hours of flight/travel. Our room was immaculate and...

We arrived 20th Oct and stayed till 25th. Hotel situated in a great location minutes from the metro. Staff very friendly and helpful in advising us where to visit/eat. Fresh bedding everyday and comfy beds. Forgot to bring a travel adapter and umbrella but both are available at the hotel (adapter had to buy). Would recommend and stay again.

Got a room in a part of the hotel that is renovated (I think it's the rooms starting with 100, but check with the hotel because I'm not sure) and it was great. The room faced an inner yard so it was very quiet. Clean and fresh and not too small so I must say I enjoyed the room really...

Stayed here for four nights for vacation. It was a great hotel in a very nice, safe neighborhood. It is a short walk to Gare Montparnasse and very close to different subway stations as well. Plenty of options to eat are just a short walk away. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and spoke very good English. They assisted in...

My husband and I stayed here for our week in Paris for our honeymoon. We couldn't have asked for a better hotel to stay at! -The location is great. It's tucked away around the corner from Boulevard du Montparnasse. On that street there are tons of shops, restaurants, cafes and everything in between. It is an easy few minute walk...

Clean and value for money close to everything. Maybe I'm biased after having found the filthiest gite in France in Villeneuve le Comte the only accommodation there which we had to stay in despite it it being the foulest gite in all of France. But this hotel was clean, friendly, with great breakfast and close to everything in Montparnasse and...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated between Saint Germain des Pres and Montparnasse, the Hotel LOUISON is a chic hotel in the centre of Paris. With nineteenth century furniture, cherry and chestnut tones on the walls, marble floors and a courtyard garden, the Aviatic captures the spirit of the Left Bank in every detail. The hotel was constructed in 1856 to welcome the painters, sculptors and writers who would go on to put the Latin quarter at the very heart of European culture. This cultural heritage is present even in the bedrooms. Tastefully decorated, they generate a feeling of calm and a sensual ambiance. The charming, multilingual staff are always available to provide you with help and advice. They will be happy to offer local insight on art galleries, museums and the area's famous pavement cafes. ... more   less
