I stayed here for almost a week with my teen age daughter, and we were both delighted with the hotel. Its location is perfect- just across the Opera, close to what we intended to do together. I am an Ambassador member so was upgraded to an Twin Executive room, we also had an upgrade for the club intercontinental rate, but...

Lovely hotel in the "grand and elegant" fashion. The service, concierge and atmosphere were fantastic. You must look at their amazing Ballroom. The location, opposite the Paris Opera is central and wonderful allowing you to walk everywhere. The Metro station is next door. The onion soup at Cafe de la Paix should not be missed. Our room 5120 had direct...

On my most recent trip to Paris I spent my first night here using a free night certificate from my IHG card. It's a beautiful older hotel and the service was very good. My room was spacious by European standards and I had a small balcony overlooking the street below. The bathroom was also decent sized. I didn't eat at...

This was our third stay at this grand hotel - the name is appropriate! From check in to check out, we were impressed with the staff. A very warm and professional welcome greeted us at check in. We had been upgraded to a beautiful Junior Suite on the first floor. Although looking over the street, the double glazing was very...

Historic old hotel straight across the road from the Opera. Very centrally located within easy walking distance to alot of Paris Squares and historic buildings. Lots of places to eat nearby but their restaurant is superb. The room is a little on the smallish side but the large bed is very comfortable with big fluffy pillows. Rooms are clean. This...

We stayed here over our anniversary on a stopover traveling from the Maldives. I let the hotel know ahead of time that it was our anniversary and they upgraded us 2 categories, plus gave us a very nice champagne and chocolate package. This was our first time to Paris and we weren't sure what to expect but overall we had...

This hotel has an excellent position, situated near the Opera. Good choice to stay few days for business purposes or to organize business events. It is a large hotel, so it can be very busy in the lobby or in the restaurant. Keep that in mind, having a meal can take more time than you assume.

Everything was absolutely FABULOUS! I've stayed at various luxury hotels and the Intercontinental Grand Hotel delivers. Great location. Safe. A wonderful experience. I was previously staying at the Hilton Opera which is not in the same location but at a train station location - Gare St. Lazare. Transferring to the Intercontinental was a dream after the nightmare at HIlton Opera...

Old world luxury meets phenomenal service. Palatial, elegantly appointed, and superbly located. The breakfast buffet was included in the room price and was exceptional in it's offerings. My only small complaint would be that the pillows were flat and not very supportive. I would absolutely recommend, and would happily return to this fine establishment.

The hotel had everything we wanted: a central Paris location near the Palais Garnier, Galeries Lafayette and Printemps, a Metro station across the street, a two-minute walk to the airport bus to Charles de Gaulle, a club lounge, and the wonderful, if a bit pricey, Cafe de la Paix on the ground floor. We spent three perfect days there, leaving...

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
