During my stay in Paris in Victoria Palace Hotel for 330€ night, in the bathroom was not heating on and I paid for 3 adults, it means for 3 adults bed. We had in the room 3rd bed as the additional small bed where I could not sleep. I spoke about it at the reception and I got an answer,...

I spent 5 days with my wife in Paris and picked the Victoria Palace hotel. It was above my expectations for the cost and location. The Victoria Palace is well maintained, providing luxurious atmosphere to whoever comes through its doors. Rooms are much larger than expected in the heart of town well equipped, comfort beds and beautiful large bathroom. the...

Price was excellent for a hotel of this class and caliber. I have been to Paris many times and this was among the best hotel experiences I have had. Will certainly...

The bad was very convenient. The room and the bathroom were cleaned several times a day and the room was very clean....

This is a very nice hotel and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast at the hotel is great as well. There is a grociery store right down the street and a little cafe across the street. There are several places to shop and eat within walking distance. The only negative would be the distance from the major attractions....

My wife and I recently spent 4 nights at the Victoria Palace. Our room was a spacious junior suite which was clean and large by Parisian standards. Reception staff were friendly and attentive. The location was in a quiet side street close to all the major shopping areas of the 5th arrondissement. We made our booking late so the room...

1st time staying at this hotel. Love the outlook of the building. Very friendly staff that conversed well in English. 5 mins away from the nearest Metro station, Saint-Placide but choose to walk further till Gare Montparnasse which have more options. The hotel is not big but enjoy the quietness by not mixing with group tour. The breakfast looks limited...

The room was lovely. It was a nice size for single people sharing with twin beds for a week. We were concerned that in a Paris hotel we'd be tripping over each other. This was not the the case in the Victoria Palace. The front desk staff were helpful with our questions and gave some good recommendations for dinner and...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.

Located in the Cherche-Midi neighbourhood (Left Bank, near St Germain des Pres), the Victoria Palace Hotel is remarkable for Paris by the size of its rooms, especially the 28 Junior Suites averaging 375 sq ft (35 m²) each. The hotel opened in 1913 and although completely renovated over the years since 2000, the decor remains traditional, luxurious and quintessentially Parisian. For those travelling by car, the hotel has its own garage. The hotel prides itself on its staff's ability to ease guests into a truly Parisian experience : local shops, local restaurants, local markets, etc. There is also a special welcome for children to help introduce them to Paris and the French language. ... more   less
