Apparently stayed in a superior room, but it was no place for toiletries in the bathroom or room for two people to pass each other or store luggage. Our room smelled strongly of smoke when we arrived, and when mentioning this at reception we were told that not everybody respected the no smoking signs... Had to move the nightstand to fit my suitcase next to the bed, and the telltale signs of no cleaning behind there, were obvious. The smallest elevator ever from 1st floor, hardly room for one person + suitcase. Had to get the suitcases to the first floor ourselves. A lot of noise from the street, and very thin walls. We opted out of lunch, there were lovely restaurants around who served super breakfast. The guy at reception did not even ask if we had had a nice stay or say goodbye when we left.

Great location, near metro station, and the hotel has everything you need. For the price it’s the best! It was very clean, had free wifi, TV, hair dryer and everything necessary, even though the room was a little small. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Good location, amazing staff - the night receptionist chatted to us every night about our day and gave some amazing tips! Rooms are small, but they are all you need when you are out and about in Paris! Great for couples.

My husband and I stayed 7 nights here. The first night was in an standard room (#304). It was nice and clean but very small (yes, I know many hotel rooms are small in Paris). Window to the quite dull backyard. The big downside was that about 60-70cm from the bed's foot end, was the shower and toilet. Only separated with a shower curtain. No door! They had taken away all previous glass doors due to risk of accidents. Me and my husband of course know each other very well, but without any privacy in the toilet - and all "sounds" from there right by the bed, it's far from ideal. At least for us. (We had actually ordered a superior room from the booking site, but there had been an unrepairable mistake. That's why we got the standard room ... Anyway, the supernice staff made it possible to upgrade to a superior room the next day. That made all the difference in the world! Thank you for making this possible! Room 202, was just lovely. A big larger, a solid door to the bathroom (bathtub and toilet) and streetview. There's a waterkettle and mugs in each room but no tea nor coffee. Windows are well sound isolated if you keep them shut, of course. We chose to have our window open during all night. After a night or two we were not at all disturbed by the metro (not beeing underground at the Jaurés station nereby) nor the traffic and typical citynoice. Inner walls ar not as sound isolated though. There is a very small elevator in the building. It starts at the second floor to which there are 20 steps. That's where the reception is too. The staff was very kind and carried our suitcases up the stairs from/to the street. Avenue Sécretan is a lively street with "everything" you need very close and a fresh baguette is just across the hotel entrance. Location is perfect with different metro lines, the nice canal, shops, cafés and restaurants close by. Sunday is market day on the hotel street, starting quite early. This is a hotel we definitely will return to, making sure to book a superior room!

We stayed at Hotel des Buttes Chaumont twice for our duration in Paris. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. They answered all of our questions and made excellent recommendations. This hotel is very affordable and right by the train station. We were able to see all of Paris via the train at a fraction of the cost.

The hotel is very tiny but clean. The receptionist was really nice and helpful so we really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is near the metro station Jaures, so you can walk there within a minute. Unfortunalely, we could hear the metro at night and there were homeless beggers(as in many places in Paris), but I can say we didn't mind and they weren't annoying. Lovely places and parks to have lunch at nearby, McDonalds, many bars and cafes. We will definitely come again thanks to the friendliness and cleanliness. Very good service for low price.

The staff was very rude and hotel was very dirty. The breakfast served was stale and I would suggest that it is not worth the stay. The location is good, very accessible from subway. The heating also not very effective in the room.

We were here for 3 nights and everything was great. The staff very kind, the room very clean, although a little noisy, but ok. Anyway, I wouldn't recommend the breakfast, you can have it at some coffees basically. The hotel has a great location, near to Jauves metro station, a few stations from Opera and other spots.

Lovely hotel with cosy rooms and pristine bathrooms, however, a bit on the small side. One of the best price/value ratios in my experience. Free wifi with a decent speed. Great location as well, about 100 yards from Jaures station, not far from Gare du Nord, easy to reach from CDG airport.

This is a very charming hotel. It's location is very good, near metro stations, local cafes and other shops. The staff was very polite and friendly. Our room was wonderful, clean and we got a good view. The area around the hotel was quiet in the night, since there isn't many bars nearby or heavy traffic. One morning one of the staff ran after us when we walked out to offer us hot chocolate, it was a cold November morning so maybe he thought we needed something hot to drink. I will definitely book a room at this hotel when I go back to Paris! It has a charm I want to relieve.
