A small hotel in a characterful area. Close to the colleges and universities so places for students and yet close to the large shopping streets also. And is just a short walk to the river and Notre dame. The rooms are small but cosy and with character. It was winter so what was important was the heating and I liked...

The hotel is situated in the Latin Quarter of Paris which is within easy walking distance of Notre Dame and a City Sightseeing bus stop. We stayed in a room which was on the second floor overlooking the front street. This was, in my opinion, exactly what you would expect from a Parisian hotel. Cosmopolitan views from a French window....

The hotel is situated in the 5th Arr. Very close to metro stations, notre dame cathedral seine river and also a great deal of restaurants. The room we had was very small, but clean enough. Instead of the heater, you use the air conditioning for heating the room, which makes the air quite dry in the night. We didn't have...

This is handy small hotel. The room we had was recently redecorated and modern. In the current fashion, the bathroom is glass walled so make sure privacy issues aren't critical. Wifi was good and so was breakfast which was well priced at €9. The day time staff were all very pleasant but a rude man appeared at night. That was...

Stayed at the Hotel Minerve while attending a conference at the nearby Universite Pierre et Marie Curie. For a three star hotel, it is quite nice. Rooms are rather small but efficient and nice. Breakfast (not complimentary) is good, but maybe a bit pricey. Wifi is remarkably fast and reliable. Would definitely stay at Hotel Minerve when visiting this part...

Great location, easy metro access, close to many touristic points. My bedroom was in the back of the building ( I understood it would have a different fare from the one I paid to Booking!). I had no view of Paris and it was supposed to be a quiet place, however, walls are very thin and we could hear our...

The location of the hotel itself is excellent - walking distance to Notre Dame and various metro links. The lobby was nice but be warned that the lift is VERY small (one person and a suitcase at most). The location makes accessing all areas of Paris very simple and maps are provided from the lobby. We booked this hotel as...

Our room was very small, well equipped and clean but we couldn't get the window open because the bed was in the way. The lift is tiny! We enjoyed our stay, the hotel staff were very helpful - the lobby was undergoing a refurb but the staff went out of their way to ensure that guests weren't impacted in anyway.

The people running this hotel are dishonest! I made a reservation in the spring of 2016 for 1 night in June. I realized I made an error with my dates and called the hotel the next day to cancel the reservation. The man I spoke with was quite pleasant and confirmed my cancellation. This July, when I returned from my...

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
