The location of this hotel is great: at close walking distance of Gare du Montpernasse that is a large Metro hub, and good to park your car here from Fri-Mon for 32 euros. The street where the hotel is located is home for many nice restaurants and pubs, while our room was quite. The hotel is modern design and our...

This is a perfect location with almost everything in walking distance including Luxembourg Gardens and the St. Germain area. The people at reception were excellent. Antoine was so knowledgeable and helpful. Also the woman who checks guests in for the bountiful and delicious breakfast buffet was amazing. I saw her come find another guest in the lobby- bringing him his...

I had booked my trip via Expedia, it included hotel and air fare, so knowing flight arrived early morning, still had to wait to check in at 11 am. After a long flight, it would have been nice to get a room right away. The place was under construction and it wasn't stated.

Dear guest, thank you for sharing your experience on TripAdvisor. The point is that the hotel was full when you got there. We would have given you a room earlier if one had been available. Renovations are indeed being carried out to give you a brand new lobby, colourful and lively with a lounge bar. Kind regards

I have stayed at other Mecure hotels and this one did not match up. The paint was pealing off the walls in the bathroom. The restaurant never provided any service and after a 30 minute wait we walked out. They got the billing wrong. The Mecure in Chartres was much better.

Hotel is being renovated in April17. Great location near gare Montparnasse (RER) and Edgar Quinet (metro). Very friendly reception staff. Rooms are small on floor 2, interconnected rooms not recommended. Breakfast good, although no omelette available. No American coffee either. Only baguettes are replaced when asked for bread.

Dear Terry M, thank you for taking the time to review our hotel on TripAdvisor. I am glad to read that you enjoyed our central location in a lively district as well as the kindness of our staff. As you probably noticed, breakfast has been temporarily moved to the restaurant which is not its usual place. Therefore, a few dishes...

We basically chose this hotel as we needed to travel by train and return from Laval. Travelling from CDG airport to Montparnasse was very easy, taking the designated bus transportation just outside airport buildings and costing 18e. Montparnasse station was a 5 to 7 minute easy walk away to or from the Mercure. In and out of the reception was...

Hotel is great, clean, food is good and the staff is very helpful. The only issue is the bad/overloaded WiFi that makes surfing very very difficult. The place is ideal, beautiful and near multiple metro stations.

The problem with Mercure hotels in France is that they obviously don't feel the need to try very hard. This one is well located in Montparnasse - but then so are dozens of other hotels. Staying in Montparnasse

Neighbourhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the centre of Paris this neighbourhood has something for every hour of the day.
