Just returned from our third stay at this boutique hotel in the charming St. Germain area. Sorry to say the hotel is looking a little less lovely than on previous occasions. Carpets are worn and stained; housekeeping is uneven; and there appear to be fewer staff to service guests. A few examples: During a 5-night stay, we had turndown service...

We continually strive to maintain our guests’ personal service standards, and it is important for us to know when we are not doing so. I have been...

We had a great but short stay at this lovely hotel in St Germain (Latin quarter). Great design, super service and lovely ambience. The area is very romantic and is probably the nicest are of Paris. Great restaurants and cafes everywhere as are the shops in the area. Also remember to stop by Le Bon Marche; one of the greatest...

My husband took me to Paris to celebrate my Birthday. We choose Hotel Recamier because on line the rooms looked nice and modern no fussy decor. Upon arriving we were upgraded to a room on the 5th floor. Our room was spacious, the bathroom was large and when standing on the juliette balcony you could see the Eiffer Tower. The...

This boutique hotel is right next to the Saint Suplice church in the St Germain area of Paris. From here it is easy to walk to the Latin Quarter or the restaurants and shops in this area. It is also very close to a metro station. I chose this hotel because I have a hard time sleeping and wanted a...

If you are looking for a small luxury hotel in a quintessential Left Bank neighborhood, Hotel Recamier will not disappoint you. We spent four nights there on our recent visit to Paris and were thoroughly pleased. The reception was friendly and courteous, the room was comfortable (though small by US standards) and breakfast more than adequate. But what pleased was...

This was our third trip in twelve months & it was even better than the last two trips. The room (a club) had a view over the Place Saint Sulpice & was spacious, comfortable & the decor beautiful. The location is ideal & surprisingly quiet. The small lounge is also very attractive & comfortable. The staff are without exception charming...

My 12-year old daughter and I recently returned from Paris. We stayed at the Hotel Recamier for several nights. If you like charming hotels in quiet neighborhoods with excellent shopping, dining and beautiful sights, then this hotel is a perfect choice. The hotel is right across from Saint Sulpice church and the views of the church and fountain are terrific....

We had such a warm welcome at the Hotel Recamier. Having lived in Paris a few years ago we returned for our first wedding anniversary and we knew wanted to stay on the left bank. The hotel was the perfect location for shopping, restaurants, jardin du luxembourg and exploring all the little streets and had a calming relaxing vibe to...

If you are looking for a central, chic, yet discreet and secluded Parisian little hotel, at the doorstep of what is arguably some of the best shopping district in the whole world, the Recamier Hotel is definitely for you! I simply love this place and cannot quite decide whether this is because it happens to be located opposite the church...

Set in a gorgeogous courtyard overlooking the Church of Saint Sulpice the location could not have been better. Quaint, chic boutique hotel was lovely from start to finish. We occupied two rooms over a 5 night stay (interconnecting) as a family of four which was lovely and allowed us more space (if size is an issue). Beautiful furnishings, lounge was...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
