I loved my stay here, I'll say that right away. The location is alright, its a bit farther from the subway than I was originally led to believe but it isn't impossibly far. The room was clean, the bed comfortable enough, and the staff was very helpful. The "small problem" is literally that. I'm a 'larger' person, and i expect...

Just when I reached Belleville station (closest to The Loft), took me a while to absorb where I am because the area around wasn't very pleasant and was bit shady, probably because of some street market there on that very day. But thereon, it was all good. The access from the metro station to the hostel is pretty easy and...

Colourful, clean and a little bit off tourist-track, yet great for backpackers. Bathrooms in dorms! I slept in an 8 mixed dorm and it was fabulous, comparing to general quality. Spacious and modern. Great service. Wifi and computers.. Breakfast buffet included (although no much choice for vegans/lactose intolerant). Edith PIaf's Belleville is a great area. Lots of multi-cultural bars and...

It has been the best experiences I have lived so far !!. Janodoa making pancakes in the morning revives the dead !! Clean, charming, the overall atmosphere, comfort and above all the friendliness of its workers and customers. You talk to all greet you as if the trip set the times you go through there. They offered always helps to...

First time at a hostel in Paris and I like this one. You can cook your own meals. Close to metro. Friendly staff and clean. The bunk beds are nice and low, so you don't have to climb much. The lockers are small, but you can store all your important stuff. Only complaint is limited bike storage.

My friends and I stayed in an 8 bed dorm on the second floor on the right hand side of the courtyard. The room was very clean as well as the separate shower room and toilet. I found the wifi was fine and only had to register once during my 2 night stay. The beds were comfy and I slept...

Nice place to stay and well worth the money. Good location to easily access metro to get around Paris. Good food close by for dinner. Friendly and helpful staff. Shower was excellent and fresh towels everyday was a bonus.

The stench of death had followed myself and my friend during the previous week before our stay at the loft. Despite neither of us hailing from the the proud 6 counties, we see ourselves as devout ulstermen and had perfected the accent by the time the trip had come to an end. Our emotions had been on one hell of...

Location; beside a nice fruit and veg market, local boulangeries and some great bars, get down to aux folies, a great spot for soaking up local atmosphere. Metro a 3-5 minute walk -Belleville, line 11. Also not far from beautiful parks, an amazing one in particular called Parc des Buttes Chaumont around a 20 minute walk, but the views over...

Staying in Belleville / Pere Lachaise

Neighbourhood Profile
Belleville / Pere Lachaise
At the eastern edge of Paris lies Belleville / Père Lachaise, an understated wonderland of local treasures. Alongside the world-famous cemetery, family-owned delicatessens and cafés nestle between local stores and establishments. The richness of the population here has created a little Chinatown of Asian restaurants, and the area comes to life at night by a funky underground scene. Façades change from one street to another as one passes from white walled provincial homes to tall blocks and reconverted homes. The whole area is an inspirational mix of people from all corners of the world frequented by artists, students, immigrants, and Parisian families. Once home to supporters of the Paris commune, its rebellious nature is now offset by its rural charms.
