What a perfect Hotel to stay at whilst in Paris. The location is perfect, there are supermarkets, fruit stalls and bakeries (with an amazing Fromage shop) all within walking distance. There are three Metro stations that take around 2 minutes by foot, and a a taxi stop not far. The Louvre and Musee D'Orsay are within walking distance, not even...

Ok, we stayed at this hotel for 7 nights in late May. I know that this is a budget hotel but I was somewhat disappointed with this one. When we arrived we saw that the lobby was clean, and we were happy to see the free internet was available. The staff was friendly. All seemed ok. When we got our...

Arriving at the Hotel du Commerce, we were greated with a friendly staff and bright, very clean rooms. We had difficulty finding the hotel at first, as there are no directions online. But the location is very nicely situated near the Latin Quarter and Notre Dame, and very near markets, convenience stores, cafes, good Tibetan restaurants. I opted to save...

If you need 3 stars service in this hotel, you are not the right person to stay there. In this cas, just go away to find others hotels. If you can pay more than 100 euro per night, you would have a lot of choices. I recommend this "hotel du commerce" to people who want to discover a nice and old...

I advise anyone thinking of booking this hotel to think twice. I have never been treated worse by any staff than this, I have never spent a night in a noisier room than here, if you intend to go on holiday to enjoy yourself, I beg you to never book a room at the Hotel du Commerce in Paris, ever!

Great location (10 minute walk to the Notre Dame, 20 to Louvre, 5 to Pantheon, 10 to Luxemburg Gardens) but this is the worst hotel I’ve ever been.

Great location, nice and friendly stuff, comfortable and clean rooms: we spent there the time of our life. Little shops, coffes, bakeries, pubs in the nearby so everything could be found what is needed. I would recommend this place for the ones who would like to stay at a beautiful hotel on friendly price.

The hotel was located very central, but that was it. The place was an echo chamber. No sleeping in this hotel and the door was not even a real door, it was a piece of plywood! I knew it was a shared toilet, but 6 rooms to one toilet was a but much. They charged extra for showers. They tried...

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
