I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and quality of this hotel. Benjamin, whose family owns the hotel, was so friendly and helpful. The room was very nice and the breakfast spread was delicious. They would even deliver it to your room at no extra charge, including eggs however you’d like them cooked. The well-functioning AC was a godsend after spending very hot days seeing the city. The location was excellent. Be sure to visit nearby Bon Marche’s Epicurie for delicious pastries, picnic foods, and beverages. Close to various bus stops and Metro stations. Would definitely stay here again. Be advised if you are claustrophobic the elevator is quite tiny so you may wish to take the stairs. Loved it!

We stayed here as a family of 4. We had two rooms on the same floor (2 rooms per floor) which was ideal.
The rooms were spacious for a boutique hotel in Paris and the bed very comfortable. On the first night we were all a bit hot as we couldn’t get the ac to work. They explained to us that the system is either AC or heating and because of the time of year it had to be on heating, but not to worry, the courtyard at the back was private to the hotel and so we were safe to have the back window open at night, and it was quiet with that window open.
The breakfasts were lovely, we had fresh pastries, fruit, yogurts etc, but the best thing was that they just know kids love pancakes and so would make them every day.
If you want some recommendations then they will happily book somewhere for dinner, or advise on places to go, they were so helpful.
For location it was about a 25 minute walk to the river, or the metro was a block away to take you up to the Louvre and other locations and there is another line just a few minutes walk in the opposite direction.

I think this is one of the best hotels I have stayed in. Made so good by the staff who were really excellent.

This was my first time to Paris and I had such a great experience for the 5 days we stayed. We were greeted by 24 hour staff that bent over backwards to make our stay exceptional. I always felt safe and felt a priority. It was my birthday earlier in the month and they had a bouquet of the most beautiful flowers , a card and macaroons waiting for my on arrival in my room. We had breakfast included with our stay and it was amazing every day with staff always eager to make fresh coffee, cappuccino, eggs, etc. The room was great and has plenty of space for your needs, room was cleaned well and equipped with all your needs. I loved having two windows to view the street and get fresh air in bathroom and bedroom areas, the elevator was tight quarters but great just for avoiding the many tiny stairs Paris offers. Benjamin, Pierre, Emmanuel , Sosanto and everyone we encountered went above and beyond to assist us with taxis, restaurants, stores, directions, metro info and anything we asked. The decor is beautiful and cozy with fresh flowers, umbrellas are available to use. I. like that they keep your keys so you do not have to worry about them when you are touring Paris. They placed chocolates on our clean beds-so adorable! You have a hot pot and teas, coffees in room and minibar. There is a safe and nice Babybliss hairdryer! If I ever get the chance to return to Paris I would hands down choose here again for my stay, Thank you for all you do for your guests-it is a pleasure to stay here.

The room was very comfortable, very clean with daily housekeeping service. I really enjoyed the lovely bath. We had a triple (queen bed plus a twin bed). A very small elevator carries two people at a time up to your room. (elevator is not wheelchair accessible). Each floor has only two guest rooms.
We enjoyed sharing stories with the kind gentleman who coordinates breakfast (I'm sorry I do not remember his name). The breakfast food was always fresh and delicious. On our last morning he made my daughter feel special by preparing a pancake for her 😊
I remain grateful to Benjamin and the staff accommodating my mobility needs by obtaining a wheelchair and always making sure I was comfortable. Their efforts made it possible for me to enjoy touring Paris. I will return here next visit.

Our entire family (8 adults and 2 children) spent a week in Paris, staying at Le Placide Hotel. It was wonderfull! The hotel's location, in a lively, yet quiet neighborhood, make's navigaing the city very easy, most popular sites are walkable, but there is also a metro stop nearby. The rooms are lovely; large and well furnished ; very comfortable. Most importantly, the staff is tremendous! Benjamin, and the front desk staff were very helpful answering questions before we arrived, and they could not have been more helpful during our stay. And finally, Susantha, the breakfast manager, quickly became a member of the family! His desire to exceed all expectations was remarkable, and his warmth was so welcoming every morning.

Advertised as boutique; in fact, a flea bag. We arrived at Le Placide expecting a lovely boutique hotel. Instead, we found a third-rate, commercial hotel.
Our "junior suite" was a chair and a small table used by the coffee machine for which one pays if one chooses to use it. The room is tiny, but the bed is comfortable. The A/C is either freezing or warm. (It was very warm in Paris!) The bath was a hazard lacking any form of access assistance like grab bars in the show/tub combination. We had to help each other in and out of the shower.
The only room with a walk-in shower had a bath on the ground floor but the bedroom up about twenty steep stairs. We declined.
The elevator lobby was a laugh. One step out of the elevator and you were at your door. The elevator held two people. Luggage required a second trip. The elevator was shared with the service personnel so was busy most of time.
The expensive breakfast was a laugh. One little croissant, some stale bread and overly ripe fruit. After one try, we went across the street for bagels.
The staff tried to be helpful but lacked knowledge of the neighborhood. Any question was answered with looking in the computer. (I could do that!)
We couldn't use the shower so checked out early.

Response from Corinne Bessade, General Manager at Le Placide

Dear Mrs and Mr Croner, We are not surprised to read your unsatisfaction and we need to give more information to the reader of this comments. Le Placide is a small boutique hotel of 11 rooms, located in a very demanded area, in front of le Bon Marche. We fully respect the four stars standards that we renew at the beggining of the year, and for the next 5 years. The junior suite room you got was 25m² as booked. We totally agree on the fact that US and French standards are not the same, but for Paris, this room size is really comfortable. The courtesy tray with a kettle, coffee and tea is totally free in all our rooms. The AC was fully working when you came in September, but when you modify all the setting on your remote control, it is not working anymore. Indeed, all our junior suite are offering bathtube in the bathroom, as mentionned on our several exchange before you finalised your reservation. By offering you an alternative with a walk in shower, we were only trying to do our best for you, and this is also why you were able to leave the hotel one week earlier, without any charge. Before we own this hotel, there was no lift. What is it better a small and trust one, or only stairs? You can use the lift up to 3 people, and we are always taking care of bringing the luggages in rooms. Regarding the breakfast, it was included in your rate, so with no charge I am not sure about saying it is expensive. We are providing fresh and good products from the shops around us. However, I am not sure I need to give more explanation when I am reading that you prefered to buy an industrail bagel every morning instead of discovering croissant, pain au chocolat, baguette, etc... Finally, by reading the various comments you have written on this website, I realize that you only post bad things. Tripadvisor is also a happy place. I remain at your disposal should you need other information. Best regards Corinne

We were two women referred to Le Placide by another hotel. Due to unacceptable accommodations booked through the Internet we found ourselves in a situation of having to find hotel accommodation on the spot. The first hotel we stayed at was excellent, however, they were only able to provide us with three nights, they referred us to Le Placide for two nights. The hotel has just opened and the rooms are exceptionally small. The front desk staff are very uptight and nervous. They will need to go a long way to make their guests feel welcome and at home. Although the hotel is charging premium rates much of it is a facade. For instance the carpets although new are of the lowest quality. The room we were given, a duplex, did not have room to turn around or place luggage anywhere but on the bed. There was one small closet which was also used as a bar, with glasses for wine, consequently one of the hangers fell onto the glass shattering it into pieces. When we came into the room flowers had been placed in the bathroom and up a ledge on the stairwell, these were suppose to be fresh but were half dead. The following day the same flowers remained with a few dead ones taken out. Although this is a small matter it is an indication of how the hotel presents itself and how it actually is. As well the shower stall was not clean and there were finger smudges over parts of the walls. In front of our door was the entrance to the reception area, the door which was glass had a large crack in it. Also a table that had been used in the courtyard broke in half and they just left it there with a large pillar candle on the floor. Any hotel charging premium rate should take care of these things so their guests don't have to look at negligence. There is a loud rumbling noise that starts about 5:00 a.m. and keeps on going through the morning which is most disturbing, we were never able to figure out what is was. Although the location is okay if you are going to pay this room rate spend your money elsewhere it is not worth spending it at Le Placide!

Don't stay at hotel le placide in paris!!! it may get great reviews but i had an AWFUL experience. I booked a room at the hotel and then cancelled within the 5 day period in advance of my reservation. The hotel not only charged me ANYWAY but they OVERCHARGED me. Instead of 250 Euros, they charged me 300 Euros. The staff never responded to messages, never helped me when i called, and were totally unresponsive. If you want to risk the same happening, stay here. But I wouldn't.

Despite its convenient location close to BonMarche, this hotel suffers from a major design flaw: its layout. Although there are only 2 suites per floor, the petite elevator opens onto a central hall where both doors for each suite face each other. If you happen to have a neighbor who is even moderately loud, the noise will carry to your bed, which is unfortunately directly behind the front door. My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and 2 of those nights were spent up all night due to noise.
While the hotel staff attempted to be understanding, in the end, they offered little compensation other than grave apologies for other patrons' selfish and inconsiderate behaviour. The layout is the major culprit and there is nothing that can be done about that.
At 375 Euros/night, that is hard to tolerate. If you care about getting sleep, I would not stay at this hotel.
