No one could pretend that this is a full-service hotel. Think Fawlty Towers. But really...in Paris... when you can find a clean and friendly place with a shower and good continental breakfast for under 60 Euros, in a great location, grab it. Near Place d'Italie, walking distance to the Latin Quarter, the little hotel offers budget comfort. Ask for a room on the inner court ('au cour'), away from the street noise. Our stay was a couple of years ago, but friends tell us little has changed, More

I was walking through southern Paris and needed a place to stay, and walked up. The gentleman in charge, who i think is the owner, was very nice and friendly. The rate was cheap, for Paris, - about 55 Euro. He did not speak English, and I didn't speak French, but we managed to figure it out somehow. The hotel has a safe and secure entrance, the room was Parisian small, the bed a little on the cheap side. There was a bathroom in the room, and a small tv that worked. The window opened up to a nice view of Rue Le Brun and Avenue des Gobelins - I could have sat in the window for hours.

The front desk was very helpful and friendly, assisting me with how the front door lock works, making sure I had a hotel business card beofre leaving (to show a taxi driver), and generally being the opposite of everything bad people say about parisians.

That being said, this hotel is that magical place between hostels and fancy hotels. Good value, safe location, slightly lumpy...
