Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Don't bother hotel doesn't understand guests concerns. they don't care about any problems you might have.. they just want your money... Take an extension plug...no kettle or drinks if you arrive late. Make sure your booking is paid for cos they will charge you on the door. Hotel renovation nect door..no warnings about it.. might be done but check with the hotel. Market also wakes you up in the morning.

If you are traveling alone for one or maybe two nights it may be tolerable. Otherwise do yourself a favor and don’t reserve a room here. The one plus. The area is very busy with lots of dining and entertainment, and the hotel is very quiet from street noise. Not so for noise inside the hotel… the pipes in our bathroom creaked all night, I assume whenever another guest flushed or turned on water. The walls were so thin I could hear a complete conversation a couple had trying to figure out how to use the shower. I heard it so clearly that I could tell the staff their names the next morning when I went downstairs to complain. I was told that I should have complained during the night instead of the next morning (since the couple wasn’t being unusually loud it made not sense to complain about that). And then I was told by the manager that the pipes were my imagination because she had personally slept in each room and knew there were no noise issues. The two double beds each had one long skinny pillow that felt like a pool noodle tucked under the bottom sheet. The mattresses were covered in plastic that crinkled with the slightest movement. We didn’t sleep at all during the night and left the next day, willing to pay whatever it cost to actually get some rest. We found a lovely hotel down the street for only slightly more. We also were required to pay the full amount at the Palace Hotel in advance, then during check in were told that our credit card didn't go through so I gave them a different card. The hotel charge ended up on the first card we supplied. Not sure why he ran the second card but I have been carefully checking every charge on both cards ever since. There are great hotels available nearby - even in summer we didn't have a problem finding something reasonable nearby. A vacation shouldn't be stressful - look elsewhere. (also wifi didn't work so I had to pay international fee to use my phone, but relatively small issue)

After a mostly pleasant stay a member of staff tried to alter the agreement and force payment early. (It was agreed as per the hotels policy that we would pay as we left) The staff member incinuated that we would not be allowed to our room (where all of our belongings were as we were not due to check out until the morning) unless we paid immeduately, at 2 o'clock in the morning, returning to our room from a great night at the open air cinema. This has left a seriously sour taste in the mouth. I would not reccomend a stay here. Find somewhere with better communication between staff and a policy that will not be suddenly atlered with the implication that you will not recieve your belongings. As one of our party speaks french, this has nothing to do with a language barrier and is a consequence of poor management and low standards. Small, noisy rooms that smell awfully of drains. AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF YOU VALUE THE WORD OF THE ESTABLISMENT YOU RESIDE AT.

I had a shocking experience at this hotel. I booked on booking.com and paid in advance. On arrival I was told I had to pay as I'd only given a reservation, when I said that I had already paid and showed my booking confirmation I was told I was wrong and would have to pay again, when I insisted I'd paid I was shouted at saying that it's impossible to pay before arrival. I was told I had to call booking.com to prove I had paid, in my opinion this issue was the hotel and booking.com's fault notine and therefore the hotel should check, not me. I was told I would not be allowed in to my room until I had proven (via a phonecall, not just with my prepaid booking confirmation) that I had paid. On calling booking.com it was confirmed I had paid, however this wasn't enough for the hotel, they required 2 more phonecalls, one to the hotel directly and then another as the manager who was absent demanded it. The reason he demanded the additional call was because he didn't believe the initial call to the hotel was genuine and was in fact a call from somebody I knew. It took me almost an hour to get to my room due to the hotel's incompetence and incomplete understanding of their relationship with booking.com, in the process I was shouted at multiple times, and called a liar and worse than this an active fraudster attempting to cheat the hotel out of money (something that inadvertently was happening to me!). Besides the appalling service the walls of the room appeared to have dried sick on them and the shower was broken. I hate the Palace Hôtel and I'll spend the rest of my life telling people about it! (I won't, but I thought it'd be fun to end on a more humourous note). Thanks to Google for allowing me to vent, and to my friends and family for their support throughout this ordeal.

This is a nice family owned hotel with a good location and the best money value in my opinion. The staff are very very friendly and will do all they can to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Don't expect much though, it's still a one star hotel.

This hotel is a good option if you are On a budget. Do not expect a lot from it. In my experience I don't like spending a lot of money on hotels because we only use it to sleep and to take a shower. If your idea of traveling is sightseeing go for it, book it. It's clean! Great location near restaurants and two blocks away from Stratsburg Saint Dennis metro stop. There is no elevator so you have to take your luggage upstairs. The staff is very nice even though they didn't speak English, they were really polite and tried hard to communicate. If you are picky when it comes to hotels don't book it.

I've been looking round central Paris for years to try to find a really good cheap, clean, guest-friendly haven for an old guy who just wants modest comfort for a night or two without having to pay through the nose. I'm still looking. The staff at the Palace, as with the staff at almost all hotels I've suffered, are really good. The reception desk team couldn't be more friendly and helpful, and the room cleaners are great. They all smile, and I admire their patience and good humour, because they get paid very little and work very hard. And that's where I become annoyed, because the owners of these places gouge their clients and make a large profit from the work of people who work in facilities that are usually sub-standard. Please : never scold a Palace Hotel reception clerk for the fact that your bed light didn't work. It's not his fault. And the uncovered wires aren't the fault of the staff, either. They won't be given the three or four Euros that it would cost to fix such an annoying — and probably dangerous — defect. If you have a heavy bag, or if you're an Oldie, like me, don't go to the Palace, because there is no lift. It's heave-ho and up the steep stairs to your room that is charmless and devoid of all but the basic plastic cup and a squidge of soap. You don't expect Monets on the walls anywhere, but there's no need for prison corridor decor. There’s no sound-proofing, and you sometimes hear (at least I did from my room on the third floor) some loud conversations late at night. Anyway, the Palace was no better nor worse than any of the grots I've stayed in -- although getting bag-laden to the third floor was a challenge. I wonder where I'll try next?

Decent place for the price. If you are traveling on a budget its good. Not far from Paris city center, if you are comfortable with walking. If not, go closer. The metro is close by and convenient. As a solo female traveler, I was comfortable. I walked back to the room late one night and had no issues. The owner is very friendly and helpful. I would stay there again. My only word if advice, learn more French!!!!
