The rooms are quite fine. The bathroom is very small. It is close to metro stations. The service in the hotel is ok, Front desk peoples are friendly except one lady. The problem is their English is weak. Altogether worth the budget.

The Tipi Hôtel is located close to the Tour Montparnasse and Gare Montparnasse. You also have a one more Metro station 500m away. The room was small and clean, the bathroom as well and the stuff was kind and friendly. Breakfast was small but okay.

It is a very good value for the money you pay for this hotel. My room was on the fourth floor and had a small sitting area with a desk and a sofa. It was a cute room. The bathroom was very small. The room was overlooking the street and it was noisy in the morning, especially on Saturday when... More

I been with my boyfriend for a few days , the Room and bathroom were small, and not very comfortable. Wi-Fi very slow, nice location, very close to metro station , bar and restaurants. The staff was great and helpful.

I stayed for one night because it was near to the train station. I paid 40 euros so I was expecting very little and was plesantly suprised. The room was very small but clean and comfortable. There is a supermarket and lots of places to eat nearby, free wifi and shampoo. You can't complain for that money. I wouldn't expect... More

Hotel is on very good location, in very nice area with lots of cafes and restaurants, rooms are correct - good for a few days and good for the prices (this is one of the cheapest hotels in area). Staff is very correct.

The location is great, only 5 min away from the catacombs and the Metro. There are lots of restaurants and cafes around. Unfortunately the walls are very thin and the wifi slow. Also our bathroom smelled bad. But all in all a good hotel for a excellent price in an excellent location. Although I wouldn't want to tay for more... More

We stayed here on the first 3 nights of our backpackers euro trip and to be honest it did the job. It's easy to get to via metro (Denfert Rochereau) and then a 5-7minute walk. The staff are friendly and helpful and the lobby is smart and clean. Our room was compact and the toilet was like a cupboard, but... More

My friend and I were looking for somewhere to stay centrally in Paris with good transport links for cheap, and we found Tipi. Good location between Gaite and Raspail, close to bars and cafes, friendly staff and clean room. Only problem was the bed, which sank in the middle, but for one night, was fine. Definitely one to consider...

Don't make the same mistake as I did and come here for a romantic weekend trip. It's more hostel than hotel level, apart from the fancy looking lobby. Good thing Paris as a city made up for this subpar hotel experience. Location is great though!

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighbourhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the centre of Paris this neighbourhood has something for every hour of the day.

“Nice view from top floor”
of 5 bubbles Marlllon, 4 Aug 2015 | Read review
“Room 20 on the 4th floor with a back view is in my opinion the best choice; as this is an attic, for somebody having a problem with the small window and the inclined wall, a room at the 3rd (room 16) or 2nd floor could be a better option. Anyway, I would avoid a room with a street view, which is very nice and lively but this might not be so pleasant if you're looking for a quiet place late at night or early in the morning.”
