Only those in the know will experience the luxury of the Maison Souquet, hidden behind an understated facade signaled by two red lanterns. The bawdy, wanton legend of the City of Light was forged in the area around Montmartre, a legend of which the Maison Souquet now forms part. In a...

Even the French who visited us at the Maison Souquet exclaimed, "I LOVE this place! You don't see places like this in Paris anymore!" The MS establishment is remarkably quiet and private, and there are subway and bus stops within just a couple of minutes'...More

The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in
another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.

As wonderful as this hotel is, I cannot imagine taking my kids there. It is TOTALLY geared towards romantic breaks and since it openly celebrates its history as a former brothel (including pictures on the wall), and since ALL the guests are couples canoodling I suspect it wouldn't be comfortable for anyone. We are regulars and have never seen kids there. Sorry to be negative, but just about any other hotel would be better for kids.
