Just back from three nights at hotel L'Ecrin, Honfleur during a gloriously hot and sunny start to September. The hotel is a gem; beautiful interiors of antiques, chandeliers and sculptured ceilings and frescoes and with a traditional approach to hospitality (e.g bed linen changed every day!) but a modern approach to amenities; free WiFi, secure off road parking (rare in...

Lovely room and the lap of luxury after our spartan hotel in Paris (no wi-fi, TV) and artistic surroundings was much appreciated. The staff very helpful. The breakfast in the solarium surrounded by geraniums was a delight. The weather was not good so we did little of the exploring in the seaport but let our imagination shine sun on the...

Easy to find in the surrounding narrow streets of Honfleur. A friendly welcome from a gentleman of 'some years' experience, in a room full of wonderful French antiques. So different from modern hotels. The gardens are beautifully tended, as is the lovely pool and surrounding area. Our room was right at the top of the hotel, but we were given...

Previous reviews are accurate - Ecrin is an interesting old building with interesting old items and secure off-street parking. The service is good and it is just a 2 minute walk from the harbour. The town itself has many restaurants, art galleries and some bars. Recommended.

We booked at the last minute over a public holiday week and so were very lucky to find a room in such a pleasant hotel. The public areas are great, full of atmosphere of an old well to do port house. The pool area is particularly pleasant as are the gardens. Parking is easy and secure in a town of...

We wanted to stay in Honfleur for one night on our way to Brittany. I wanted somewhere close to the town centre but with good off street parking which is why we chose this hotel. It was a good decision because it is a great hotel. We were immediately made welcome by the owner and his assistant, Nam. The hotel...

The owner of this Hotel is a collector! Things from all over the world adorn the main rooms although not in ones own accommodation . Stuff just everywhere but not in an overpowering way- just fascinating. We had a suite which was spacious and comfortable plus very clean. The pool area was well looked after and spotless. Location excellent- short...

This hotel is a real gem. It is only 5 minutes from the old port and excellent restaurants. The rooms are large and cool, the pool is excellent and there is ample free parking. the building is decorated and furnished as it would have been 100 years ago but beautifully looked after. Don't be concerned that it is only a...

This hotel felt like a trip back in time, and that special quality is what made it a standout for our family. Very personalized service, and a decor that was just the opposite of an institutional or chain hotel -- antiques and lots of them, paintings, fresh flowers everywhere. We had two rooms in the main building, each very different...

3 of us stayed here as part of a road trip, in a group of sports cars the hotel wasn’t the easiest to get in and out of, small narrow streets all lead up to it, but the staff were great and quickly came out and sorted some secure parking for us. The hotel is effectively a large old house,...
