Very clean & helpful staff, would recommend. Great view from bedroom window of gardens & beyond. Close to all other amenities so very convenient. On site car parking. Spacious, nice deco and interesting display of wine etc.

We live just 60kms from Angouleme and we have used the Mercure Angouleme on a good number of occasions. It is an excellent night- stop for us when travelling by rail -some fifteen to twenty minutes walk to the station. The accommodation, bar and restaurant are all superb. Very welcoming reception and attentive staff. We look forward to our next night-stop.

Our stay in Angouleme was really made perfect by our choice to stay at the Mercure Angouleme. The reception staff was incredibly kind and helpful, in particular Stephanie, who was so lovely! She helped us understand all we needed to for parking our car, finding an excellent place to dine, and answering any and all our questions so we could...

The hotel, the staff,...

The breakfast. Which soured an otherwise good visit. The hotel is clean, and nicely furnished, in a great location of Angouleme near the market and the food was good. But the breakfast, and the breakfast staff very nearly ruined it. Sadly being allergic to milk did not warrant any further discussion for the apathetic waiter. It was clearly my fault...

The hotel is modern and clean, the staff are helpful and most speak English if required. The Hotel is ideally placed in the centre of town. It is a 1 min walk to a number of bars and restaurants. There are at least 20 places to eat within a very short walk. The rooms are as you would expect for...

I know Mercure is a chain BUT this hotel is different - in a beautiful old building and lovely spacious quiet rooms. There is a great bar in the lobby and a special list of cognac based cocktails - do try some. The restaurant is terrific with regional food and well priced and you can choose to eat inside or...

This was a pit stop on my way to the South of France. The hotel is nicely decorated and the rooms were clean and modern. Outside eating area was nice too and the view of the courtyard and beyond from the room was lovely. The hotel has safe underground and private parking which was a bonus.

Location - very good because the hotel is in the center of lovely Angouleme, it is just perfect. But, if you are arriving by train, have a lot of luggage or are not fit, by all means, get some kind of transportation to get to the hotel or center of town. Going uphill is not easy, unless you are used...
