The 4 stars painted on their gate is optimistic; the accommodations deserve 3 at best. Information about this hotel is out-of-date, including brochures on the front desk - advertised private safe, table tennis, or billiards are non-existent and the swimming pool has been filled in and is now a gravel-based table area. Furnishings are spare and worn: curled edges in...

typical provence style hotel. it is as noted in other reviews in a bit of a remote location, but has much more to offer than the chain hotels around Marseilles airport. The garden and swimming pool area in my opinion in need of some refurbishment. Rooms and bathroom of good size, but in my humble opinion a bit too dark....

We did not have the best experience at this property. It was our own fault for choosing one that was so far from town (Aix is 15-20 minutes/37euro by taxi) so that part I cannot blame the hotel for. We arrived at the train station and called the hotel for a taxi because none were at the station. They told...

This hotel has old world charm with wonderful gardens. Breakfast was good and seated in wonderful gardens. Decided to try diner there and we were pleasantly surprised with great affordable dishes and service. There were few dinners and we believe that it is a too well-hidden secret and deserves better patronage. Our room was fairly basic and a touch cramped....

It has been about ten years since I stayed at Auberge Bourrelly ("July 2013" was the earliest date TA let me select). So while I cannot necessarily speak for its most recent updates and offerings, I feel the fact that I'm still thinking about it ten years later speaks to its quality and charm. I stayed while vacationing throughout France...

Beautiful auberge set un the heart of Provence. Wonderful gardens under old trees. Excellent restaurant. Excellent and very friendly service. A great experience. Certainly not for those who cherish the Ibis-style. We regularly drive by Aix and always make sure we stop at Bourrelly's for a day or two.

The hotel has pretty gardens, but the bed was hard and uncomfortable, and the water pipes screeched loudly. I didn't realise it was so far from the city - 15 mins taxi drive. Definitely not suited to anyone without a car. The bus to the city takes 20 mins and doesn't come very often. I think the website is misleading...

This hotel was a superb alternative to the ordinary Best Western, Ibis, etc. and at the same price or cheaper, yet offering much more. Think French Fawlty Towers, but properly run. As others have said, it is authentic rural France, with all it's charms and foibles. This place is not for the fussy traveler, but I highly recommend it for...

If you are visiting Provence and want to have an authentic experience, this hotel is an excellent choice. The restaurant area is elegant and spacious with a broad summer terrace stretching around the pool, which in summer is a wonderful place to dine, especially given the delicious and original dishes on the menu. I stay regularly at this hotel for...

Located about 15 mins from Aix and about the same from Marseille (and about 5 mins from the Aix en Provence Gare TGV) this place is well located. It is in the small commune of Calas; it has a rustic very laid back charm to it. The food is excellent (as is the wine list); Staff were helpful rooms are...

“All the rooms are very different and quite quirky. Rooms overlooking the patio are dripping with ambience (our choice - sleep with earplugs if you need to) but have dining noise wafting in until about midnight. Rooms on the backside are much quieter but boring. We asked to move rooms upon arrival as the shower didn't work very well. We were shown to a nicer room with no fuss at all and no extra charge.”
