the hotel riviera is a tightly run ship; very simple, no frills, but super clean, and well located with friendly, helpful owners. we loved walking out to st jean for lunch and the beach or dining down at the marina. it's a beautiful region and the hotel riviera allows you to experience it at a very modest room rate. I would say it's popular with the experienced traveler (self-sufficient, cost conscious, but discerning). there are no elevators, and rooms are compact. there's a nice small outdoor space and indoor sitting room with stacks of multi-national magazines and books to borrow.

Hotel Riviera is ran by a lovely French couple. Their English might not be perfect but they are very helpful and will make sure you will have a comfortable stay. They got me an extra hard mattress which was great and a very quiet room. The only sounds I normally heard were just birds singing. The basic room had air conditioner with heating capabilities so the room temperature will stay comfortable. The hotel doesn't have laundry service but there is a laundry shop in town that is pretty affordable. Hotel has free wifi that worked well in the room but not everywhere in the public areas. Breakfast can be ordered separately for each morning for extra fee. I didn't try the hotel breakfast, there are plenty of good restaurants nearby.

Pros:
+ Comfortable bed
+ Quiet room
+ AC
+ The room can be made dark
+ Clean
+ Decent wifi
+ Good value for money
+ Good service

Cons:
- No safety deposit box

We had a very happy week staying at Hotel Riviera in July. Anne and Jacques made us feel really at home and the hotel was very comfortable. The hotel is small and friendly. The room had everything we needed and was spotless, and the daily maid did a fantastic job each day. The bed was really comfortable and with air-con and shutters we slept soundly. The street is extremely quiet. We were never disturbed, even though its only 5 mins from the station. The hotel is in a great location to access everything. The area has everything we wanted with beaches, great places to eat and stunning coastal walks. We would happily return!

Hotel Riviera is a lovely place to stay. The welcome was absolutely fantastic - the hosts were friendly, welcoming and gave me great advice on places to eat and things to do in the local area. The room was comfortable and well decorated, and just ideal. The town is lovely - right on the coast with great walks to nearby villages. The hotel is right near the centre of Beaulieu and very close to a bus route and the train station, so you really do not need to hire a car. It was a fantastic holiday - and I can't wait to go back soon!

We stayed in Hotel Riviera for 4 nights in mid-March 2013 taking a short break to meet friends. The room was perfectly adequate for the short stay, spotlessly clean and extreemly quiet. Some hotels in Beaulieu Sur Mer suffer from noise from the railway or roads, but not this one as it was a good distance from both.
It was a family run hotel and the owners, Anne and Jacques, were attentive, friendly and helpful and provided good advice (in English) for both the local restaurants, sights and activities in the area. As it is a family run hotel there is no night service but we did not find this a problem.
The location of the hotel was excellent. A couple of minutes walk from the 100 bus stop (with fares at1€ for any journey or 4€ for a day pass), a short walk to the town centre and railway station and close to the beaches. Although we hired a car for the day to go to the mountains, a car was not necessary due to the very good public transport. Both Nice and Monaco were easily accessible.
Beaulieu Sur Mer has a nice mix of things to see and do and we will certainly be back to the Hotel Riviera.

My wife and I stayed for 8 nights in the 1 bedroom apartment on the property. It had a full sized refrigerator and full service kitchen. This apartment had the best air conditioning we have ever had during our travels! This was nice after spending all day at the beach and coming home coated with salt and sunscreen. Anne and Jacques were extremely friendly and helpful with anything we needed. We were lucky enough to see before and after photos from when they purchased the property. They have done an incredible job and the reviews show it. The hotel is a short walk from 2 great beaches, and if you're willing to walk further, Cap Ferrat offers some lovely beaches as well. We returned our car to NCE after checking in and had no need for it due to the proximity of the train station and the ease of taking buses as well. We have stayed in other parts of the Riviera before, but Beaulieu Sur Mer is our new favorite place. It definitely has a nice balance of activity, culture, local people and beautiful scenery. I highly recomend the apartment here at Hotel Riviera for anyone looking to have more than a few nights stay. We hope to be back again soon!

A family run hotel with very few staff, so don't expect out of hours service. The room we had was the slightly more expensive but still small.
We took breakfast which was choice of hot drink and pastries served in their little court yard or in the front room adjacent to reception.
The proprietor was very helpful, with a good enough English to explain directions and restaurant characteristics. Madame very welcoming in the morning when serving the breakfast.
We felt wanted and that the Hotel was exactly what it said.
Beaulieu is a short train or bus ride from Nice and from Monaco so there are lots of things to do and see. If you have a car, there is only on street parking (free in a lot of local streets) but Monsieur has one short term space outside which he reserved for us.
We are very likely to go back.

Great location for travelling up and down the med, or just staying close by. The rooms are tiny (really tiny) but you get what you pay for. Hard to find this value anywhere else right on the med. . Great beach was a 10 min walk away. Harbour with restaurants & patios and tonnes of big yachts. Easy to catch the train to Nice, Monaco, Villefranche etc and they run until 11 or 12. Walk to Cap Ferrat.

Recommend: villa ephrussi de rothschild for lunch on the patio then a stroll through the gardens.

Warning: No elevator!

A small family run hotel, ideally situated in the centre of Beaulieu sur Mer. Although the rooms aren’t spacious the bed was very comfortable, shower excellent and air conditioning efficient.
There is a breakfast room with kettle and coffee making machine and each room has its own small lockable fridge which is a great idea.
The outside area is shaded but could be a bit more inviting and comfortable.
WiFi is only available on the ground floor but the charming hosts made us feel very welcome and so all in it it definitely ticked a lot of boxes.

There are a lot of lavish hotels in Beaulieu, but they do cost a fortune. If you are looking to save your money and don't intend on spending lots of time in your room, then this hotel is a great place to just put your head down. Its clean, friendly and very simple. We didn't try the breakfast and instead went to a bakers up the road for fresh pastries.

Our room had a Juliette balcony facing the street; I don't remember it being loud at all. The street is quite quiet. Rooms have a small TV with international news channels. Air con worked fine.

It's a very short walk to the harbour and beach. We went to the private beach to the left of the hotel, which was lovely. It was expensive for food and drink though, and they charge you to use towels.

My only complaint about the Riviera is the hairdryer was pretty old and weak, so bring your own!
