It wasn't the first time we stayed at Le Havre Bleu Hotel and we surely hope it wasn't the last time...Me and my family have been there years in a row and each time we were extremely satisfied with its' services....It's quite small but cosy and the staff is really hospitable. Also, the hotel it's quite close to the beach and a market...and the price it's really convenient. I have nothing but the best to say about this hotel.

We found this hotel after much searching on the internet. Other hotels initially looked good, but their Trip Advisor reviews didn't!
It is a really easy train journey from NIce, an easy walk from the station and easy to find. The Owners who took over just over a year ago were very welcoming when we arrived. They have done some refurbishing over the winter and plan more this winter (their thinking is that you can always improve)
The first impression of the room (no 19) was that it was very clean, though the bed looked a little firm. Dont worry though-it isn't too firm! We slept so well all week, it was bliss...crisp clean white sheets, lovely! The bathroom is smaller than you would have at home admittedly, but there is everything you need; shower, toilet and washbasin-all once again, very clean. Towels are changed as you need using the usual code; put them in the shower or bath if they need replacing-resulting in a constant supply of lovely clean white towels. The standard of cleanliness is just what you need from your accomodation and was one of my main concerns after reading terrible reviews from other hotels. There was a nice little balcony,(no real view unfortunately which was a small disappointment at first), it was really lovely though just sitting there on an evening having a glass of wine, looking at the stars and enjoying the lovely warm sea air. There is air conditioning in the room which was very effective, and importantly, very quiet on the low setting, it kept us cool during the night and ensured a perfect nights sleep every time (even the 1st night).
Breakfast is 7 Euros extra-we tried it the 1st morning........ then had it everyday! Definitely worth the money because it was really good-as much tea and coffee as you wanted, pink grapefruit juice, orange juice, then lovely fresh bread, croissants, pain au chocolat and 2 more pastries (which were all delicious!) to choose from, also cheese, jams, honey, natural yoghurt, fresh fruit salad, and cereal-amazing value which you wouldn't better at any bar (would easily be the same money for a cuppa and a croissant in a bar). Served from 7am through until 11am 6 days a week, 8am-11am on Sunday, perfect if you want an early start or a nice lie-in. You can sit outside or indoors to eat, your choice, the breakfast room is very clean and newly refurbished looking bright and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were very sad to leave our new friends-the owners; Catherine and Tierry Cerveau. Catherine speaks very good English and is more 'front of house' whilst Tierry moves about quietly and does all the back of house stuff (he doesn't speak English-but I don't say that as a fault-as I don't speak French!). They are very obliging and will do anything they can to make you feel welcome and your stay more enjoyable.
Now this is a glowing report for this hotel and it is well deserved-if you are the person who likes to complain and find fault I am sure you could something somewhere, but don't forget this is not a 5 star hotel and you are not just some number in a large impersonal 10 storey monstrosity. You are a welcome guest into a home that happens to be a very good hotel.
We were so glad we found this gem of a place!

I stayed in this hotel recently and it was an enjoyable stay. I researched the reviews on tripadvisor before booking so knew what to expect. The exterior of the building is beautiful, very well maintained and has a provencal feel. The bedroom and bathroom were small but pristinely clean and towels were changed every day.As the weather was superb, for week of oct.18,it was possible to have breakfast on the terrace. The only negative is the traffic on the cote d'azure has increased dramatically from Nice to Menton, it is very noticeable in some of the promenade restaurants. Similarily in this hotel if you opened the bedroom window the traffic was audible,as it was on the terrace. There wasn't a lounge as such to sit in, in the evening,so it was fortunate that the weather was warm enough to sit out in the terrace. The breakfast was v.good, lovely homemade croissants and bread. Also there was a very good choice of tea and coffees. Overall there was a very calm, homely feel in the hotel. If some of the main promenade areas in Menton and Nice, were pedestrianised,it would entice people to stay longer, as there are some gorgeous outdoor restaurants to sample in Menton which is very accessible from Beaulieu sur mer. The walk from Beaulieu to St.Jean is beautiful and the village of St.Jean is a delight, superbly maintained. They seemed to be working on resolving the drainage issue near the marina in Beaulieu. If you plan to spend a lot of time outdoors, this hotel is excellent. There is a very good bus route near hotel, for Nice and main townes in the area.

Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. The woman who owns/works the hotel is one of the rudest people I have ever met. So many strange rules including no eating in the hotel and constantly changing the prices. There is a breakfast for $10 and I paid for it. Just had a coffee and went for a run and decided to come back after to eat something. The woman refused to let me take a piece of fruit after I had already paid for the breakfast. Luckily I was with a big group of people that had also had the same experience with this woman. If you have the opportunity I would highly suggest to stay at the other close hotel with is the IBIS styles.

We stayed here for 10 days in September and the hotel lived up to all the good reviews I had read. Yes, the room was small and the bathroom was tiny, but it was all spotless and newly decorated. I have a bad back and the bed was a little firm for me (most hotel beds are much harder!) but the bedding was very comfortable and my husband slept well. Our room was at the back but the traffic dies down at night so I would no be concerned about noise anyway.

Our room (19) had a balcony so the extra space to sit and enjoy a glass of wine was welcome.

Catherine, who runs the hotel, speaks excellent English and was very helpful. Breakfast is served on the terrace at the front, with a good selection of rolls etc.

The hotel is a short walk from the lovely beach at the Bay des Formis. This is where the path down to St Jean (Cap Ferrat) starts - highly recommended. We went down one evening to eat as the path is lit and well used. You can also walk to the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild from here.
There are wonderful walks around the whole of Cap Ferrat, get a map from the tourist information office and buy a sandwich/drink in the little bakery in St Jean - there is nothing en route.

If arriving by plane at Nice airport: it's not easy to get to Beaulieu sur Mer and the information provided by the Tourist Information desks in the airport is not correct/helpful! If you have a small amount of luggage then you can walk from Terminal 1 to the train station at Nice St Augustin (10-15 mins) and wait for a train to go straight through to BsM. Be aware that the trains can be infrequent (hourly?) so you may have a long wait. We made the mistake of not waiting and getting a bus to Nice station, this took longer and even more walking - we ended up on the same train we would have caught had we stayed at St Augustin! I think you can get a bus from either terminal 1 or 2 (the 99?) to the main station in Nice and get the train to Beaulieu from there. If you have more luggage then this may be the best option. Taxis are VERY expensive, the train cost us about 3 Euros each - cheap.

My husband and I spent two nights at the hotel at the end of a week-long trip to France. This was our favorite accommodation. You can't beat the location..great restaurants, cafes and markets nearby. The #100 bus (Monaco to Nice) makes frequent stops every 15 minutes or so. Our room was spotlessly clean with a very comfortable bed. The modern bathroom, though small, was more than adequate and the little patio allowed us to enjoy the sunshine in private.
The Hotel Wifi was broke, so Madame offered us the use of hers. She was so welcoming and helpful.
I can't overemphasize how impressed we were by this lovely hotel. We plan to return and will recommend it to all of our friends.

LHB provides clean, comfortable accommodations at a very reasonable price, in a convenient location: an easy walk to the waterfront, the Greek Villa, even out to/on Cap Ferrat; also a bus stop a block away for a one-Euro ride into Nice (takes you to the main bus terminal in Nice, on the edge of Nice's old town and near buses to other parts of the city and the surrounding countryside).

The hotel is undergoing a gradual, room-by-room renovation/upgrade by the owners. I was in an "un-renovated" room and it was fine - clean and comfortable - if basic. The available seven-Euro breakfast was a delicious all-you-can-eat buffet-style continental breakfast. Taken outside, it's a very pleasant way to start the day.

Possibly the biggest attraction though, is the welcoming courtesy of host/owner Catherine. Always gracious, she made every attempt (successfully) to accommodate several changes in my reservations, even though it was during the August busy season. Although she claims to speak little English (modesty, I think), her English is actually quite good - certainly far better than my French - and communication was not a problem, making it just that much easier to plan a trip to, and to stay at, Le Havre Bleu.

My wife and I stayed for six days at Le Havre Bleu. Our room was on the third floor at the back of the hotel and thus was quiet. While the room was small we had a terrace which we found very pleasant to sit out on, particularly in the evening. We had breakfast each morning and were pleased with the selection. The hotel is very central and Beaulieu is quite a small town, so getting around is easy. We visited the Rothschild house and gardens which is in Beaulieu and is well worth visiting, particularly for garden lovers. Other visits to Eze and Menton were very pleasant. The train station is very close. This is a family run hotel and we found Katie the owner to be very pleasant and helpful.

The hotel is away from the hustle and bustle of central Nice but very close to Cap Ferrat & the Three Corniches. There is a relaxed atmosphere in this part of the French Riveria. We drove and the hotel has a secured gated parking area and the hotel staff will allocate a parking space for you upon your arrival. The hotel room rates are reasonable for this southern region of France so the add-on parking fee of 10 Euro per day is still a good value. The lady hotel staff spoke good English, was very friendly and patient, and provided a quick check-in process. We stayed 4 nights and visited Cannes, Nice and Monaco by train. The Bealieu-sur-mer train station is an easy 5-min walk away from the hotel. There is a supermarket right by the train station, and many restaurants and shops along the way. There is a simple snack cafe on the right of the hotel entrance, and a laundromat on its right. There is a boulangerie shop which opens early that many locals patronise and is on the facing block of shops from the hotel entrance.
The hotel room is standard double room with no frills, but is more than adequate for a comfortable and quiet stay. The housekeeping provided good room cleaning daily.
We could leave our car behind and do an evening hike round Cap Ferret from the hotel and return within 3 hours. It took us only a mere 10-min easy drive to reach the Parc de Chateau at 8 a.m. to get a panoramic view of Vieux Nice and then to visit the morning market of Cour Saleya. Parking is easy in the morning at Parc de Chateau and the parking rate is reasonably low for a popular place like this.
With such convenient location and good value room, we highly recommend Hotel Le Havre Bleu to anyone visiting NIce!

Lovely week long stay at this very reasonable hotel in a great location on the Riviera.

Super sparklingly clean and somewhat sparsely functional rooms. Bathroom a little on the bijoux side but served its basic purpose with toiletries and towels changed daily!

The owner could not have been more accommodating - for example meeting a lofty request for many extra hangars, the loan of ironing kit in our room and storing our laptops in the hotel safe.

Breakfast is optional at 10 euro. We tried it on day one and were not bowled over by the choice or quality. It had all the usual continental breakfast gayer but was a little unexciting. Having then explored croissant and coffee offerings elsewhere, on reflection it was perfectly adequate if not a little unexciting.

So overall a great stay in a great location.
