This is the last Guy de Maupassant's home, french writer and poet. Every room has a cosy décoration and name of his artwork. You will enjoy in our winter veranda or your breakfast in the terrace. Our little bubble of happiness is just at 5 minutes to walk from the center and it is really rare in Cannes. You will also enjoy to tast our speciality and Bio product for you small hungers. We have returned several times to this individual well-run hotel when we come to Cannes Cote d'Azur in October each year. 15 minutes walk uphill from the Cannes Croisette with fine views across the city, the hotel has an attractive front courtyard where you can sit, sip coffee and relax. Good continental breakfast with clean, comfortable bedrooms and a friendly welcome always.

Our first choice in Cannes was full, but the owner suggested this place. A very lucky break for us. Free Wi-Fi in all rooms. Was able to park free, on the road both nights. Quiet. Clean rooms, fairly new but immaculate bathroom. Breakfast more then adequate. One-way local streets make it difficult to get to. Garden, rooms and breakfast areas reek of authentic charm. If we visit Cannes again, will home in on this place.

This was our second stay. Elisabetta and Xavier run a small, quiet hotel on a city street up the hill from the Vieux Port and the beach. Built in 1842, the building was originally a house, and it was home to the writer Guy de Maupassant in 1891-92. He entertained his friends Claude Monet and Emile Zola here. We loved Room 23, one flight up, with its big window opening on the garden and a view of the sea and the peaks of the Estérel in the distance. We also enjoy dinner at the hotel, classic simple French dishes prepared by Xavier. In both our stays we took the demi-pension option, which includes dinner and the breakfast buffet. (However, they don't serve dinner on Sunday.) For us, dining in the tree-shaded patio is one of the pleasures of Cannes. Street parking is available, if you can find a space. Wines start with the admirable rosé from the Maîtres Vignerons de Saint-Tropez, 15 € for a half-litre carafe.

We had to find a place to stay for a week because we had our house under works.
And this place ended up to be just brilliant !
5 min from the center of Cannes, 15mn walk to the beach.

We knew the food was good because we had had dinner there once and knew the food was homemade. French Chef goes every day to the local market to buy local products and his wife is italian. Mixture of both cuisines is excellent.

We booked a family room by calling the hotel directly (tip: you can get -10% off by doing so) rate is 155€ for four (we have two kids age 7 and 9). Be aware they only have ONE family room for 4.
breakfast buffet highly recommended (french bakery, ham cheese and fresh fruits) so you're better off asking for the half board 26€ adults / 15€ kids

Note the hotel is kids friendly with a special menu for them as well (15€), my kids ordered milanese scalop everyday!!! And a play room where you can help yourself.

Rooms are clean and the owners are just adorable and very helpful.
we felt at home !

Cool place to crash while in Cannes. We only booked for a superior room, but the owner, Elizabeth, was kind enough to give us an upgrade to a room facing the sea and hill. Awesome view! It used to be Guy de Maupassant's library, and for nine days, we called it home. I'm not surprised if it gave Monsieur de Maupassant a lot of inspiration. He reportedly wrote about the house (and the library) so we felt privileged to stay in a house with a lot of character and history.

Breakfast by the garden was worth getting up for. It helped that it was included in our package. This beats the long lines at those large hotel chains anytime! If given the chance to come back to Cannes, I'd definitely stay there again. I just hope I'll be fit enough to climb the slope of Avenue de Grasse. To Elizabeth and Xavier, many thanks for making us feel right at home. Merci and grazie!

Due to my daughter being rushed to hospital I made a quickly booked trip to Cannes. Elisabetta and her family couldn't be more accommodating and empathetic to my plight even feeding me home cooked focaccia on arrival very late after visiting the hospital. It was gorgeous! This is a wonderful place, I love the fact that it feels like a home with the extended family being around including Jimmy the dog. I have yet to taste Xaviers cooking but hope to be able to manage an evening meal soon.

Only 10 minutes from the Cannes Croisette north of the Avenue de Grasse, the Hotel Chalet de lsère offers guests a warm welcome in an attractive setting on a hill overlooking Cannes. Rooms are clean and serviced each day. Breakfast is good and you can relax in a garden courtyard which is quiet and very relaxing. We've have stayed there twice and will return next year. Recommended.

We stayed several days and times in this lovely hotel. It is not a 5* Star hotel but all we need is exactly this! Elisabeth is absolutely perfect with her service and very charming! Very clean and free WiFi. A beautiful terrace. The hotel is not far from the city but in a quiet place. Only walk distance. Thank you for your host Elisabeth.
