Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Room was basic but very clean and had all we needed for our short stay. 4 of us stayed in a 1 bed apartment which was fine although this meant walking through the bedroom to get to the bathroom, which we didn't mind but you might want to know if you are sharing with other adults and using the sofa bed like we did(which was actually very comfy). We had a couple of small issues but these were rectified immediately by the lovely staff. We opted for breakfast which was good-continental but lots of choice and refreshed often by the very nice lady who managed breakfast each morning. Hotel had a quiet, friendly, family feel and the pool was great. There were pool activities early evening- our husbands ended up playing pool volleyball with a group of French people and had a great time! Staff were very patient with my basic attempts at French and tried hard to translate into English. You do really need a car, although there is a bus stop literally outside and this was explained to us by reception- we used it to visit Cannes(if you return late make sure you get on the N - Night bus!). Would definitely return, excellent value for money too.

If you are traveling to the city for the purpose of participating in the festival or trade, this hotel is by no means the right option for you because it is far from the city and the only reasonable way to reach the main streets is to use a taxi and there is a very high tax rate . But it has a very nice atmosphere. Each room has a balcony for relaxation. A limited but delicious meal is provided and you can find a laundry on the last floor. The hotel is also well-kept for hiking, but it's far from any store or supermarket, and feel like you're on an island.

We stayed one evening , staff was friendly and professional. I like the car park you can go from your room directly with out passing through reception. Nice easy parking .kitchen equipment very limited and they didn’t leave some washing up liquid. Just one dishwasher tablets. Very kind they left one. But it wasn’t enough. I would recommend this place because reasonable priced and good for families. Thank you

Found this place on line the night before going. As most places in Cannes are for the wealthy I thought we would try this place and drive into the city. A bus stop right outside the hotel made it even easier and cheaper as didn't have to pay for parking. Wish we had stayed longer as I could have lazed by the pool. Staff very friendly and helpful with all information relating to Cannes

We were only here for 1 night - thankfully. We arrived around 9pm, driving (as we stated at booking) - still took 10-15 mins for us to be able to get in the gate & park (lots of spaces tho' & a bunch of teenagers practising donuts with their scooters - not very reassuring ! Room was not so much tired as fast asleep. Big-time refurb required. "Kitchen" equipment was haphazard & inadequate (no kettle, only a percolator), 1 pan with a huge burn ring, microwave in "lounge" section as only 1 socket in kitchen. Restaurant closed, shuttle bus not running, local shops closed & when we asked where we could eat we were told that we could drive, but the gates would be locked when we got back so it was a 20 min walk. We went hungry, got up very early (since the TV switched itself on at 6am), decided breakfast would not be worth waiting for & skedaddled. It was cheap, if that helps!

The place was very clean, the staff was nice. I felt i was living in an apartment building in CA. The place felt bigger than i expected. The kitchen was great and the rooms spacious. Everything you need in a hotel room from utensils, towels to hairdryer and blankets. My kid and i made a video about it at Vianka's World on utube. We went in the spring but the pool was not open, that was one of our only problems really...it looked big and might be nicer in the summer since there are a lot of trees around and it can get shady...It was hot when we went but we were told the pool was being cleaned. Never ate breakfast there which you have to pay, we bought things from market and cooked things ourselves ;)

Very friendly and helpful personal. The studio has got everything you need, comfortable and well equipped. The shuttle, free of charge, takes you every day till 2pm directly to the Palais du Festival. If you don't have to be at the festival at 8 am just enjoy a refreshing swim in the outdoor swimming pool before your breakfast.

This is the third year in a row we have stayed at this hotel. It is more of a self catering apartment than a hotel so seeing some of the reviews about not being provided with endless toilet rolls, dish washer tablets or bin bags makes me laugh. The rooms are basic and could do with a refresh but on all 3 visits they have been clean. They are a good size and we have had both the 1 bed apartment and the 2 bed. We have found the pool to be clean and well maintained. The maintenance staff tidy the pool area every morning and every other morning they use a little robot pool cleaner. The rest of the grounds are nice with table tennis and a boules court which is lit at night. The downstairs bar area is nice and the staff put on activities most days in peak season. This year the inflatable obstacle course in the pool was very good for the children. The bar is a bit of a let down as they often run out of things so don't rely on getting a drink. The staff are generally helpful although one person lacks customer service skills. The location of the bus stop outside is very handy for getting into Cannes. We always hire a car and visit places like Monaco, Italy and Grasse and the location is good for getting on the A8. I can understand some of the poorer reviews to an extent as the rooms are quite basic but for us this hotel makes it an affordable to stay in a relatively expensive part of France during school holidays. Another bonus is that there seem to be very few Brits (like us!) staying with many of the other guests being French. There always seems to be a good atmosphere and everyone is very friendly.

We arrived around 8,30 am and our travel agent had informed the hotel about our early arrival. Although when arriving no reception staff and when one finally appeared she rudely informed me they are full and busy and we can have a room by 12. Nothing she can do about it. The room a studio on the 5th floor was extremely hot with 2 fans running in the room. Extremely basic room although it worked for us. Bathroom was old, dirty and run down. The toilet was the same. We had 2 loo rolls for 5 nights and had to acquire more else were. I had to ask for clean towels and linen as it didn't seem standard to supply clean linen in this hotel. When asked if no cleaning was included i was told it was €40, to be honest i could have cleaned it better myself. We opted out of the breakfast as it looked so basic and not worth the money. The kitchen in the apartment had no bags for the bins, 1 cleaning tablets for the dishwasher and no cleaning clothes. Extreamly basic even though we only made breakfast in the room. Who goes and buys bags, cloths and dishwasher tablets on holiday. The pool area was ok and provided beds. Although on our 3rd evening the children went for a late night dip in the pool and after a while my daughter realized there was poo/faeces next to the pool. Disgusted by this the children was taken out of the pool and sent for washing and my husband informed the receptionist about our findings. Next morning around 9,20 we left for an outing and looked down the pool area and the poo was still there. The receptionist decided against cleaning it away and clean the pool. Revolting!!! The hotel is next to a bus stop with good communication to central Cannes, with fares of €1,50 a person. 5 nights was more then enough and not planning on returning.

Inter-Hotel Les Agapanthes de L'Esterel was really an awful hotel experience. The neighborhood is not nice at all and the hotel is a dirty place. Personel are few and they try their best, but the combination of dogs and carpets makes this place hard to keep in decent shape. The pictures showing nice apartments are not representative as these are only a few renovated 3 bedroom apartments on the first floor. Pool water is not clear and does not smell right. Breakfast is a joke.
