My partner and I stayed here for a couple nights during my interrailing trip. The location of this hotel is perfect. It is a 2 min walk to the train station and about a 5 min walk to the beach. There are also lots of cafes and restaurants nearby. The gentleman who checked us in was very friendly and had great customer service! We arrived early but was able to check our bags in and headed out. Again, when we arrived back to the hotel late at night the male night reception was super friendly! Great customer service!
However, on checkout the lady at reception was very rude. We overheard her ask for 40 cent more from the couple in front of us as the hotel had charged them wrong. And then without even saying hello she stated that we owe money. We had paid in full on arrival so was confused and asked why. She stated that the gentleman who checked us in had not calculated it right and that we owed €2. As this had happened to the people in front of us as well we felt it was wrong of them to be asking every customer for the extra money if it was the hotel at fault. She became very abrupt and said “will you not pay it then”. Obviously we weren’t bothered about the €2 but it was the way we were being spoken to considering it was the hotel at fault. Perhaps staff training in customer service is needed for this individual as well as training in basic numerical skills.
Overall, I don’t want to leave a terrible review as it was only that one lady who treated us very badly and was very rude. All the other staff were amazing and went above and beyond! So yes I would recommend this hotel to those who are looking for a cheap stay in Cannes with the perfect location! Just disappointed in the bad ending!

We were a party of eight golfers travelling to the French Riviera to enjoy some October sunshine.
We booked this hotel as we wanted somewhere cheap but clean and Hotel L'Esterel turned out to be a good choice.
Situated between the local railway station and a smart shopping area it is well placed with resturants of all types and prices as well as loads of shops. The beach and promenade are only a five minute walk away.
But what about the hotel I hear you ask. Well it is a 2 star and like all things in life you get what you pay for. There are no fancy bars or swimming pools but there are clean small rooms each ensuite. The showers are quite small and it is easy to turn the shower off or scald yourself if you turn round and bump the control handle.Maybe that says more about my size than the shower though.
There is a good value buffet breakfast served on the roof and you can either sit inside or outside and enjoy the views.
The staff were helpful and couteous. The hotel has been refurbished in the recent past and is more than a cut above some of the other 2 star hotels in the area which look dingy.
There is no parking at the hotel but there is a reasonably priced multi storey car park at the railway station only a minutes walk away.
There are no public lounges or areas apart from the lobby in the hotel but there are bars and resturants right outside the hotel.
So if you are going to be out and about a fair bit and only want the hotel for bed and breakfast then this is as good a place, at the price, as you will find.

Hi, I am currently sat in a room at the Hotel Esterel in Cannes. I booked this hotel so I could surprise my girlfriend and show her the beautiful Côte d'Azur and a little bit of Italy. On arriving in Cannes the hotel was directly outside the train station which was good as journey was tiring. The service is excellent as each room is made up with fresh towels every day. Air con is a life saver. Oh and I haven't even started on the amazing roof terrace. What you lack in balcony you more than make up for in roof terrace. A lovely little hotel in a beautiful setting. Thank you everyone.

A true delight located in Cannes. My best choice for Can. Superb hotel with friendly charismatic staff that offer brilliant guidance and advice on all things Nice.

This hotel is close to the train station and bus and trams stops. Waling distance from all major landmarks and shopping areas. This area has much to offer such as beautiful local French cuisines and local artisan shopping offerings. At the hotel the staff are friendly and bilingual (French and English) which really helped us out.

Our room was Lovely and comfortable room. Food was excellent.

Highly Recommended.

Clean Rooms, Friendly, and seemed to be renovated recently. Across from the train station but noise was not a problem. They had some kind of automatic metal shutters that drew down over the windows at the touch of a button. Rooms were small but normal for Europe. We had a very large group and everything went fine. Out of all the hotels we stayed at on our tour, this was the best. We did not have any vehicles so I do not know about the parking. Location was a little rough across from the train station but I was never scared.

basic rooms in basic hotel with a price that seemed too good to be true. You get what you pay for and thats great for a change, smack in the middle of town, right beside everything, like most places in Europe no fridge in the room.

I spent just a night in this cozy hotel, the last September. The position is really comfortable, located in front of the railway station and just a few steps from La Croisette. The rooms are quite small, but they don't miss anything. The kingsize bed was amazingly comfortable. The breakfast is a bit poor, the price isn't worth. Generally I would suggest it just for a short stay.

Myself and my husband have just returned from a stay of 6 days in this hotel. The hotel is in a fantastic location, directly opposite the train station and less than a 10 minute walk to the beach. The Old Town is about 15 mins away on foot. The hotel room was fairly small but unless you are planning a trip to stay in your room this should not be an issue. The room was clean with good aircon. As soon as we left our room each day it was cleaned with fresh towels placed in the bathroom. The breakfast (which costs 8 euro) is sufficient and the setting on the rooftop is lovely. You can also sit on the balcony in the evenings with a glass of wine and admire the view.

We took the airport bus from Nice to Cannes and found the service to be quick and efficient. The bus stop is a 5 minute walk away from the hotel.

I recommend this hotel to anyone who is not bothered about wasting money on lavish furnishings and is looking for a comfortable place to sleep at one of the best locations.
