Will never forget and would definitely like to return! Breathtaking views from every angle whether it’s looking out to the Mediterranean or across the beautiful gardens. This hotel is extraordinary And so is the 2 Michelin starred restaurant. Those lemons for dessert are

This is a review of the restaurant and not the hotel. Simply amazing, year after year. The cooking has become less “rich” let’s say and the tasting menus much more manageable. Family love it, teenagers not so much. But worth bringing them to watch the confusion on their faces,

Drinks on the terrace with its panoramic seaview is a must before supper. An epicurean delight especially for wine connoisseurs of pleasurable subtlety. One is virtually living in a five-star village with room on the rampart of a fortification in its splendid isolation high

For a person with mobility problems is it possible to get a taxi to the hotel
Yes re the taxi, but there are lots of steps to the various terraces and cobbled uneven paths/roads inside the hotel grounds too. The rooms are the old houses on the medieval streets and ours had a steep marble staircase to the upper floor (bathroom downstairs and bedroom uostairs). They have some specially adapted rooms though. It is a fabulous hotel (the best I have ever stayed jn) but with mobility issues you may not get the full benefits. i hope this helps.

Hi. We're due to attend a wedding here in September. Is this hotel child friendly?
I agree with what the others have said. I’m not sure this place was designed with small children in mind. Strollers would be fine in and around the main hotel but wandering the medieval town would not be a stroller friendly experience. Grade school children on the other hand would probably have a blast with all of the places to roam and wander about. All of that aside, I must say that I think this would be an incredible place for a wedding. I've never been to venue more perfectly suited for a wedding. The vistas and surroundings are breathtaking.

Could I stay there alone and what is there to do nearby? Can I get down to the coast easily?
Yes, you could easily stay there alone. You can walk the village the hotel is a part of as well as visit nearby Nice or Monaco. Also, St. Paul de Vence is less than an hour away as well. No, it is not feasible to walk to the coast - and certainly not to walk back. The hotel is located on a cliff high above the coast. The view from the hotel public areas, gardens, pool, restaurant or even your room/balcony is something to do here. It's beautiful and panoramic. The hotel is a place to come, sit and relax more than move about. But the hotel can easily arrange for taxis to and from destinations and there are nearby beaches you can visit.

"We had the room with little lights in the ceiling to look like stars. Anything with a seaside balcony is worth it."
"All rooms require a bit of uphill walking, so individuals with difficulty walking, this may not be the best choice of hotels for you."
"If you can spring for the higher price rooms with a sea view or if you really want the treat of life time get a room with terrace or balcony"
"Each room/suite is different. Ask at reception re room assignment for details"
