L’HôtelCecil***/Juan-les-Pins is located in the heart of Juan-les-Pins, in the quiet Jonnard street. This Belle Epoque house, restored in the mood of new trends by Delphine et Franck, will give you all the tranquility of a non terraced house. I absolutely love this little gem! Aside the perfect location, 2 min walk from the nicest private beaches, I enjoyed the incredible customer service. I have had a personal issue whilst there and they went above and beyond to make my stay as easy as possible. Delphine's personal and friendly manner means that I will definitely be back next year - hopefully! Thank you :)

We've stayed in more expensive hotels and swankier ones but this is one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. Delphine and her husband have created a fantastic place here in lovely Juan-les-Pins. Delphine couldn't have done more for us providing us with recommendations of things to do, wonderful breakfasts (she was able to provide special crackers for my daughter who is gluten free) and a beautifully appointed room with absolutely everything we needed. There is a lovely courtyard for breakfast and even a shower room for departing guests to use to have one more swim having checked out before flying home. Amazing attention to detail and Delphine is the friendliest and kindest host we could have ever wished for. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Cozy Hotel, right downtown Juan Les Pins and close to the beach.
The only issue is that the rooms are not well insulated and you can hear everything that is going on in the room next door!
Aside from that: very courteous hospitality, clean but small rooms with a tiny bathroom.

Thank you for your feedback ;) We are going to put our hearts to work again this winter to insulate some of our rooms. You should know, however, that the charm of the HôtelCecil***/Juan-les-Pins resides above all in the simple fact that it is located in a very old Belle Époque house dating from 1890 and that the fittings that we carry out do not always live up to our expectations, unfortunately. Since you specify that the room is small, it may be because you have reserved a Small Double Room! Indeed, these rooms are only 13 square meters but we have no reason to be ashamed of this area in Juan-les-Pins for a hotel of our category. Our particularity concerning our bathrooms in this room category is indeed in the fact that the shower cubicle is directly integrated into the room. And it is therefore true that you have to have a certain intimacy with your spouse! Otherwise, these Small Double Rooms are most of the time booked by single people since we offer all year round (except in August) a discount of 10€/night when occupying a single… Again thanks to you ;)

The owner speaks only french and takes joke of us pretending that we spoke french instead of english, so communication was impossibile with her. We had some problems with parking that was not available in the evening when we came back from dinner, also if paid with the room, and she didn't help us. The reception is not available after 11 p.m. This is not an hotel but a room renthouse. My worst experience in an hotel, the rudest hotel manager i have ever meet in years of travelling.

Location was great but apart from that it stopped there for us, we were located on the second floor which unfortunately with the hotels paper thin walls we had ridiculously loud guests above sounded like elephants stomping around all night and first thing in the morning.
Our main issue with the hotel was that we had a lady staying next door to us who was the LOUDEST SNORER IN THE WORLD and she didn't care nor did reception. After 3 sleepless nights we went down to ask if she was staying long, to not make a hassle and could deal with it but to our dismay she was there for a long stay, we then asked if we could be moved as would like to be able to sleep on our 2 week stay to which the response was a quick look at the computer and then a no, wasn't offered anything else or even an apology or I will speak to the guest. Basically we had to stay there for 2 weeks as had prepaid for the hotel (IN FULL) and nothing was done for us at all, we were really annoyed and put a real stress and downer on our holiday as we were trying to go to bed earlier so we could get some sleep before the lady woke us up approx 2am every night...which ultimately never worked regardless of our attempts to knock on the walls several times and we attempted to sleep in a few mornings but if we were not out of our room by 10-10:30am our room wouldn't get cleaned which was already sub par. Felt like we just couldn't win. We also purchased two lilos. Prior to entering the hotel we made sure to shake any sand lose to be considerate but on two occasions were TOLD to put them outside. This was not appreciated as if they weren't lifted by someone they would have easily blown away on turbulent windy days and frankly they were our property so felt it was reasonable to have them in our room.
Really put us off our holiday to Juan les Pins and would definitely not recommend staying in this hotel. Again location great but not worth the sacrifice of two weeks sleep and good customer service.

Hello, We always try to respond to our customers who leave a comment, whether it is complimentary or not. As far as you are concerned, we really do not know what to say, or where to start ... Our hotel is currently undergoing renovation and renovation: so we had 7 different levels of rooms to manage this season. This management is not always easy also when the property is full ... Transferring you to an another room was really impossible at the time you asked for it. On the other hand, as soon as we could, we moved your «snoring» neighbor to an another room. We would like to remind you of some rules of the hotel industry: 1 / When you choose a «non-refundable» rate, as the name implies, this implies that whatever happens the total amount will be immediately cashed but also that no possibility of refund will be considered for any reason of cancellation. 2 / In any hotel, it is strictly forbidden to add beds. This is one of the reasons why we did not want you to ride with your 2 air mattresses in your room. The second reason is that these beach objects (full of sand) increase considerably the time of cleaning in the rooms and that out of respect for the maid, it is better to store them outside. Be aware that you have been the only customers of the whole season to refuse to place them in the place provided for this purpose outside even with the possibility of rinsing them. Your mattresses would have been in good company with all the other tires of other customers: buoys, pink flamingos, swans ... Never anything has disappeared or been stolen. 3 / It is also formally forbidden to eat in his hotel room except in the «Hotel Residence» establishments. This condition is stipulated in the documents available to you on the desk of your room as it also increases the cleaning time of our maid. Yet throughout your stay, noon and evening, derogated from this rule. As stated in the documents, we could have charged you € 15 extra cleaning / day ... What we did not do! 3 / The maid service at HotelCecil ** / Juan-les-Pins is extremely flexible. Although it is necessary to leave the room before 11:00, our maid goes to all the rooms every day in order to (at least): change the towels, retype the bed, pass a broom or even a mop unless you hang the «red» sign on your door. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced during your stay. Regards, Delphine & Franck

I booked a room at the hotel through booking.com. The reservation policy was not to be misunderstood: It said FREE cancellation, no information at all of deposit beforehand. After an hour I changed my mind and cancelled the room thinking everything was fine. After doing this I checked my mail to see I had received the cancellation from booking.com, then only to find out the hotel Cecil had sent me information that they ha made a deposit from my account of 1 night stay. This was done just 14 minutes - 14 MINUTES - after I received the initial reservation confirmed. Now I have to spend valuable time contacting the hotel and my bank to sort out this mess!

Good evening, What a surprise to take a bad appreciation of someone who has not even set foot in our hotel! If you had read the reservation policy established by the HôtelCecil**/Juan-les-Pins with Booking.com, you could have read the booking conditions at the Prepayment / Deposit that: «the equivalent amount 100% of the first night may be required or taken by the property aT ANY TIME AFTER THE RESERVATION »... On the other hand, you will not have to spend «your valuable time» to be in contact with your bank BECAUSE we make it a point to credit back as fast as possible the card customers. I booked through Hotels.com and had to cancel a few days later- 3 weeks before the free cancelation policy was up. For fairness sake it should be noted on the site that the hotel cashes in a deposit of one day stay (€98 in my case) more than a month before the stay and that an international refund can be had by a reduction of 16€ in banking fees. This makes the "free cancelation" as desribed not a free cancelation. In addition I find the practise of cashing in a deposit before a stay highly irregular.

Please note: Along with the reception hall, only certain rooms are refurbished, which the hotel labels "deluxe" (without particularly luxe amenities). The rest of the rooms, labeled "standard", are outdated and dirty. All rooms are tiny. I actually ended up canceling my booking as a result of appalling customer service (see below). I found it particularly hilarious that they claimed to "not care" about Tripadvisor ratings, a surprising comment in the time of online bookings.
My experience: After reading reviews & room recommendations from Tripadvisor, I booked a standard room with a request for refurbished room, weeks ahead of my stay. 4 days before the stay, the hotel emailed me requesting to clarify the room grade and an additional payment for a Deluxe room. I walked to the hotel itself to clear the issue. The management explained that at their hotel, "refurbished" = "deluxe", so I was not able to get a refurbished standard room because it didn't exist. Before I could even enquire about their cancellation policy, the management mockingly said there would be one night's penalty if I decided not to stay (being less than 7 days from booking), which made me feel a bit tricked - they could have contacted me earlier to sort any confusion. Their incredibly unaccommodating attitude became even clearer when I told them that I'd relied on advice from former visitors, which prompted the management to sigh that they "don't care about Tripadvisor". So, not sure whether I wanted a non-furbished standard room here without seeing it first, I requested to see it. However, this was not possible because the rooms were occupied (despite low season). Then I suggested to see pictures from the internet, as there was a computer at the reception. Instead, I was suggested to get out of the hotel and log in to internet on my own. After moments of debate, I did manage to get a view of the deluxe and standard rooms. Because of the poor state of the standard room I would've had no other choice but to take the deluxe room. However, with such dismissive customer service, I went through Booking.com to get a cancellation. In the future, I will probably try to liaise with the hotel more before the trip, but I won't be staying at Hotel Cecil.

Our room was not as clean as we hoped for it to be. The maids had obviously not vacuumed the floor for a couple of days because it was plenty of sand and dust all over the floor. The mirror in the bathroom was filthy with stains. They were stingy with shower and toilet articles, f.a.e we could only shower twice with shampoo during our 7 day long stay. The main window in the room could not be closed properly, which was annoying. The hotel was in general very sensitive to sounds, you could hear if the people next door opened the creaking wardrobe f.a.e and if the people above you flushed the toilet, or even brushed their teeth or talked. The beds was ok, not too comfortable but still OK. Buying safes and mini-fridges to all of the rooms that their visitors can use, is something we would recommend them aquiring.
On our last day we had to check out from the hotel quite early but we were allowed to leave the suitcases in the lobby. Our flight home was not until several hours ahead and during our time waiting, both of us felt that we had to go and pay a visit at the toilet but the hotel owners told us we were Not allowed to. How nice.. Especially when one of us felt bad in the stomach that day. We had to wait for several hours until we finally arrived at the airport and could use their toilets. This was the last straw.
There will not be a 2nd stay at this hotel.
This stay was below our expectations, and we can note that we did Not have high expectations in the first place.
