Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This could have been the perfect holiday! The setting is great, lovely apartment, spacious and well-tended gardens and great pool. However the air-conditioning didn't work at all and despite reporting this and being advised it would be sorted nothing happened. Also none of the security lights in the garden worked meaning that the grounds were totally in darkness at night. So overall a disappointing holiday

On the one hand the garden is beautiful and the rooms are quite decent. On the other hand it's a little run down, the pool is pretty cold (I'm from Northern England and even I thought it was cold) and having nobody ever on reception becomes a bit of a nightmare. In all fairness we have a young family and Mandelieu is more of a place for older couples in my opinion. I don't think we'll be back but it's not bad accomodation.

Nice room. Basically a suite with a kitchen. The really weird thing about this place is that the receptionist only works from 3:30-5 every day. Otherwise, there is nobody around to help with anything. The airline lost my bags and they tried to deliver them but nobody was to be found. This resulted in me having to travel back to Nice by train to recover the bags. That's not really their problem, it's just weird I guess. Otherwise, nice hotel, Pool is clean, room is clean. Wifi (sort of ) works (1MB down, .33 up) Great base from which to explore Cannes and on down to San Tropez.

This was by far the worst rental, hotel facility I ever stayed at. It was dirty, run down, no service (eg reception, breakfast like promised). The pool has not been cleaned for months and the pool deck was full of poop (human or dog?). The room was rotten and smelled of smoke....and the bed and couch covers very dirty. I tried to contact reception via phone call and expressed my extreme frustration but no help was offered other than free garage spot. The hygienic conditions were such that I could not justify staying with our kids and our two year old baby. Overall, this was the most discusting place I have seen. We left after one one night with only two older girls. We disputed the charges and never looked back. We did not get any money back....do not book this place unless you are ready for a horrific experience.

It is hard to call this old established restaurant a hidden gem - but it is. A wonderful French restaurant with reasonable prix fixe lunch and dinner menus. The food is uniformly excellent and the service is friendly and impeccable. You are never rushed - even after the bill is paid. The wine list offers something for every taste. Every time we visit Manhattan we go to LeRivage. We have been doing this for more than 30 years. - Bud R., Warwick, NY

We stayed in the first week of September in one of the self catering apartments near the pool. It suited our purposes perfectly. Everything worked including the A/C. It was quiet although we were told by reception that they were fully booked. I have to agree with some other reviews that it is not really four stay accommodation it is really 3 star. The pool area is good and our stay was enhanced by wonderful weather. It is a great place to use as a base to investigate Cannes 10 minutes drive. Monte Carlo 50 minutes drive and Saint Tropez 90 minutes away (although be warned the traffic on the coastal road can be very heavy - it took us three hours to get there). We would definately stay here again if venturing to the South of France.

My parents and I had a lovely stay in Le Rivage on our visit to Cannes during the festival. Situated in Mandelieu, it was a short 10-15 minute drive from Cannes that was very practical for festival times without paying the extortionate costs of central hotels. We did not compromise on comfortability; the beauty of the rooms at the hotel is their size, incredibly large and perfect for a family. We had an attractive terrace overlooking the garden and pool with a table that could fit 6 people, despite only three of us occupying the room. The room also contained a kitchen area open to a sitting room, containing a sofa that folded into a double bed. This spaciousness contributed to many relaxing breakfasts prepared and a lot of room for our luggage. The only thing to be said is the bedrooms are bare and small compared to the rest of the hotel rooms. Room service was not a prime feature, and reception was not open for many hours but but when they were, staff in reception were very friendly and approachable. You really are left to your own devices, and with the space and quiet villa rooms, it is wonderful for a relaxing family trip.

The grounds were lovely, with a really large, clean pool and plenty of loungers. There were also ping-pong, boules and badminton available so the kids had lots of activities to keep them busy and happy. The apartments were spacious with well equipped kitchens and a very big terrace which was perfect for dining. The location was excellent, the beach and town centre were just a short walk along a beautiful river path; there is a small supermarket very close by and a massive hypermarket 5 mins by car. We had a brilliant stay here and will definitely go back.

Large and spacious apartment, not very clean - it could do with a good scrub. Pool was tidy and the sun loungers were new, possibly a bit cramped at times as there was not much space in the pool area. Parking was good and we all felt very secure staying at Le Rivage as the property was all fenced and had an electric gate with a pin to open it. The Wi-Fi was very slow and often did not work even though the hotel claim there is free wi-fi in all of the rooms.
