What a gem of an hotel this is. The most perfect spot, for couples, for families and for relaxation on your own if necessary. The staff are so friendly and attentive.
Everyone went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. I will always think fondly of Rose corner in the sun.
We will definitely be back. Thank you all.

This is a wonderful small hotel sitated only 6 kms from Cannes. Despite its proximity to a large city , it is quiet and has beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Lavender and rosemary grow abundantly and emit their fresh scent. We stayed in a family suite which was ideal for our 2 children aged 12 and 9 years. There was even a Playstation with games in the children"s room.
The accomadations are bright and airy with spacious rooms and large french windows.
Service is friendly and helpful. We only had one dinner at the restaurant which was excellent. We chose to eat dinner most evenings in the charming surrounding villages of Mougin, Valbonne and Antibes which are very close by.
The garden and pool are an oasis on hot sunny days and we spent most of the day relaxing at the pool.
We travel the world with our children and this is one of the most pleasant surprises in our travels.

This hotel was perfect for a quiet, romantic hideway and an ideal location for exploring the South of France. It was a great way to stay outside of any of the cities, but still be close enough to see all the sites.

The hotel looks beautiful both in photos. Having read other good reviews, we were looking forward to staying for three nights. We left after one.

This was a shame as the restaurant was excellent and the restaurant staff were charming and helpful.

I was kept awake all night by a banging noise coming from the wall immediately behind the bedhead, probably caused by a plumbing problem.

I politely explained to the front desk man that I had been kept awake most of the previous night by this disturbance. Having previously established that the hotel was not full I politely asked to be moved to another room.

There was no apology. He refused, telling me that it was an old hotel and that all the rooms would have the same problem. (This was not true as friends I was travelling with, staying in a neighbouring room were not subject to this disturbance).

His attitude was, from the outset, exceptionally rude and dismissive. In a later discussion (still refusing to acknowledge the problem, let alone apologise), he told me that if I wanted to move to another room I would have to pay a surcharge.

Clearly this was unacceptable. He refused to call the manager and sarcastically showed me the empty manager's desk to underline his indifference to the problem. He refused to move me to another room unless I was prepared to pay the hotel extra.

Needless to say, we left the hotel and stayed elsewhere.

I have stayed in scores of hotels, cheap and expensive, and this was by far the rudest, most unprofessional response to a polite but firm complaint I have ever encountered.

Avoid.

By far the worst hotel experience I have ever had. We had a number of disasters at this hotel but the one that stands out in my mind was our dinning experience. We ate in the hotel one night with reservations at 8pm, our food arrived at10pm and I was so hungry, but I took one bite of my dish and could not eat it, it was simply awful. I asked my boyfriend to try it also and he agreed that it was awful. I asked the waiter to take it back as I had only taken one bite and couldn't eat it. I have never returned food in my life before or since. At this stage it was almost 11pm and we were the only people left in the restaurant. The waiter then came back and said the chef wanted me to know there was nothing wrong with the food!! I went to bed hungry that night and they wanted me to pay the €48 for my dish. The next day after breakfast the manager wanted to discuss the matter and hear my side of the story. The next day on check out they finally relented and said they would not charge me, but with major attitude. Avoid avoid avoid this place is all I can say!!!! I left this place so stressed and humiliated. Plenty of nicer places in the area to stay that welcome the business and your custom.

We stayed here early October for 5 nights. I was so disappointed by this hotel as the previous reviews had been so good. We were not made to feel welcome at all, more an inconvenience. I have stayed in many beautiful hotels across Provence but this has been my worst ever experience. First of all it is in serious need of investment. The bed was so uncomfortable, I had constant back ache and couldn't sleep. The tiles under the sink in the bathroom kept falling off. The shower curtain was yellow and none of the furniture in the bedroom matching. The TV did not work properly. When you ran out of toilet roll or tissues, they were not replaced and you had to ask for them. Breakfast was always the same and the quantities got smaller as the week went on. We ate n the restaurant one evening and it was very expensive for nothing special. We were unable to use the swimming pool as it was in a dreadful state and not looked after. There was one lounger beside the pool, all others had been removed. There was an old marquee which must have been there from a wedding and had not been taken down and it took up a lot of room around the pool area which was very small. On the 2 occasions I tried to sit by the pool, the owner Camilla had arranged a Birthday party for her son and the whole area was taken over by loads of kids, a bouncy castle and lunch provided for them in the pool area, so basically it was out of bounds to paying guests. The next time there was a party of professional people who must have hired the room for the day and again pool area was out of bounds. On no occasion were we told of these events but just expected to put up with them. This hotel is very expensive for what it is and to not be able to make use of the few facilities there were was really the last straw. The Manoir is just beside a huge pond full of wildlife and many mosquitoes. I was bitten alive and am still suffering from the bites. This really is not paradise in Provence, rather hell in Provence. Customer service is non existant. Such a disappointment when you look forward to holidays and to get some rest. Mougins itself is quite nice but very expensive. Antibes and Cannes are about 20 minutes away. We ended up having to go out all the time but defeats the object when you would like to take advantage of your hotel.

A beautiful hotel in a great location but completely ruined by the attitude of the Manager. He is supremely rude, arrogant and unhelpful, almost taking pleasure in being unpleasant. The topic of conversation around the pool whilst we were there was how unbelievably rude he was! One family left early and went to another hotel in Mougins whilst we were there and another couple were not happy and complained about his attitude. Any complaints are met with arrogance - he told one family to leave if they didn't like it rather than trying to improve his manner to make things better. Even when I had fallen down a flight of stone steps and was lying in our room covered in blood, he was more interested in whether we would still be able to check out on time rather than whether I should go to hospital! He offered no assistance and we had to find a local hospital ourselves. He also sat and watched whilst an arriving couple struggled with their suitcases and proceeded to ignore them. His attitude permeates the whole place and makes what could be a perfect hotel into an unpleasant experience. What a shame....

We are very surprised to have this bad advice regarding a stay in 2007 from a new Trip advisor member. Curiously it was writing the same day that we refused this family following our previous experiences with them in the interest of the peace for our other hotel guests. we are not perfect but we are not so miserable

You couldn't ask for a more beautiful hotel. If you're looking for a quiet retreat, but close to the city (Cannes and Nice) this is the place. Arriving here after a long drive, we wanted to stay forever! The grounds are so picturesque and is kept incredibly clean. The staff was fairly accomodating. They seemed a little put out when we asked for a table at the restaurant without a reservation, when the restaurant was not even close to being full. Close proximity to the old town of Mougin which is definitely worth the trip! Small artsy village on the hill with loads of cafes and history. Romantic hotel for love birds:)

This is a lovely hotel in an old villa. The staff was very friendly but I never felt very welcomed by the manager. It may have been just a French aloofness. The Italian restaurant on site is excellent. Rooms very clean and moderately spacious. You may want to request that your room not be in the rear - we were awoken most mornings by the staff gathering at the kitchen rear entrance just below our window. Elsewhere it might have been annoying, here it was somewhat charming - trying to understand the language and appreciating the laughter among them. Best part was the nighttime song of frogs croaking in the nearby pond (l'etang). Nice small pool area, but pool wasn't heated. Most of the staff understood some English.
