When we entered Hostel Smith for the first time we were instantly blown away by the great energy at the reception. Staff members were superhelpful and welcoming, the rooms are nice and clean and the rooftop terrace is just awesome. The hostel is perfectly located in the heart of Nice old town. Hostel Smith has everything a backpacker needs and...

The hostel was a bit hard to find, but once you are inside (2nd floor!), it is a pleasant surprise. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are clean, the washrooms, the dinning room and the kitchen are all new, clean and bright. Location was AMAZING!! In the old town, 2 min from the beach, 10 min from the castle,...

My student daughter stayed at Hostel Smith for 2 nights in June last year and was covered in bed bugs. They promised to reimburse us her costs of EUR 244 as she had saved for a year for this holiday. Despite ringing daily, and promises, no money was ever received. We would NOT recommend this Hostel if you can stay...

I really love this part of Nice. Busy and pretty with lots of restaurants and shops. The hostel rooms are clean enough although it's a little difficult to find. My main problem with the place was the lack of a central meeting area for people in the hostel. This would really be a shame if you were visiting alone but...

I was really happy about the beautiful under-the-roof terrace where I could rest and read during the day and which was full of lively backpackers' exchange every evening. The hostel is clean with new furniture, very friendly and helpful owners and staff and located marvelously 3min walk from the seaside in the heart of the charming historical old town and...

I was unsure about this hostel at first, but it was better than expected. Rooms were quite clean and so we're bath room, common room etc. At 20 euro a night it was worth it. Good location 2 min to beach. Breakfast is bread with jams which is ok. Lucy who works there is lovely too - she gave me...

The rooms were fine but there was no place to store your bag, only a little safe for the most important things. The bathrooms were pretty clean so that was nice. The kitchen was the worst part! So dirty and untidy everyone had their stuff every where. The who place just seemed like it was run by backpackers who didn't...

DO NOT STAY HERE!! My partner and I were forced to leave this hostel at 2am after finding an infestation of bed bugs in our beds. We told reception who offered us a refund or a new bed, we took the refund and left, mind you there were 3 other girls in our room that they did not notify about...

Good location, free breakfast and wifi, nice washrooms. The staff are really friendly and if you ask they will try to accommodate for you :) Hostel is clean and has a nice little roof top terrace. Lots of travellers coming through so you get to meet loads of new people. A bit disorganised. No one at the reception between 8am...

Appalling hostel and easily the worst I've stayed in. It was very old and dirty and noisy. It was overcrowded and in a 12 bunk bed dorm they also put mattresses on the floor and in the corridor for people to stay on. Bathroom absolutely shocking too. Wifi very poor signal as well and pretty much pointless. Only good thing...
