Hotel Palais Saleya is a wonderful boutique hotel in a very convenient location in Vieux Ville (old town) Nice, on the Place Palais du Justice surrounded by many cafes and restaurants and is just a few minutes walk to the beach, the port, the promenade, and the rest of Nice. The hotel does not have a restaurant, gym, or any other amenities but does deliver a very small breakfast to the room for E 15. The staff is unfailingly polite, helpful, and very professional.

The rooms are large, clean, and very quiet despite the convivial noise of the very busy plaza below. The AC does not work as well as we would have liked as it was too hot to sleep. The west facing windows can make the room very hot in the afternoon; the electric shades keep it somewhat cool. The suites have small but fully equipped and clean kitchenettes with a full size refrigerator and a combination small washer and dryer. The W/D is incredibly convenient to have, although it is very difficult to figure out how it works and, once you do, the cycle takes quite a long time to babysit. The kitchen also has several electrical outlets, helpful for charging devices. Bathrooms have lots of good towels but very little counter space to put things on.

Mezzanine suite – chose this for the high ceilings and ventilation. Main floor has a large living room with both sitting area and dining room table and large kitchenette in corner, a half bath, a large storage closet, and a separate bedroom with another closet and a full bathroom. Four large windows (that can open) face the Place Palais with great views. Stairs up to mezzanine level are steep and narrow; steps are slippery. Ceiling is very low; has sink and bathtub; open to main / lower floor; bedroom with luggage storage space.

This very clean hotel in a great location in Vieux Nice, gives one the ability to walk to most of the prime attractions, except for Musee Matisse. Very friendly, knowledgeable staff who speak English well, especially concierge Clara. The closet in our nicely-equipped unit was quite small and the shower lacked a grab bar, which Seniors need. The location is not accessible by any vehicle, so you’ll have to haul your luggage for a couple of blocks.

It is my third time at the PS, and what a wonderful place to stay! Things I love about it:

1. Apartment-type amenities and appliances such as washer/dryer combo, functional kitchen, dishwasher, fridge, most utensils, large living space, separate bedroom, split bathroom (vanity and shower in one room, toilet and sink in another) make it a really convenient and roomy place to stay. We could eat a nice breakfast in the room with things we pick up at the local farmers market and Boulangerie, pack a nice lunch for our daily travels, and return home to shower up and have dinner out. Washer/dryer helps cut down on clothes to bring. And Nice in Summer, you change at least twice during the day because of the heat and beach.

2. Location location …etc. You are in the old town in a mostly pedestrian-only area. Farmers market, Monoprix, city Tram, beach, and everything else you want is in walking or tram distance. No need to rent a car. Take the train or bus to get out of Nice, or Uber to places not on bus or train routes.

3. Staff is very friendly and will help you with anything - including getting you into a booked restaurant.

4. Rooms are clean and freshened daily.

5. Free NESPRESSO pods and a machine replaced daily. Great perk!

6. Better than expected noise suppression from the pedestrian streets below. If we turned in early on a raucous evening, the Ipad with white noise easily muffled any sounds from revealers outside.

We will be staying again.

This is a fantastic mid sized hotel located in Old town Nice. This is a pedestrian only area and the taxis can only drop you off about 25-50 metres from the Hotel (on two different sides). The entrance to the Hotel is underwhelming but once inside, the feel of the Hotel is very nice.
We stayed for 5 nights in a One Bedroom apartment (there were 3 of us) and the apartment was excellent - very good quality modern furnishings/appliances. It was very large too and we never felt short of space. The reception area is tiny but always helpful with advice, help on transportation, places to eat, etc. They were always happy to help with any stuff that we ran out of. While we chose to eat out, it had a small kitchen and a washing machine and dryer as well. On the first day, the Air conditioning in the bedroom was not functioning to its full strength and we got them to have this fixed the next day. That was about the only irritant.
The Hotel is in a fantastic location - next to scores of cafes and restaurants, very near the Promenade De' Anglais and a short walk to the new town area. This was a wonderful area to be in.
Hope to be back some day.

Brilliantly located hotel close to restaurants and bars in the older part of Nice. Easy walk to Le Promende Anglaise and Le Chateau.
There is a lovely bakery next door which I highly recommend a treat from.
The beds are amazingly comfortable and the Italian shower was lovely. The room was bright and airy with loads of space for two of us to hide up in when it rained.
It's situated close enough to the tram toake it really easy to get to from the airport without having to pay for taxi etc.
Great hotel and will definitely book here again

This is our second visit to this hotel. First time we booked through the hotel website and stayed in a beautiful spacious apartment at the front of the building. This time we booked through Booking.com whose description of a junior suite led me to assume the accommodation would be similar. However, this room was at the back of the hotel with
poor lighting ( quite depressing really): the closet space would have covered two people for a weekend providing you took out the ironing board and umbrella, but, certainly nowhere near enough space for two people for a week. The hotel did provide a separat hanging rail on request, but this took up some of the limited space
in the room, Booking.com described a dining table, which we had the first time, but the hotel told me that non of the junior suites were big enough for a dining table.
( See my review of Booking.com on Trustpilot for the lousy customer service)
The location of the hotel is superb, right at the edge of the Old Town: the bathroom was spacious although the shower area was a bit slippery, the breakfast was excellent and always on time, and the taxi arrangements to and from the airport were very good. If you plan to stay here ( and you should), book through the hotel website
and ask questions to be sure you are getting exactly what you want. And, if something should go wrong, they will try to put it right. A third party has no interest in
you once you have booked. At the time of writing this, the Booking.com description still had not been corrected.

I stayed here a week and opted for a 1 bed apartment option as I was working from home so wanted the extra space. The location is really excellent, in the heart of old town with nice views over the courtyard, by numerous bars and restaurants and the local markets!

I opted for a continental breakfast to my room for 15 euros which I felt was a real bargain as it was tasty. the front desk staff were super helpful and extremely friendly which was lovely.

The apartment was spacious, bright modern decor and every amenity imaginable. Rooms were cleaned daily and efficiently. The only small gripe was you do hear noise from the bars down below if you have front facing rooms, so ear plugs are needed for light sleepers. Having a washing machine is also handy.

Was the perfect base for exploring Nice and think ideal for families and group travellers and felt it was very good value for money.

Room was cozy and fully furnished with kitchen appliances, an espresso machine, cutlery, etc. It was very convenient especially while traveling with our child. A sofa bed and baby cot were provided in addition to the main double bed.
A side note that not many guests will notice: the electrical fixtures are designed perfectly with state of the art technology such as dimming lights, USB charging ports, heating element / towel rack in the bathroom, smart TVs.
Also, the sanitary fixtures are high-end allowing for a very comfortable shower.

Loved the room, it was clean and all that you need. Beds were clean and comfortable. The room had a coffee machine, oven, fridge, dish washer, washing machine, kettle and crockery/cutlery/pots/pans. Location was right in the center of the old town of Nice. There was a good selection of breakfast you could order as room service only as they don't have a restaurant or a cafe. You won't feel the need to have a restaurant onsite as the restaurants and cafes are literally round the corner from the hotel. Besides there is a convenient store to the right of the hotel where you can get basic breakfast items or ingredients to cook a meal, old town has a butcher and green grocer. So you have an option whether you eat in or eat out. Hotel is best placed for all options. We will be returning for a longer stay next time.

Feet away from the Judicial Building, many exquisite restaurants, a pharmacy and a supermarket. Intricate Nice awaits you immediately after you step out those doors. Old building from the 1700s perfectly refurbished to provide comfort and privacy within. The staff, from the Front desk to Housekeeping is impeccable with respect to guests' concerns. Always someone at the Front Desk to provide help with directions and advice. During our 10-day stay we stayed at 2 different room categories and actually, the cheapest option worked better for us as a couple. Loved the high ceiling and the obvious stone weathering in the steps. I will miss the entire staff until I'm back. By the way, Nizza la Bella is AWESOME!

There’s no car access to the street the hotel is on (Rue du Marché). We were dropped on Boulevard Jean Jaures and there are STAIRS to get to the hotel, so don’t do that. I believe you can get dropped on Rue Raoul Bosio and the walk from there is pretty easy. You might consider calling them to ask — they are super friendly and helpful.
