Henri is a delightful and generous host and welcomed us upon arrival. He was always willing to help and answer any questions we had, which extended to making restaurant reservations for us on New Year's Eve. The B&B is beautiful and clean. The room we stayed in which faces Place Garibaldi can get a bit noisy, but it was New Year's Eve! Breakfast was delicious and plentiful and once agian Henri was always around to cater to your every need.
You will definitely be able to practice your French while staying here as Henri speaks relatively little English.
Le Blason is situated on Place Garibaldi and has easy access (walking distance) to everywhere in the city including the wonderful restaurants of the old town and flower market area.

A very recently renewed flat in an ancient building, very centrally located. Very nice welcome and good service. Rooms are not very large, but comfortable and clean. The two rooms overlooking Garibaldi square have a wonderful view, although they are a little bit noisy. However, who has a soft sleep can chose the two rooms back-looking. Continental breakfast in the terrace is a very good way to start the day in the nice Nice! Highly recommended!!!

I wasn't suppose to stay in Le Blason, but my first choice was overbooked, so they send us there. And I'm so glad they did.
Right on top of Garibaldi Square, this B&B is so charming and full of personality that you feel at home instantly. I stayed there with my mother on the "orchid room", it has light pink walls, huge king size bed, is furnished with elegant antiques and has a balcony, from where you can see the square.
It was summer, and they only had fans, but there was no need for more, just opened a window and the room was cool and fresh. They provided us bath robes and towels, everything was super clean and organized. Good Wi Fi, even in the balcony.

The breakfast was suberb, we had croissant straight from the oven and it was amazing! Along with bagette (fresh from the bakery), jam, butter, coffee, milk and orange juice, served on the terrace, which is a miniature of the Garibaldi Square. So cute!

The real treasure of Le Blason is Mr. Henri, who doesn't speak english (only french), but is kind and patient enough to understand me trying to communicate with gestures. He carried our bags, called the taxi, baked the croissants and make us feel at home.

Lovely old character place, hidden in Garibaldi pretty well so make sure you find it by number because there's no big sign, nor do the locals recognise it by name! Brilliant location, easily accessible by bus from airport (no. 98, ask ticket office at airport which stop you need), easy access to bus for Monaco (no. 100 - piffling 1.5 euro!). 3 minute walk to port and 100 yards from museum of modern art.
The place itself is run by the non English speaking Henri, who is lovely. The building is very old and has problems which are commensurate with its age - our (myself and 11 yr old son) had twin at back, opening onto terrace. It was hugely peaceful with no noise from square at front BUT the en suite bathroom consists of shower (variable water pressure and tendency to suddenly run cold, I assume when another hot tap goes on - like I said old property) and large sink. The toilet was down the corridor and shared with owner, don't know about other rooms. This was a pain if needed during the night, or first thing before dressing, when other guests were up and about. That's why I've dropped a star - this wasn't made clear on booking. There was also very evident musty/damp smell which was explained by fair sized damp patch on outside wall. No biggie for me - doors were permanently open and standard fan on, so plenty of air.
Wifi patchy in room, but that didn't bother me unduly either, I was on holiday so not about to spend much time internetting. Breakfast nice enough, unless you're on low carb diet (which would make France a bad choice generally!), fresh croissants gorgeous - and I don't usually like croissants.

One note - if you need a hair dryer, take one. I noted an old review saying this, so was prepared and dusted off my little travel hair dryer which hasn't seen the light of day in years - there are no hair dryers provided.

All in all, yes, I'd recommend this little treasure and stay again. So long as I got an en suite loo!

Charming French B&B with a superb host in Henri who made us very welcome as if staying with friends. Henri speaks very little English and I spoke very little French but we easily got by. Lovely accommodation beautifully kept with a traditional breakfast of croissants, bread, jam with tea or coffee. No toilet in the room although had a shower and the room had direct access onto the Terrace for breakfast. Central location in Garibaldi Square with the Bus and Tram one minute walk. Train station five stops away on the Tram with direct access to Monaco and Cannes. A perfect spot for a break away.

We spent 10 nights in this lovely guesthouse on Place Garibaldi during May 2013. The hospitality offered by the hosts was excellent and was a significant factor in our overall enjoyment of the trip. Nothing was too much trouble for them.

The rooms are spotlessly clean and furnished with lovely antiques and king-sized beds. Free, fast Wi-Fi is also provided in the rooms. Breakfast was very good, (fresh home-made croissants!) and served either on the flower-filled terrace or in the beautifully-furnished salon.

Le Blason is proudly French and little English is spoken, therefore non-French speakers will have to get by with international sign language and pictures - but don't let this put you off! The hospitality is superb. We travel to Nice frequently and this is the best place we have stayed in to date.

This is a beautiful set of 4 rooms in a large building on a big plaza. The plaza, in the summer when the weather is nice, is très anime - that is, lots of action. I liked it for that reason - open the window and you've got a great view and you can hear what's happening. Now, if you're looking for quiet - in the busy summer - I'd say no. However, the noise didn't bother me.

The owner and his son were like family right away. Super friendly, very accommodating. Now, if you absolutely need someone that speaks English, then I'd say no. However, I did not need that and in fact I enjoyed the fact that they didn't speak much English.

The location is right next to museums and Vieux Nice (Old Nice) and there are one zillion little boutiques and restaurants. There is also a brand new big park that is super family friendly with this awesome "water mirror" that provides interactive entertainment for all.

10 minute walk from the beach. Attention - if you're looking for a sandy beach, as opposed to a smooth rock beach, Nice is going to disappoint.

As others have said, this is indeed a well-located property. It is also, however, very noisy, as it is on the 1st floor of 4, within a terrace of properties forming a large square that is Place Garibaldi. There are 4 rooms: 2 at the front, 1 with a very tiny en-suite shower room, the other has a balcony with a private bathroom down the corridor (the only room that has the use of a bath). Neither of the 2 back rooms has its own toilet, but do have en-suite sink/shower; 1 has direct access to the breakfast terrace.

A kettle is provided, but only 3 green/lemon tea bags provided and no milk. There are none of the niceties one might expect such as a hairdryer or ironing board - although, to be fair, we didn't ask if these were available to borrow. Breakfast is identical each day: not-freshly-squeezed orange juice; bread rolls; croissant; butter; strawberry and another flavour jam; coffee or tea. If you are after fresh fruit, cereal or anything else you will have to search elsewhere.

We had the Orchid room: a front-facing room with a balcony and the use of the private bathroom. The furnishings throughout the property are antique and quaint, but not very practical (no drawers to put clothes into, for example). Luckily I always travel with ear plugs, but even using these sleep was hard won! The rooms are above two outdoor seating areas for the cafés below and the square itself acts as an echo chamber for the trams, buses, cars, motorbikes, rubbish collection lorries and revellers. Add to this the total lack of sound insulation between the rooms themselves (when next door's occupants got out of bed at night we could hear every footstep) and it doesn't stack up to a peaceful, restful or romantic place to stay!

The owner does indeed not speak a word of English, although seemed polite and well-meaning.

We stayed at Le Blasson for 4 nights and enjoyed our stay. Henri was a very good host and we felt very comfortable. The hotel is in the best location in Garibaldi Square and easy for everything and really good value for money. The bus to the airport and to Monte Carlo are in the square so its really handy if you are planning to use public transport other than taxis. We do not normally stay in this type of place with shared facilities such as the toilet but it was fine when you got used to it. There was a handheld shower in our room so you have some privacy. Breakfast was bread croissants and tea/coffee overlooking the square which was pleasant. Our level of French is not great but we managed to get by.

Don't look for a 'hotel' sign or ask anyone if they know where it is - you have to find the address then press a buzzer. Once you find it, it is a hidden gem. We had the room that opens to the terrace. It was SOOOO quiet there. There was an event happening on Garibaldi Square including music and a bullhorn and you couldn't hear any of it. The breakfast was nice and Henri was very kind. The Bus from the airport dropped me very close to the hotel.
Wifi was spotty - worked best on the terrace.
