We, 2 adults and a baby, spent a good week in Nice at a great hotel. It was really close to Promenades des Anglais, to the Old City and train station, making it very accesible. The staff was great and helpful and the hotel was clean. For us, traveling with a 1 year old baby, was really helpful that the room had a tiny fully equiped kitchen. Will definitely go back 😊

Shoutout to The Hôtel The Jay for being extremely clean. I spent the first 2 nights of my trip in Nice here and I was very pleased that I booked in at the Jay! I cannot tell you how much an untidy hotel room can ruin my vacation and I am the type of person who finds the room to be a major part of my trip. I always use bathtubs to soak after a spending long days walking so the first thing I check is the bathtub! The bathtub was spotless and in fact, the whole bathroom was spotless. The room and bed were spotless, too! Pillows were heavenly. The room had TONS of natural, beautiful sunlight. I would leave the curtains open to wake me up naturally in the mornings. There was a tiny little sink, cooktop and decent size fridge if you should like to prepare your own food even though I did not use it. The staff was very kind and welcoming. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and highly recommended it if you are on the fence about booking here :)

We had a fantastic 6 night stay at the Jay Hotel! Stayed in a deluxe suite with balcony (3 adults). The rooms were clean and the view very nice (we even saw the sea from our room 404). The beds very comfy, even the sofabed. The TV in the livingroom came with a Chromecast. The little pentry was simple, but we appreciated the fridge and being able to make our own breakfast. There was complimentary coffee / tea and still / sparkling water. The hot chocolate from the coffee / tea machine was lovely by the way. All the staff were very plesant. The location was grand: 300 m from the beach, 7 min from the tram station, 12 min from the SNCF / TGV train station, 10 min from old town. There was a smaller grocery shop a stone's throw away and a larger supermarket 7 min on Boulevard Gambetta. Many restaurants close by (strongly reccomend the pizzeria on the opposite corner). Any downsides? Only small insignificant things if you ask me, like there being no wine glasses and very limited utensils in the pentry. Also, a few hooks for hanging coats in the hallway would have been appreciated.
Couldn't have been happier with the Jay Hotel, will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Nice and would strongly recommend it to others visiting Nice.

Dear Linda, Thank you so much for this fantastic review! We are so glad to hear that you fully enjoyed our hotel and our services. Yes, room 404 (suite with balcony) offers a beautiful view, from where you can have a little sea view. (same for 104,204,304 !) Our beds are indeed of high quality, and some customers even note the reference to have the same at home :) Yes ! our televisions are equipped with chromcast! Perfect for staying in touch with the heroes of your favorite series! Our rooms are judiciously equipped for families, and for long stays. For security reasons, wine glasses are not provided in the rooms (it can very easily break), but they are available on request, at our bar. Indeed, our hotel is ideally located. Very close to the sea, pedestrian streets and their many restaurants. The old town is only 10 minutes walk, as well as the train station, so convenient to visit from Cannes to Menton. Dear Linda! thank you again for this wonderful review, a real message of encouragement for all our staff. We would be more than happy to welcome you back to Jay Hotel. See you very soon! Best regards Gaël H Manager

We were fortunate to have chosen to stay at The Jay. Our overall experience with staff, location, service, amenities and hospitality was fantastic.
We stayed at the Jay a total of 13 nights. We even were booked to stay somewhere else half way through our trip, but decided to stay on at the Jay instead! That’s how comfortable we became with the place and staff. Everyone is respectful and courteous.

The location was ideal .. we are a family of 5 and were able to easily explore focal points around Nice on foot. We also had a car, which was parked in close-by parking buildings. Designated Parking is not easily found on side roads (as is the case everywhere in Nice) and that’s why we had to park in parking lots.

Special thank you to Alan, Lilian, Ceila and Amir for being super helpful and informative.

This place will be missed.. until next time!

We have just returned from a 2night stay in The Jay hotel.

We stayed in a studio room which was huge. It has everything you need for a city break and more with a mini fridge, tea/coffee making facilities. The bed was very comfortable and the decor is inviting and warm. The theme I believe is 1920’s era which you will see is a reoccurring theme in Nice. There was some slight wear and tear in the rooms with the wallpaper being marked but overall the rooms were clean & comfortable.

The reception team were very welcoming and made the check-in & check-out process very easy. They also gave us some recommendations for places to eat.

The location is great, the hotel is less than a 10minute walk from the tram station which goes to/from Nice airport. 2 blocks and you’re on the Promenade Des Anglais taking in the amazing view. It’s about a 15/20minute walk into the old town.

I would recommend The Jay hotel, it’s a small hotel with lots of charm. The location was good and overall it was great value for money.

Dear guest, Thank you so much for sharing your experience following your stay at the Jay Hotel. We are glad to read that the room met your expectations. Our hotel is indeed inspired by the Roaring Twenties and its art deco, in homage to the great "Jay" Gatsby :) Also, thank you for your nice compliments about our staff. Friendly and pretty hotel with rooms great for families. I give it too stars for location (because it’s a few minutes walk to the beach and shops, and an easy 10 minute or so walk from the main train station), great service/staff and decor. I took off a star for 2 reasons: 1. The beds were terribly uncomfortable (very hard) and the pillows were equally not comfortable. Didn’t sleep well at this hotel. 2. The shower height is too small so may be hard for many.

I really like the set up of the 3rd floor suite we got for 4 people with a balcony. I didn’t realize when we booked it that it came with a full little kitchen which is awesome! I really like that the sofa had 2 twin beds (which is truly genius for kids). Just wish all the beds were softer. Memory foam mattress toppers could help the issue. Finally, I loved that we had a balcony to enjoy outdoor time. It is narrow though so may be a little tight for some, but it was peaceful having coffee outside. We paid to have breakfast included (they had a special of about 12 euros a person). While nice (see photos) I think we would have just gotten breakfast on our own to change it up since the breakfast was the same each morning. Coffee, tea, water, and hot chocolate in the lobby is free all day which was nice. The staff works very hard at this hotel.

Dear Elle C, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience following your stay at the Jay Hotel. You are right, our establishment is ideally located, very close to the sea, the pedestrian streets, and a few minutes from the old town or the train station. Our hotel is inspired by the 1920s, in reference to 'The Great (Jay) Gastby', fictional hero of Francis Scott Fitzgerald's novel, offering the guest the unusual experience of a trip to the past. We are sorry to read that the comfort of our beds did not meet your expectations. We usually have good feedback about our mattresses, and some even note the reference to have the same at home. The comfort of the mattress or pillows is so subjective. However, we have taken note of your suggestion to add mattress toppers, and will do the necessary. Our American buffet breakfast offers approximately 70 choices. Hot food vary depending on the day. It can indeed be reserved at 12 EUR per person online, at the reservation, or if it is reserved the arrival. For that price, it's a very good deal :) Dear Elle C, we would be very happy to welcome you again at the Jay Hotel, and so we say to you, see you very soon!! Best regards Gaël H Manager

From the first moment I entered the hotel I felt like home. I stay in many 5 star hotels all over the world, but had rarely such a warm welcome like at the Jay Hotel. The head receptionist Liliana is super caring and makes everything possible, she is for me the soul of the hotel but all the other staff members are very hearty too. I had original a booking for 2 weeks, but liked it so much that I extended already 3 times. The Superior Suite with a small balcony and small kitchen is just fab, especially if you like to cook sometimes. I love the cool retro Design and the positive & warm atmosphere. The bed is super comfortable, water pressure in bathroom is great and room is super clean. I love the Nespresso machine on the room and the water refill station in the lobby. They offer you coffee for free in the lobby anytime, what an amazing service. Location is more than perfect, for me it´s the best area in Nice! Only a few meters away from the beach! If you stay longer you have everything nearby what you need, supermarkets, laundry, many cafes & restaurants. If you are looking for a small boutique hotel with super friendly and caring staff in a great location the Jay Hotel is the place to be!

This is a great little hotel to stay at in Nice. The location is close to restaurants, old city, the train station, and most important the beach. The entire staff was very friendly and welcoming to US tourist. Lillian was extremely nice and fantastic at her job! The hotel was very clean, WiFi and air condition worked perfectly. There was American foods served for breakfast - the croissants were fantastic. The train station is walking distance so getting to Monaco or Cannes is very easy from this hotel. The beach is a few blocks away-remember it’s rocks not sand so bring beach /swim shoes to protect your feet. This hotel was affordable, upscale and chic.
This is a great hotel to stay at during your vacation to Nice. I truly recommended and give it 5 stars.

The rooms are cute and fresh, nicely decorated and well cleaned. Both the rooms and the common spaces are nice to hang out and relax and you feel welcome here. Good amenities, free coffee, and friendly staff. Alain is especially nice and friendly with kids, and Liliana is very helpful, friendly and chatty. We extended our stay for one day in full season and they were very helpful in accomodating us. The only downside is if you come by car you need to find a public parking where to park your car. They really go for the happy experience so I would recommend them because customer service is rather lacking in many French hotels.

Dear Maria, What a wonderful comment ! In the name of all the Jay Staff "Thank you!". It is always a pleasure to read that we have matched your expectations. It was a pleasure to have you with us and I would be more than happy to welcome you again at the Jay hotel. If you wish the hotel has 2 private parking spots. With the high peak seasons, those spots are usually taken, but during your reservation feel free to ask for a parking spot. If we do not have one available, we are working with a public parking call "Parking Masséna" close by. It was a pleasure and an honnor to have you as a guest and I sincerely hope to welcome you soon at the Jay hotel. Antoine Fréchard, hotel manager

The Jay Hotel was the least enjoyable accommodation on our France trip, which was disappointing considering that it was the most expensive place that we stayed at. The room was shabby and dated with stained furniture. The hotel bar was closed for COVID which we could have sympathized with, except every other place in France (Nice) was open at that time. It would have been good to have known the bar was closed ahead of time. The staff were also not as friendly as all the other places we stayed at in France. The best thing about the hotel was the location which was minutes from the beach and with lots of cool stuff nearby.

Dear Rupak, First of all, we thank you for taking the time to share your experiences following your stay at the Jay Hotel. We would like to tell you that your opinion is very valuable to us and that we have taken note of all your remarks. We understand that your opinion depends on the price of your stay, however, rates on the Côte d'Azur are generally higher than in other area of France. The room you occupied was a suite, on the 5th floor. Some furniture may need updating, but the word "shabby" doesn't seem appropriate. Indeed, our bar was closed during your stay, in April, however, many restaurants and bars are open nearby. We are considering opening the bar in early July. howether, it was still possible to order a drink to take it to the room. Dear Rupak, I'm really sorry if you found the staff not friendly enough. Our staff are usually so complimented, and well rated. We apologize for the poor impression you have of our hotel. We are very affected by this severe evaluation which penalizes us. Best regards

I agree, I didn't have to pay extra for the kitchenette and it is really small. It has some basic cups, plates and utensils but you won't want to use it for making a meal. Plus, you're in Nice and there are so many amazing restaurants nearby. The location of the hotel was wonderful and I loved having an espresso machine in the room.
